It means exactly what it says.
What would you say about a person that didn't have the money to have medical insurance and he had to seek medical attention or die? Would you say that it is their time to die or would you take him to recieve medical treatment? What I am saying is that we need to be willing to judge others by the same standards that we would judge ourselves.
Jesus loved us so much that He loved others inspite of their conditions. He calls us to do the same. We do not love or accept their sin but we love them because while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
When we grasp the truth of a holy perfect Savior, Jesus Christ looking beyond our faults and reaching out to us in our need, it is truly a humbling expercience.
I would say that it is a shame that we do not have universal health care or insurance in this country that we desperately need. But not to get the thread off topic.....that person will become the servant of another to pay off the extraordinary debt incurred in treating the illness. Such a shame in our society that people must go bankrupt when cancer and other horrible illnesses hit home and they cannot afford health insurance to cover the treatment.

Should we make people servants to the rich just because they are poor and cannot afford health insurance? Hmmmmm....

My point in asking what you thought of these verses was to get to a different question. How can we as Americans call ourselves free if we owe money on anything?

We can't. As long as we owe money on our house, cars, or credit cards, we are servants to the bank. Most of our work innures to its benefit, not ours.

That is why I am trying to pay off my house as quickly as possible and carry no balance on my credit card, and pay for vehicles (used) in cash.

We are not free anyway because "our" government has us in debt trillions of dollars.

If you "own" property it's still not really yours. If you fail to pay property taxes the government will take "your" property, sell it and take "their" money from the sale.

Over in the UK, all land belongs to the Queen. When you own land it is just a 'freehold'.

The way I see it, we who own land, even if its paid for, its just ours to use and pay taxes on, to sell and or hand down to our children who will keep on paying taxes on it and or lose it.

At times I think it would be better not to own any land, for people who own no property get to vote to increase the taxes on the land I own, which the benefit from.

unfortunately, the Gov't can take away your land rather you pay taxes or not. If a piece of your land (or the whole thing) is good for a business or a road, they will take it away from you. This is what happening to my Aunt. They want to take a piece of her land and make a road out of it for a some condos. She tried fighting for it, but they are going to do it anyway. Right now it is on hold because of the economy (no one is interested in living in the town where she lives right now)

She wants to move to some country now (as she been there several times). Says there is no security in America anymore and it is always keeping you on the move all the time. She doesn't like changes at all, it scares her. This country she visited offer the security she is looking for. but it is a socialist country though.
