  1. Very good. I like it. Good for him not taking the poison jab they were trying to require.
  2. That's feasible as well. We don't have the specifics, only what they saw and understood it to be at that time.
  3. Some of my college professors said they believed it was an analogy for a meteor shower with meteors of enormous size. I'm not sure I agree, but, it sounded feasible.
  4. I agree! I had to skip every time he spoke in chapel after that. I got demerits for it, but, it was well worth it! I dropped out of his class as well.
  5. I've heard my share as well. One of my college professors said in a chapel service one time that if a burlesque house had a good hamburger he'd go there regardless of what people thought. Nice thing for a New Mexico pastor say, right? That was mild compared to other things stated in chapel services and classes that year.
  6. I can fully agree with this. We had someone come into a church service many years ago with the intent to harm someone who was present (his ex-wife) and a man with a CC permit stopped him quite handily with no danger to others in the congregation.
  7. Interesting....and yes...we often sing in Spanish or French...I know a little German myself as my ancestors on my adoptive fathers side came from Germany.
  8. Thank you for the other reference points. I am familiar with the Baptist Messenger and Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary. I live just two hours from Covenant in Owensboro, Kentucky. I live just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. This whole portion of the US is beautiful. Maybe I should have referred to the excerpts from your book as verbose and unnecessary. Most here who have had any ministerial background should have studied the amillinialist position and understood it's teachings. Personally I see a lot being read into what the Bible says when it comes to amillinialism. Moreso than the dispensationalist teachings. But, as stated, we don't have to agree on the interpretation of every point of doctrine as long as none of it crosses over into an apostates mindset. Again, thanks for the other references. It is appreciated.
  9. This past week I had several phone calls, and in these phone calls, I was told about how each person had shared Jesus and led somebody to the Lord. It got me to thinking. Most Christians say that they believe that Jesus is the Christ, the savior, the Son of the living God. Yet, I find that many don't even take the time to share Jesus with the hurt, broken, and dying people of the world. How long has it been since you shared Jesus with someone? I know that I leave tracts when we go out to eat, or when we are going to have an extended interaction with a cashier or waitpersons. I also try to witness to people I talk to every day. I have even witnessed to people on these robo or unwelcomed calls. Let's be sure to be the Ambassadors we are called to be and present Jesus as he has commanded. Blessings, BT
  10. Robert, I did read your reply, but as I have told you in the past, I am looking for credible, known sources. This is not to detract from your opinion, but, we are already pretty well versed on where you stand when it comes to many of the Biblical positions folks on this forum hold to. I've stated before that when a person has to post long diatribes from their own books instead of outside sources, it makes it nearly impossible for me to take them seriously. This is just where I stand, and I can only speak for myself.
  11. Those who hold to an amillinialist position don't usually explain this well.
  12. Thank you for the response. I'll have to check the source out. Most here hold to the dispensationalist viewpoint. I'm sure you are aware of that by now. But, it never hurts to have another's point of view out there.
  13. Sorry, but I'm going to need sources other than yourself. We already know your bias here. Thanks for your cooperation.
  14. Good definitions. May we all try to be open, honest, loving and forgiving towards others knowing that Christ has forgiven each of us and loved us unconditionally and made us joint heirs with himself. Blessings and love to all my Brothers and Sisters here on OB. BT
  15. Update... Well, I have my new dentures. My face is black and blue and I have a bottom plate that keeps slipping. But, that's normal for now. I'm having to learn to adjust to these new plates and how they're different from my own teeth. I have to wear the plates until May 26th before removing them. The dentist wants to do that and will check on how my gums are healing. It's been quite an experience... I'm only able to eat really soft foods and soup. That won't hurt me any, though. Please pray that I can adjust quickly to these changes and be able to get my speech back on track. I've got some recording to do pretty soon, so I will need to be in top voice and speech. Thanks in advance. BT
  16. I've got friends that do this, and a baby brother who is in the entertainment industry. He does this at times. I have thought about putting a cd of this kind of music out myself. Maybe someday.
  17. I believe he's addressing Dr Morley.
  18. Thank you. I didn't reveal that for pity but to help others to realize that recovery can come through the Lord and that we are responsible to forgive and move on with our lives. We forgive for us, not for them. They may never be sorry for what they did. That's between them and the Lord.
  19. I have on many occasions. As Christians we don't have to agree on the soteriology to gain insight on other doctrines. I believe Alaister Begg is a man of great spiritual insight. I get his devotional every morning, along with a reading from Spurgeon.
  20. True. Most do. But some are just being hard to get along with when they refuse to do so.
  21. I disagree. I've seen other denominations baptism being accepted into Baptist churches, and vice versa, but only after investigation into the doctrinal closeness to what Baptists preach and believe. I've also gone from one church to another by just a statement of faith because the former church didn't like losing another family to another local church. Nothing nefarious about the practice.
  22. I agree. Many are and are crying "abuse" for everything. That's unacceptable. I was physically abused in the IFB churches when I was younger, beaten up by a pastor, mentally abused, as well as spiritual abuse from the man. Yet, I don't go around every day whining about it. We are responsible for how we respond and recover.
  23. That shouldn't happen when transferring from one Baptist Church to another.
  24. I wasn't trying to be abusive to anyone. I was just pointing out that the Dr wasn't using good reasoning by adding hypotheticals to the conversation, especially by bringing a dead dictator into the conversation.
