Holy Spirit and the Rapture

I believe that the INFLUENCE of the Holy Spirit indwelling the Church will be removed at the time of the Rapture. Since the Holy Spirit is God, He is omnipresent, He will not disappear. He will work as He did during the OT time...He will not INDWELL those who get saved during the tribulation, but He will COME UPON those people.

I agree

Most teach the Holy Ghost is removed when the Rapture takes place. They say this is why the devil and wickedness runs rampant at that time.

However, the idea the Holy Ghost is removed from the earth and yet there are to be many saved at the same time doesn't agree with what Scripture says regarding the Holy Ghost and salvation.

John, I used to quote 2 Thes. 2:6&7 for the very reason you mention but, the Holy Ghost is very God and present everywhere. The only thing which would make that assumption correct is if the triune God we worship took out the WORK of the Holy Spirit. That is, He is still present but not doing the same thing.

“God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” – Hebrews 2:4

I'm busy with another study and hope to begin eschatology next. Then I'll better be able to contribute to many of these interesting discussions.

The Plymouth Brethren do. I spent a number of years in the Brethren and that is what they always taught at the time. What they teach now, I don't know. They were very exclusive at the time, but now the church I went to is a major player in Churches together.

They based their teaching on mis-applying Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

As you know they pope of the brethren, J N Darby was the inventor of dispensationalism.

I never met or heard of J N Darby before.

Dispensationalism is a basic system of interpretation adopted by many denominations and groups, it only makes sense that there are going to be variations. This is just an example of that.

I remember working with a group of Church of Christ guys. At the same time there were charismatics and some other modern day Christians. There were also other KJVO Baptist there too, it was crazy - everyone had a religion (we even had a Buddhist!) The CoC guys always leveled the accusation at us that because we had disagreements among us that that proved our system of Christianity to be false and that everyone should convert to waterdogism. I told them that our differences just illustrated the freedom of thought amongst us and that we were not held hostage by a clone factory.

I’m not saying the other systems are clone factories, but in-house debates and discussion between dispensationalists certainly do not negate the underlying system.

Now it is time for me to step out of my shell and let go... I AM STRICT KJV!... In scripture God said he would preserve his word... Well did he or didn't he?... If there is every translation under the sun, then he didn't but I KNOW HE DID!... The preserved word of God called the KJV is for the English people has been around for over 400 years and what is interesting to me, is the KJV was translated in 1611 and the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock in 1620... Coincidence?... A new book the preserved KJV word of God for the New World... So take that you KJV naysayers... I have been reading, studying and digging through the KJV for over 50 years... My belief is 100% Christ and scripture says so... Glad to be here and its time to take these shackles off!
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Praise God I found such a powerhouse of the outpouring of His Spirit and unapologetic in regards of the defense of the KJV Bible. When I became a Christian back in 1984, I was told to get & read the KJV. It's been my choice all these years.
