  1. I am a Catholic who embraced Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I attend Saturday Vigil Mass at the local Catholic parish. I also attend the local Baptist Church every Sunday morning. In May 2017 I was Baptized via immersion at that Baptist Church as a public profession of faith that I had given my life to Christ. In September 2017 I took a 10 week membership preparation class from the Pastor of that Baptist Church. In January 2018 I went before the congregation and gave my testimony in how I received salvation. I was then voted in as a member by the congregation and the Elders. I am an usher at that Baptist Church. I attend Adult Sunday School before worship at that Baptist Church. I am growing spiritually at that Baptist Church. I am both Catholic and Baptist since I am a Baptized member of both the Catholic Church and the local Baptist Church.
  2. I am not hedging my bets. And the Word of God is good enough for me. I don't believe that nonsense about Saint Peter standing at the Pearly Gates deciding who enters Heaven. Jesus is the one who decides who enters Heaven. The way Jesus decides who enters Heaven is when one stands before Him He asks them if they had given their life to Him by accepting Him as their Savior and Lord. If I gave my life to Christ some 20 years ago during an Altar Call and placed my trust entirely in Jesus alone for salvation then I am saved. If I was not really saved then Pastor Steve of River of Life Church(where I attend on Sunday mornings) would not have accepted that I am really saved and a proper candidate for Baptism(I was Baptized via immersion on 21 May after worship) after asking me if I had accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. River of Life Church where I attend on Sunday mornings is a New Testament church that preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation. Pastor Steve preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation in his sermons every Sunday. You don't believe that then go to the churches website www. rolchastings.org and listen to Pastor Steve's sermons. I own and read the King James Version of the Holy Bible. I also own and read the Catholic Version of the Holy Bible. So I believe that the King James Version and the Catholic Version are the infallible and inspired Word of God. The only version of the Bible out there that is not the inspired and infallible Word of God is the Jehovah Witness version.
  3. Yes if you stated that the 'Jesus' you had been referring to was a giraffe at London zoo called 'Jesus' then Pastor Steve would question you being a member of that church. I do not believe that it would be cause for concern in Pastor Steve's mind if he was cognizant of the fact that I would be a member of a second church with some different doctrines then his church.
  4. I am currently unemployed and residing in a homeless shelter for men in the small town I reside in where every men does not have to leave in the morning but can remain on the premises all day. Other homeless shelters in the big town 20 miles away kick out the homeless in the morning. I am only getting 97 dollars a month in EBT Cash Support and 30 dollars a month goes to pay the cell phone bill. But I am looking for a full time Data Entry or other clerical position in the small town I reside in. If I am not yet a member of that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings then I do not see the reason to put more than a nickel in the collection plate at a time.
  5. I should have been more specific and state that some months at that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings I only put a nickel in the collection basket once a month and other months I put a nickel in twice a month. Since I am not yet a member of that Baptist church as I have not taken membership preparation class than I do not want to donate more than a nickel at a time. But when I do become a member of that Baptist church than I will donate a dollar every Sunday.
  6. River of Life Church where I attend on Sunday mornings does preach the truth of the Bible. Pastor Steve preaches the truth of the Bible every Sunday in his sermons.
  7. Pastor Steve of River of Life Church where I attend on Sunday mornings preaches that salvation comes by grace through faith alone in Jesus. Listen to some of his sermons on that website www.rolchastings.org and he preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation. I have an Independent Baptist guy friend who stated he accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord during an Altar Call at his Independent Baptist Church when he was 12 years old and was Baptized via immersion at his Independent Baptist Church. His Independent Baptist minister asked him the same question that I was asked before he was Baptized and that is did he accept Jesus as his Personal Savior and Lord. On the website rolchastings.org it states "River of Life Church is a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ. We seek to follow Him and bring glory to God. Our purpose is to tell people the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ and help them grow into faithful followers of Him.".
  8. Answering more of the questions from above. Since I am at present only on the membership roll of the local Catholic parish then I give money every Saturday. But since I am at present not on the membership roll of that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings then I only put a nickel in the collection plate 2 times a month. But after I take membership preparation class at the Baptist church and become a member a member than I will give money every Sunday. I accept the King James Version as the Word of God just like I accept the Catholic Version as the Word of God. No that Baptist Church does not go door to door but they have Gospel Tracts available to leave around town. I do my witnessing via written communication on discussion forums by telling Catholics and others that the only way of becoming saved is by accepting Jesus as ones Savior and Lord and putting ones trust entirely in Him alone for salvation. The scriptural Catholic doctrines and parts of the Mass are the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God, that Jesus is God Incarnate, that Jesus was Crucified, in the Resurrection of Jesus, the Sign of the Cross, the Apostles and Nicene Creeds, the Gloria(prayer to the Holy Trinity), prayers to Jesus, the Lord's Prayer, the words of Jesus from the Last Supper.
