  1. I have read most of the responds to the question of “was the KJV inspired”, but why is it when those quote All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2Ti 3:16

They never quote verse 15: And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2Ti 3:15

Paul states that Tim had the Scriptures from a child. Did little Tim have the original autographs? Lucky kid.

The words inspiration and preservation are not the same, they are not spelled the same neither do they mean the same. If I had the original model T ford and kept it up would I not be preserving it? Even if I did not build it. (poor example ).

And when it comes to the translators and inspiration, I do not believe the Holy Spirit was not interested or at Burger King have a Coke.

God is sovereign and is the God of history as well. Example below.

The KJV would not exist if the Spanish Armada (1588) had been successful it would have turned England into Roman Catholic country like under Bloody Mary and if Guy Fawkes’ Gunpowder plot (1605) sponsored my Rome would have been successful and King James 1 killed there would be no KJV for it was he that that gave permission to have the work done (1604). England than would be under the Papist

Do think it was an after thought that in their Dedicatory they wrote “ if on the one side we shall be traduced by Popish persons at home or abroad, who therefore will maligne us, because we are poore Instruments to make GODS holy Trueth to be yet more and more knowen unto the people”.

This is the God of history

And yes I have heard Saint Ruckman speak on this matter and I never heard him say that the KJV was inspired, but preserve in the form God wanted you to have. There is a difference. Things that are different are not the same.

I called Bro. Ruckman a SAINT because I knew it would frost some one’s buns.

John Rice was a saint and so are you if you are saved. And yes I know of the history of the KJV leading up to 1769.

Like I wrote before the man that convinced me to this position was J.J. Ray who wrote God wrote only one Bible (1956) so I guess this makes me a Rayite. I do not believe Dr. Ruckman wrote anything before that.

      Good evening Brother West,

Good point about Timothy not having the originals but still having the holy scriptures.  And, yes, I see God's hand clearly in history - bringing major events into alignment in order for the KJV to be translated as it was - Tydale's work, the Greek manuscripts coming from Turkey to England, the invention of the printing press, the perfection of the English language, the parallel upbringing of the linguistic giants who became the translators, and on and on.

I believe that the KJV is perfect; containing no errors whatsoever. I hold this position as a matter of childlike faith in God's promises and an understanding of the history surrounding the translation.  And there are other factors that have convinced me of this.  English became the most common language in the world - I don't believe that that is a coincidence.

I was not persuaded in this matter by the late Peter Ruckman either. Although I read the works of many men, I came to my own conclusion based upon fasting, prayer, objective study and faith.

      Thanks much for your post.
