Could I suggest you to you, that rather than worrying about fasting and such like, you go right back to basics and  read through some passages like:
    Rom 3:23
    (23)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Think about what that verse is actually saying, and ask if it applies to you as well.
For the ones that the first verse there applies to, they need to look at verses like:
    Rom 6:23
    (23)  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
I would like you to note that as the verse is talking about opposites, the "death" spoken of is the same as the "Life" spoken of in one respect - it is eternal.
Where does that leave the one who the first verse applies to?
Is there a solution to that problem?
    Joh 3:16-18
    (16)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    (17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
    (18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

So if God sent His son to offer eternal life to sinners through their belief in Him, what does that look like? How does a sinner "believe" properly? What does it take?
    Rom 10:9-13
    (9)  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
    (10)  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    (11)  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
    (12)  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
    (13)  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Consider these passages, and maybe read through the book of John - but consider these passages, what they are saying and does any of that apply to you, and should you pay attention to what it is saying?
Can I let you in on a little secret? These passages absolutely apply to me.

This is far more important that any discussion you might have on fasting - but if you really want those answers - the simple explanation is to abstain from something so that you may concentrate on worshipping the Lord. It is often food, but doesn't have to be.
But the other verses I mentioned are by far the most important thing to study (and there are more to consider as well, but that is a basic starting point).

"But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also" (Acts 17:5-6 KJV).

"Correlating the two concepts" of  "God choosing us before the foundation of the world" with "our responsibility to trust Him" is a non-issue. God's choosing us for salvation is not even what Ephesians 1:4 is about: the point of God's choice is  "......that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.”. Ephesians 1:4 actually can be explained more with Matthew 5:43-48 and 1 John chapter 4. Because love is God's very nature and it is God Himself who predetermined that we be as He is; that is, we are to walk in love, to love not only our loved ones, but our neighbor and even our enemies. God knows who will be saved and who will not, but that doesn't stop Him from loving those enemies and from drawing them to Himself anyway because Matthew 5:43-48 says so. I find no problem "correlating two concepts" because no such two concepts exist.

    Eph 4:26
    (26)  Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

It is possible to be angry without sinning, but I doubt it is possible for me personally...……….
At least every time I have been angry, if I am honest I can find sin in my anger.
But if anyone could be angry and sin not it would be God.
And if you look at the situation of the flood:
    Gen 6:5-6
    (5)  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
    (6)  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

God had every right to be angry because " the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
Now we get into deeper theology when we are talking God repenting as mentioned in this passage. If God was the Calvinist God who absolutely determined that men would follow his will in a predeterministic way, then you would have a place to hold your argument.
However, if God had determined that men would be able to act according to their own will, then we have room for God to "repent". He was sorry that he made man, because man chose to sin - He therefore chose Noah and his sons, and their wives,  who found grace in the eyes of the Lord, to "restart things" (if you will allow that terminology). It was not God's direct will that man become wicked and evil continually - that was man's choice.
When man chose that way, God was sorry for it. God did not change, God's overall plan did not change, God's will did not change, but when man chose to sin, it made God sorry.
He was always God who wanted man to choose to love Him, and He still is. Just as a father is sorry when his child chooses to do wrong, so also God is sorry for it.

Baptist_Bible_Believer got a reaction from Gud4U in Why questions:
    1) Repentance speaks of a change of mind. It isn't that God changed His mind as though He had made a mistake, but that man's actions caused Him to change His plan for man--which was to be good and blessing to a curse because they rejected Him. The same can be said toward you and I who are 'condemned already' according to John 3:18, but when we receive Christ His plan changes from eternal separation from Him to eternal salvation through His Son.

    2) It would help if you give the address of your concern, but the one I am thinking of was when God told Moses He was going to destroy the stiff-necked children of Israel after they built their golden calf. In actuality, God knew how that would turn out as Moses interceded for the people and won their reprieve. It was more designed to strengthen Moses' faith--as the result shows..

