Members Anon
Okay yes I know I'm retarded haha but I'm reading a Jerry B. Jenkins book. Yep I'm bored. Anyway I know that most IFB teach that the Catholics will be the one-world religion (because of the seven hills, in Rome) until the antichrist nixes that halfway through the tribulation. (For sake of argument please lets not change this into any of the other mid trib or etc discussion.) My logic does NOT understand how Catholics will be the one world religion, because as it is, they are becoming rather hated. However I don't really agree with those who will give it to the Muslims, either. Okay in Jenkins' books, it seems that he sort of teaches that before the Trib, religion will be completely nixed because technically religion will be seen by the world as the thing that causes war...so thus will be eliminated and outlawed. Then onto his other series, "Left Behind", they pretty much have the one world religion being the worship of the Antichrist. Now, barring the "seven hills" thing...this makes sense to me...but then on the other hand what makes sense to me may well not be Biblical! Is there any Biblical proof for or against this thought? Members John81
One of the best theories I've heard on this seems very plausible. The RCC is an amalgamation of dozens upon dozens of religions; including Christianity and various European pagan religions mostly, but in other parts of the world the RCC has accepted aspects of voo-doo and eastern religions for the sake of drawing folks into their fold. The RCC doesn't necessarily have to have all folks convert to Catholicism, but rather they can unite with others under a sort of umbrella as they have been attempting for some time now. The RCC is trying to pull many Protestant denominations back under their wing and they are willing to allow them to keep their separate names and their special traditions or ways. In like manner the RCC has been busy, especially this past decade or so, reaching out to Muslims. In some areas RCC priests and Muslim Imans are working together. I'm probably not explaining this all that well, but it could be that the RCC would become the defacto spiritual head.
Members Covenanter
Hi,Kitagirl, aka Cake Lady - I used to specialise in creative cakes like Thomas the tank engine, but my enthusiasm waned when I became diabetic. Now my cakes are made without flour or sugar ... Does prophesy require a recognised universal end-times religion? Is that idea a product of a spurious Darby/Scofield 'end times' theology, without proper Biblical foundation? We can all look around & see antichristian religion wherever we live on the planet, RCC, Islam, Hinduism, Communist atheism, together with many varieties of false Christianity - Pentecostalism, liberalism, Zionism, etc. These false religions are united in several respects, to differing degrees - they oppose & persecute Biblical, Gospel Christianity, they call evil good & good evil, they claim an authority that denies Jesus as Lord & Saviour. Does Scripture teach a future 'one world religion, with one recognised leader?' I think not. But Scripture teaches both a spread of the Gospel AND a rejection of that Gospel. I may be a Preterist, & I do believe the antichrist prophesied by John perished in Jerusalem in AD 70, but I do see an ever-increasing rejection of true Christ-centred religion as the time for our Lord to return in glory for resurrection & judgment draws near. There ARE many antichrists, as there were in John's day.
Members Eric Stahl
The Religion of the Antichrist 2Thessalonians 2:3-12 Indicates that God will cause all the people who heard the truth of the gospel of Jesus and rejected it, to believe the lie of the antichrist. The antichrist will come to power in the formerly Christian nations because most of their people will believe the antichrist. Daniel’s forth Beast is the Roman Empire, which will morph into 10 toes or kingdoms at the end of time. The religion in those countries will be the apostate Christian church called the Harlot or Mystery Babylon. Every where the antichrist and the ten kings conquer will also come under the harlot church. The coming world church will be the apostate Christian church in the first half of the tribulation period. In the last half of the tribulation the 10 kings who will devour the whole earth will kill the harlot and give their power to the antichrist. He will go into the temple and declair that he is god. Therefore the religion of the antichrist will be emperor worship with himself as emperor.

Interesting, imaginative, but no scripture references given. remember the last part of the Roman empire, the feet and toes would not cleave to each other, Daniel 2:43. Members Eric Stahl
to Invicta, I believe the three week toes will be brought back into the empire when the war of Magog and its alliance against antichrist and the christian nations from the west listed in Ezekiel 38 & 39 happens. Jeremiah 6:22 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth. I believe that great nation is America which is the most christian nation now and will be the most decieved by the antichrist after the rapture because God sends America strong delusion. Also read Isaiah 5:24-30 which also indicates that God will call an ensign from the other end of the earth to Israel to take a pray safely back to the other end of the earth.
