Do a Greek word search in the Blue Letter Bible. You will find that tribes (phule) refers to Israel, & "world" (ge) is often land, i.e Israel.

We are still living in Gospel days - the wrath of God was poured out on the generation that rejected their Messiah, after the believers were delivered from the city.

2Th 1:6 Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
....
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The temple was occupied, desecrated & destroyed. That took place as Paul prophesied. 2T2 had to come before 2T1. We are now waiting for Jesus to come for judgement of the wicked & glorification of his saints.

I don't need to explain away the clear and accurate translation of my English language Bible. I understand the context of the original Greek and You sir are wrong, the Great Tribulation is yet to come and the terrible devastation to come has NEVER been seen in the known world. Most of Revelation's prophecies are yet to be fulfilled.......

In that day it will be world wide, and it will be something mankind has never seen the likes of, and the only ones left behind will be the unsaved. Of course there will be a few saved during that time, but persecution against them will be like never before seen in the history of mankind.

Have you an unambiguous Scripture reference for these things?

His next coming will only be in the air, never setting foot to this earth, taking His own out of this world, them after the great tribulations he will come to reign, that time His feet will touch this earth.

Of course, this be for these people;

Yes, a simple verse.

Jhn 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Of course one has to study where they can rightly divide the word of truth.

Invicta and Covenanter are totally missing the boat by trying to explain away anything that deals with the endtimes.

Omega's theology falls apart on one simple premise: he teaches that the Tribulation is not a period of God's wrath - therefore the church can go through it. However, the Bible teaches in two parallel passages that the whole seven years IS God's wrath. If he misses the boat on that main point, I daresay he will be off on other endtimes theology!

If the people in view in Luke 21 (quoted below) are the church, then God's Word contradicts as Isaiah states that those who undergo these things are experiencing the wrath of God.

Luke 21:25-28 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Isaiah 13:6-13 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Thanks guys. Seems some others are too busy trying to explain away the Biblical teaching of the rapture - that they will not only oppose Christians of previous times that taught it, but also teach that those guys invented it. The teaching of the rapture and being caught up together in the air with the Lord before the Day of the Lord (and before God's wrath is poured out) is Bible, plain and simple.

Yes we will meet the Lord in the air, but he is descending and we will meet him.

Sounds like twisting around those bible verses to me. What would be the point of meeting the Lord in the air if he is on his way down to earth? A roller coaster ride. lol

Yes, BUT. Clearly the dead are raised at the last day, & living believers are transformed as we rise to meet our Lord in the air. We will not be on the earth when it is burned up. We will be returned to a new heaven & new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Peter does not teach the fantastic 'end times scenario' that is so popular today, which gives believers a grand stand view of all the tribulations of the ungodly. Neither does Paul, in 2 Thes. 1. Nor does he in 1 Thes. 4 & 5. Jesus teaches that when we see all the signs, we are to flee Jerusalem.

And nowhere in the Bible do we see a blissful time of perfect fulfilment of all the promises culminating in a final rebellion. In Rev. 20, the souls of the martyrs lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. The millennium is now.

the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

No. We must not be careless Laodiceans. We must not relax in our prosperity as if prosperity in this life is God's special blessing.