  9. Hey dope, I have always believed in and worshiped the biblical and historical Jesus as God. And the Apostles and Nicene Creeds state "We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God". Does that sound like a false jesus? Only a dope believes the Catholic Church believes in and worships a false jesus and not the biblical and historical Jesus as God. I did repent in November 1997 when I came under the prompting of the Holy Spirit to accept the biblical and historical Jesus as my Savior and Lord during an Altar Call at a Non Denominational Church. And after that moment I started to trust entirely in Jesus alone for salvation. And I was Baptized via immersion(as a public profession of faith that I gave my life to Christ) on 21 May of this year after worship at that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings. I have a lady friend at that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings and her Catholic father accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord before he passed away last December and thus went to Heaven. That lady friend also stated that she believes that her deceased Catholic father had worshiped the biblical and historical Jesus as God at his Catholic parish.
  10. That Evangelical Protestant Church I attend on Sunday mornings is listed in the local yellow pages under Baptist. Pastor Steve is an ordained Baptist minister and everybody in the congregation states that they are Baptist and refers to that church as a Baptist church. Well everybody in Hell is eternally separated from God. Pastor Steve preaches about Hell and states it is a real, physical place of eternal torment in fire where the unsaved go. Pastor Steve preaches in his sermons the biblical doctrine of salvation that salvation comes through accepting Jesus as ones Savior and Lord. When I met with Pastor Steve in April to arrange the Baptism I was asked if I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. And when I answered in the affirmative then Pastor Steve accepted that I was really saved and a proper candidate for Baptism. Listen to some of Pastor Steve's sermons on www. rolchastings.org to find out that he preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation to shut you up with your insanity that he does not preach the biblical doctrine of salvation.
  11. I was not Confirmed in the Catholic Church when I was a teenager because I chose not to be Confirmed as a teenager as I was too busy with homework to take the required lessons to be Confirmed in the Catholic Church. I waited until I was almost 24 years old to be Confirmed. And I had to take lessons for several weeks once a week after I came home from working half days. The lessons were given at the local Catholic parish in the previous town I resided in and were given by a nun since I was the only adult getting Confirmed. At that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings anybody who has accepted Jesus as their Savior and Lord is permitted to receive the Lord's Supper. The Pastor just states that if anybody knows they have some sin that they have not confessed to Jesus to do so before receiving the Lord's Supper.
  12. I was not growing in Christ but remaining still in Christ at the local Catholic parish because I chose not to get involved in any church activities at the local Catholic parish. But when I started to attend River of Life Church I started to grow in Christ because I like the Adult Sunday School before worship, the fellowship before worship, the worship service and the sermons of Pastor Steve and the lunches from time to time after worship. I am choosing to remain in the Catholic Church because I like the liturgical worship. I also like the non liturgical worship of River of Life Church I attend on Sunday mornings.
  13. River of Life Church(where I attend on Sunday morning) and Pastor Steve teach the biblical doctrine of salvation by stating that salvation comes by accepting Jesus as ones Savior and Lord and putting ones trust entirely in Him alone for salvation. Listen to some of Pastor Steve's sermons on the website for River of Life Church(www.rolchastings.org) to find out that that Pastor Steve preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation in his sermons. I know if I died today I would go to Heaven because I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord and I put my trust entirely in Him alone for salvation.
  14. I read Way of Life:Friday Church News Notes every Friday online. I find it very informative and interesting.
  15. I mean by that I gave my life to Christ that I prayed to Him and asked Him to come into my heart and become my Savior, Lord and King. If I was asked by someone "Hey how can I get all my sins forgiven?" I would respond to pray to Jesus and ask Him to come into your heart and become your Savior, Lord and King and then to ask Jesus for forgiveness of sins. I only put this thread under false religion because there was no section titled "other denominations" to put this thread under. I consider the Catholic Church to be partially false and not entirely false since there are some scriptural Catholic doctrines and scriptural parts of the Mass.
  16. How many times does this have to be stated? The Jesus the Catholic Church believes in and worships is not a false Jesus but is the biblical and historical Jesus. The Apostles and Nicene Creeds state "We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God". Does that sound like a false Jesus? And when I receive the bread and the chalice of wine during Mass I do not believe the Catholic doctrine of Holy Communion. I accept the Lutheran doctrine of Holy Communion instead. And when I receive the bread and the chalice of wine during Mass I believe I am receiving Holy Communion the way the Lutheran Church teaches and not the way the Catholic Church teaches. I also accept the Baptist teaching on the Holy Communion. I have received Holy Communion about 5 times at River of Life Church since I started attending there last September.
  17. I would not tell my Baptist pastor of my membership in the Catholic Church. And I was Baptized and raised Catholic from the time I was born and thus I am not a Catholic convert. I don't believe that if the priest found out that I reject some Catholic doctrines that I would be prohibited from receiving Holy Communion in the Catholic Church. I do not know if the priest and pastor would want to know certain information about my beliefs.
