I hate to say it, but I doubt this is true. The Bible says not to rely on the arm of flesh....We are to rely on Christ and his promise that nothing will prevail against the church he has founded. So, instead of going after the Taliban, Isis and Al Quada we should have just let the attacks on 9/11 go....I see. We should have gone in with the ONE objective of ending these groups permanently and finding Osama Bin Laden and taking him out, then getting out. We shouldn't be nation building. Seems like lately we can't take care of our own nation, and allowing the Taliban to take back over in the capital of Afghanistan is just more proof of this administrations failed policies...At least the previous admiistration had a more measured response to leaving on a timely basis.

You seem like you want to play the part ot the Holy Ghost. Maybe you should leave that to HIM. Dr. Evans has written a lot of good material, preached many great, theologically sound messages, been in the ministry for over 40 years. I don't see him as an "emerging church" leader. Nobody is going to agree with Baptists on every single point of doctrine, but it doesn't make them wrong. Maybe you need to stop and consider that before you start throwing around accusation and castin aspersions on a persons character and salvation.

BB, you can post all the stuff from Ascension Health and WGN talk radio in Murfreesboro...They've been proven to not always be reliable...either one of them. Back in 2015 when my wife was taken to what was then the Murfreeboro Hospital after nearly being killed in an auto accident, they refused to admit her stating that she wouldn't make it...they just gave up....Typical of the medical people I've found in this area. WGN is nothing but a bunch of "hot air." I used to listen to it when we first moved here in 1995, but it didn't take long to realize they were somewhat "bogus." And believe me, many doctors wouldn't and DON'T agree with Ascension's assessment of the situation....they want more of that government money, ya know!

I think the word "heretic" is often thrown around far too quickly and easily. It's an overused word. This is the first book of Dallas Willard's that I'm reading, and only because it's part of an instructional session. He's got a lot of good material in the book, and I know how to discern between good and bad doctrine, as I'm sure others do as well. If you feel like this thread is misleading, you might be the only one. I simply asked a question and mentioned the books I was reading. I find this typical HYPER-fundamentalist in attitude...I'm sure you've probably read books that didn't fit every detail of Baptist doctrine. Take the meat and leave the bone.
