best?   Healing is still possible,  even or especially for the very poor,  the ones who trust Jesus.
worse?  It is not politically correct, nor politically nor medically permitted to introduce healing anywhere the government is in control.  (control seems to be usually by money/profit) ....

And then there are the millions of dollars, or billions perhaps, of dollars of opiates and other drugs brought back through military channels and others opened up by the 'war' ,  to young people and old people in the Untied states causing more harm than good.    The ones who made a lot of money or wanted more power and had the power to do so started the war(s),  and made massive amounts of money.
Some who went without the wrong motives of course ,  but many went AWOL when they found out they were just killing innocent people over there and protecting the opium crops.
They might have been brave,  yes.   But the reason they were sent there was not the reason they went there, if they were honest folk,  unaware of the powers in control and the purpose of the war(s) and action(s).

Wonderful !    Too many others in multitudes, in many places, and in small groups or one by one,
were (apparently) converted , they thought and still continue to think,  by false gospels and false messages and false teachers.
Continue always seeking God's Kingdom and His Righteousness in harmony with all of His Word,  and never stop seeking Truth (Jesus),  and trust our Father in heaven to Accomplish everything as written concerning Salvation.  Yes, do what Jesus says to His disciples >  trust the Father in heaven always, as Jesus taught His disciples , confirmed by His Word as Revealed by the Father.

For what reason did Jesus Messiah instruct His own disciple:  you must become like infants/ little children or you will never see the Kingdom of Heaven ?
We are to be like little 3 year olds walking along trusting our Heavenly Father all the time for all of our lives and everything in our lives, as Jesus does and did.
Just like a 3 year old with his dad walking along,  seeing an object laying on the sidewalk, or something in the grass or in the street that is new to him/us/ we look up at our Dad and He Knows we want His Word , His Approval, His Permission if it is allowed to pick up the object, to know whether it be good or bad, right or wrong, helpful or valuable or harmful or to be left alone at once (don't dwell on wicked ways with sinful men or their objects).
So we remain in union with the Father in heaven , in Christ Jesus, Daily,  Seeking His Appraisal of everything before we mess with it, pick it up, consider it, study it, have it, or even desire it.

People are tricked into thinking the 'legal' pharmaceutical industry is somehow beneficial ?
People usually don't think the drug trade in opium and heroin and such is beneficial at all,  except the ones making billions of dollars a day or week or whatever in it.
Soldiers of every rank reported the massive drug trade / channels / at all the wars we participated in since the Korean War or thereabout,  maybe more.  (i.e. it is not a secret at all)

Many thousands, even millions of dollars more is spent willy nilly every year for decades now,
"defending" murderers, rapists,  terrorists,  in the so-called 'legal system' of the untied states.
Many millions or maybe billions of dollars are spent by every administration for the last 4 or more decades as far as I know,  on performing abortions,  and perhaps billions more on the care required by those who were tricked into getting an abortion by the enemy of Christ and people of the usa.
So why should anyone at all even think for one second about what you claim is a "serious subject" ?  When so many other things desperately more serious are happening EVERY DAY !?

Sorry I am in the UK and I have a former foster son who lives in Henderson, and I am trying to get him to find a church.  When he was with us he came to church with us and and one time professed faith, he joined the local Male Voice Praise Choir and even sang with them at the Royal Albert hall when he was 12.  But he has gone far away from the Lord, although I send him a message on his birthday  earlier this month and said we were praying for him every day, and he replied that he appreciated that.
Sorry that I didn't make that clear.  He is planning to come over next year and says he will visit us but he has done that before and then only visited his birth family. although my eldest daughter met him in London.  She also flew out to be with him for three months when his wife had their first child.

Why don't we just do this:

Gap theorists, please proivide the clear verses that prove a gap. Don't give us your interpretation or your explanation, just give the clear scripture that gives us a gap.

For the proof against it, I provide ALL of Genesis 1, into Genesis 2, as taken at face value, disproves a gap. Seven days, six of creation from "God created the heaven and the earth", to "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."

I also provide, at the giving of the Sabbath, in Ex 20, one reason for the Sabbath was the creation week: "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."   Ex 31: 17: "It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed."

In SIX days, the earth, the heaven, specifically meaning not just heaven as we think it, but literally the space to put eveything in, and the sea. Six days, no room for anything before it.

Fred Luter, newly-elected President of the SBC, said, "We can't reach an iPod generation with 8 track ministries"

Sadly, this seems to be the mindset of many, despite the fact that we are told to seek the ways of the Lord.

When Jesus walked this Earth 2000 years ago, He did not conform to this world's religious system, but rather He sought to do the will of His Father. We are told to do the same.

So many would rather bring the world into the Church and thereby defile the Church. The Church is slowly becoming conformed to the ways of the world and such a move is not pleasing to God. "Be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

We are to reach the world, but we cannot dismiss God's way in our efforts to reach it. God has His way laid out in His Holy Word. We must reach the lost through God's methods or we have not reached them at all. If we bring the world's ways into the Church, we defile the Church and only accomplish deceiving the world into thinking they are accepted of the Father. In reality, we have only given them an appearance of godliness and piety on the outside while the inside is still unclean.

Light has no fellowship with darkness. Fred Luter may think he can compromise and "reach an iPod generation" by conforming to their ways, but in reality, he is hurting them.

Nutritional supplements (aka vitamins & herbs) existed long before New Age devotees co-opted them. As did exercise and proper (natural) diet. We need to be careful not to get involved with New Age gunk, but we also need to be careful not to just lump it all together. As to homeopathy...if you know anyone who uses nitro-glycerin for heart issues, or someone who has malaria and needs quinine: those are both homeopathic remedies that were taken by the AMA and "normalized".

Discernment is necessary, as is not just falling into the trap of declaiming things that are not the way "normal" medicine is today (remember - medicine as we know it was not practiced in this way years ago...I'll take homeopathy over blood-letting [which was one of the things that prompted the discovery of homeopathy] any day) are wrong. Chiropractic care used to be lumped in with New Age practices, too. I wouldn't be walking (that is no exaggeration) if it weren't for chiropractic care. (I realize that "our experiences" don't make a practice right or wrong - but nowhere in the Bible can anyone show that natural care is wrong at its root)

And not all health food stores are even subtly New Age. There are some that are run by Christians who are careful what they order. Granted, they are rare, but they do exist. That said, I do think this man's methods are not all they should be...