    3) The bow in the sky was a reminder to us of God's promise to never destroy the world in the same way again. God remembers not in the sense that He forgets, but that it ever speaks of the covenant between Him and Noah. As for my part, I am glad that He remembers the Blood that His Son shed for me.

"I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth" (Genesis 9:13-17 KJV).

Babies will be born during the Millennium, so I don't see why the natural reproductive process should cease during the 7-year Tribulation. The question is how many will survive. It might stand to reason that pregnancies carried to term during the last 3 1/2 years amidst the quakes and severe judgments would not be the norm, though.

    I beg to differ.
First, you are trying to make your own facts, using your own reasoning, to make a forced interpretation. You are judging us by your own two "facts." Whether or not there is a scripture verse, as you say, "rescinding" worshipping on the Sabbath day is immaterial to the saints in the New Testament church.
Also, It seems to me that you are making it an issue, and judging us, to require the New Testament saint to worship on the Jewish Sabbath: Saturday, the sixth day. And, to state that the "status quo" is still in place. To me, this is a forced interpretation, an error, not binding on any saint, and is against the words of Paul the Apostle in Colossians 2:16
Did not Paul plainly state, "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days." Colossians 2:16
Like the Seventh Day Adventists, it seems to me that you are forcing your own interpretations on the Sabbath issue and judging those who do not worship on the Sabbath.

I must admit that I have never truly understood the full meaning of this verse, but God says it is so. Certainly one meaning has to be there is a great delight to suddenly wake up and no longer be sick and dying, to begin our second childhood.

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints" (Psalms 116:15 KJV).

It probably means that the Father is just happy to have another one of His saints to come on home.

Father, bless dear Dr. Baity who will have to go on alone for a little while, comfort him as You have comforted me, and other men that have lost their helpmeet through death, and help him to carry on. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I would add that it is nice to be able to be a part of a group that loves the Lord and sound biblical doctrine. The worst thing for a Bible believer is to visit a site where it is more than obvious that biblical doctrine is despised because every one "hath a doctrine,  hath  a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation" and none of it is based on a "Thus saith the Lord," but a "what I think it should be," "or how I feel about this or that." It doesn't take too long to get into trouble when one quotes the Bible like it is a final authority or something.

Praise the Lord for a place "for brethren to dwell together in unity!"

Praying that God will lead, guide and direct you to the church He would have you join. When you find one, unless you know it immediately, take a few weeks to visit and watch and listen. Meet with the pastor . . . though he'll likely initiate a meeting himself. You'll do best by attending all services and hopefully establish that as a pattern. Certainly, visit with his wife for she likely have much wisdom to share. Also praying that your husband will get right with the Lord and find a place where he can grow in the Lord.

That's okay. I don't even agree with myself half the time. I should probably have said that the church was "empowered" on the day of Pentecost . . . when was it "established"? I agree with you in the sense that there is no verse we can point to which states, on this day I establish the institution which will be known as my body and my bride. But we know it was future in Matthew 16 and present in Acts.

HMMMM, BBB, good points, however, I personally believe that the church was started before Pentecost, but not in Matthew 16, John 20 IMHO.  Matthew 16 is a promise for the future and in Acts 2, the church had to be there already, since folk were added to it.  Speaking of adding, if I may do so, I'd like to add a link to a message I brought along those lines a while back from Colossians 1, if you please.  I don't have it all figured out at all, but I believe this will further explain things and be a help/blessing.  Sunday, May 6, 2018 http://jeremiah616.sermon.net/main/main/21147528

Men fall. I hope he finds the help he needs to be restored in his walk with the Lord, though I would not advocate for his return to any pulpit. I am not certain I understand why he is controversial. I did a search and saw that he took a stand against sodomites. That does not make him controversial in my mind, just naming sin. Under the circumstances--though it by no means excuses him--he looks like it could have been a setup. My prayer is that God will save his marriage and his family. I am glad that God thought of all of us when He had it to be written: "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again" (Proverbs 24:16 KJV).
