  3. So, even the pro-Trump, anti-Biden company recounting the vote came to the same conclusion, Biden won. Indeed, their draft report widens Biden's victory by over 300 votes. So much for Trump and his big lie. NBC affiliate KPNX of Phoenix said that it obtained a copy of the report and that the review widens Biden's victory margin by 360 votes. https://www.aol.com/news/maricopa-county-draft-cyber-ninjas-041900163.html
  4. Guess you missed my post. I was saved, probably before you were born.
  5. And what does all that have to do with having personal standards that I do not expect of others?
  6. No, my reply was nothing about getting into heaven. I was on how I hold myself to a higher standard than i do others. After reflection I realized that the scripture I try to live in interacting with others is the Golden Rule. By what scripture do you try to live in interacting with others?
  7. BT, oh, I didn't take offense. She has ask before. I just thought I'd return the favor. I guess she forgot she had ask previously. I note she has not answered my question. I was saved before most folk on the board were born. Oh, I see it. Now give yourself several days of time out for shouting. It is offensive and impolite. Now, please answer my question. Why should that affect the standards I hold myself to. What standards would you have me lower? Do you try to live by the Golden Rule?
  8. BT, I was replying to Pastor Matt. No secret. It is daily living as Christ-like as I possibly can. Do you? Did you notice that upon further reflection I said the scripture is the Golden Rule ... and I quoted the KJV of that rule. Did you not notice that?
  9. As usual, you avoid a direct answer. And please answer this question that I have asked before in this thread. Why should the pastoral qualifications given in the Bible make me not expect more of myself than of others?
  10. Because living as Christ-like a life as possible means I do not have to worry about thinking, 'What scripture can I use to justify this.' Well, God may expect more of pastors and deacons, but that does not mean I expect more of them than of myself. I do not. I expect more of myself. I should have thought longer on the scripture before replying. Regardless, the Golden Rule is what I strive to live by. Do you? Why would not any Christian not be expected to do differently. I did ask what scripture you used to justify your actions and dealings with others. I note, you did not answer. Why not? I have no idea what you mean by 'authority.' Please enlighten me. Thanks. Are you? Do you try to always find a scripture before you act?
  11. BT and Jerry, What scripture do you look to to justify the standard you hold yourself to? Thinking about it I would say the Golden Rule. Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you: do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. But, don't expect others to treat you that well.
  12. True, BT and that preparing should equip them to carry Christ to their workplace or wherever they go. Do you agree?
  13. Do you need a specific scripture to believe you should hold yourself to a high standard? Isn't it common sense if you are a Christian? What scripture do you use to justify the standard you hold for yourself? Nasty photo. Abusive.
  14. I don't need scripture. Part of my personal beliefs is that we are each responsible for ourselves. Don't worry about others. Put no one on a pedestal and expect more of them than of yourself. It is also my personal belief that if you are a Christian you are a minister. There are ministers who are hired by the church. Their job is to prepare the other ministers (all of us) for our ministries in the world. They cannot go into all the areas of our worlds. Only we can and it is our job to minister there. For instance, where I worked no one without a clearance could come into the building. My pastor/preacher could not enter. Thus, it was up to other Christians who worked there to take Christ into that building. That does not mean I should expect more of them than of myself.
  15. Be sure to remember to expect less of your pastor than of your yourself.
  16. Thanks for the update, though I am sorry to hear the news. I have been praying for him and his family.
  17. BT, I am so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law and his family. Will pray for him as well as the others.

  21. And Jesus called Peter to task for using his sword. Nowhere does Christ condone killing others. Indeed, the Bible and Christ teaches pacificism. Proverbs 25 21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, 22 for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you. Christ said to love your enemy turn the other cheek go the extra mile. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. Nothing in Jesus Sermon on the Mount gives permission to kill. Either put your faith in Christ or in your weapons. You cannot do both. Jesus denied using violence. John 18:36 ESV / 270 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”
  22. No one. But the woman in the photo is holding an assault rifle and a Bible. The only purpose of this rifle is to kill people. So, as she is holding a Bible I want to know where in the Bible it is justified to kill people. Can you give me an answer? To' me it is a sin to show the Bible and at the same time show it is acceptable to kill people. Show me where in the Bible this would be acceptable.
  23. When and where did Jesus tell his disciples that it was OK to kill someone?