  18. I was raised by Catholic parents to read the Bible almost every day. I know the outline of the Bible so well that I can go any book in the Bible within a matter of seconds. I was also raised by Catholic parents from the age of 8 to watch the Billy Graham Crusades on Television to learn the Evangelical Protestant doctrine of salvation. I don't mix works and grace. I don't mix truth with error. If I attend the local Catholic parish on Saturday's and the local Baptist church(where I was Baptized via immersion on 21 May as a public profession of faith that I gave my life to Christ) on Sunday mornings then I am both Catholic and Baptist.
  19. It is false that River of Life Church has joined the emergent church movement because Pastor Steve spoke out against the emergent church movement in one of his sermons. And in the yellow pages of the telephone book in the town where River of Life Church is located and where I reside River of Life Church is listed under Baptist churches. And everybody there from Pastor Steve to everybody in the congregation states they are Baptists and that River of Life Church is a Baptist church. I feel comfortable attending River of Life Church because Pastor Steve preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation. Listen to some of his sermons on the website and you will find out that he preaches the biblical doctrine of salvation. The website also states they preach the biblical doctrine of salvation. So there is nothing scriptural about the Catholic Church ? The doctrine that Jesus is God is not scriptural? The doctrine that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God is not scriptural? The doctrines that Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead are not scriptural? So there are no scriptural parts of the Mass? Readings from the Bible are not scriptural? The Apostles and Nicene Creeds are not scriptural? Prayers to Jesus are not scriptural? The Gloria Prayer(prayer to the Holy Trinity) is not scriptural? The Lord's Prayer is not scriptural? the words of Jesus from the Last Supper are not scriptural?
  20. Here is the website address for that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings: rolchastings.org to look up their Statement of Faith and other information to prove that they are a biblical Baptist church. I have not and will not share my beliefs with any of the church members of River of Life Church(where I attend on Sunday mornings). I know that other members attend elsewhere as well as at River of Life Church is because I heard one lady state that she attends River of Life Church on Saturday Night Service and then attends another church on Sunday morning and because in the church directory that married couple who attend and are members of both the local Catholic parish and River of Life Church are listed as being members of River of Life Church. I do not defend the unscriptural Catholic doctrines and unscriptural parts of the Mass. I only defend the scriptural Catholic doctrines and scriptural parts of the Mass.
  21. I am following the tenets of that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings. I am not comfortable telling my beliefs to any clergy whether Catholic or Baptist or any other Protestant clergy as I am a very private individual. At that Baptist church I attend on Sunday mornings there is a married couple who attend and are members of both the local Catholic parish and that Baptist church. There are also other members of that Baptist church who also attend and are members of that Baptist church and some other Protestant Church. The Apostles and Nicene Creeds state "We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God". Does that sound like a different Jesus? That is the biblical and historical Jesus mentioned in the Apostles and Nicene Creeds that the Catholic Church worships.
  22. It is false that every Catholic doctrine is unscriptural. There are scriptural Catholic doctrines and scriptural parts of the Mass. The Catholic Church worships the biblical and historical Jesus as God. If a Catholic who is Born Again by reason of having given their life to Christ and they trust entirely in Jesus alone for salvation and they attend both the Catholic and Baptist Churches than they are saved and will enter Heaven when they pass away. Isn't it good enough that I attend a Baptist Church on Sunday mornings without ceasing attending the Catholic Church on Saturdays? It is not required for salvation for one who gave their life to Christ to entirely leave the Catholic Church and only attend a Baptist Church.
  23. I wish to remain in the Catholic Church because I was raised Catholic and I like the liturgical worship. I also like the non liturgical worship of the Baptist Church. I wish to be both Catholic and Baptist.
  24. Of course I did not make my Baptist pastor cognizant that I attend both the Catholic and Baptist Churches as it is none of his business. I don't like to discuss my beliefs that much with clergy. I am growing in Christ at that Baptist Church that I attend on Sunday mornings because I attend Adult Sunday School before worship, I fellowship with the congregation before worship and I am friends with half of the congregation. And I am very involved in various church activities at that Baptist Church from attending Adult Sunday School before worship to going to soup lunches and other meals after worship. Before I started attending that Baptist Church I was not that social and did not make friends easily. It is a lie that every Catholic doctrine is diametrically opposed to Biblical and Baptist doctrines as there are some biblical Catholic doctrines. And Catholics are not unbelievers since they worship Jesus as God. Unbelievers do not worship Jesus as God. Stating that 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 is required for salvation and entering Heaven is adding another requirement onto salvation.
  25. That is so ridiculous. I would never want to attend or even be a member of the Cults of Mormonism and Scientology since they don't worship Jesus as God. But since the Catholic Church worships Jesus as God than it is not a Cult. A Cult is a religious organization and does not worship Jesus as God. That is the definition of a Cult that I got from the late Presbyterian minister D. James Kennedy of Florida.
