Donald.... We will just have to agree to disagree on this as Bro. Cloud (the author) and I both believe that salvation changes people and they do in fact become a disciple of Christ. Perhaps they are not the disciple you and I would have them to be, but salvation changes people. How can one trust Christ for salvation and not be a disciple?  They may be a baby disciple... they may not yet know how to be the disciple you speak of... none-the-less... the heart has been changed and through salvation they repent of themselves and follow Christ.

    Hello Family of God,
The person responsible for hacking my computers in every way possible is relentless in his pursuit (I'm quite certain I know who is responsible); it is my desire that this person repent from his sins before it is too late, because tomorrow in not promised for anyone. It is my desire for this person to come to the realization that the Devil does NOT care for him in the least, and Satan will not be "sharing" his Victory when all is said and done. This person is so hellbent in hindering my ministry that he attempted (many times) to falsely accuse me of doing a bad job at my workplace by tampering with the software which used to perform my work duties.
There is no "reward" for being a slave of Satan, only Everlasting Torment in the Eternal Lake of Fire; for it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God, and knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men. The worst thing anyone can do to you is kill your body, but everyone ought to know that the most dreadful experience one can possibly face for all of Eternity is to face the Judgment and Wrath of the Lord God Almighty, and He alone has the Power to destory the soul and bring it to utter ruin (Heb 10:31; 2 Cor. 5:11; Matt. 10:28).
It is the tragedy of all tragedies what men and women will sacrifice for temporary pleasures in this passing world, and what they are willing to give up for this snare from the Adversary. As the man who laid up earthly treasures only to be told that he will die the same day, and then he will face the God of gods to be sentenced to Eternal Punishment. The final gift from the Devil to the one who was enslaved by him will be packaged as a casket with the body of the one who has "sold" his soul to Satan; and by the way, to "sell" one's soul is a misnomer, because the soul of a man or woman is PRICELESS: which is why the Lord Jesus warned about the irrevocable danger of trading one's eternal soul for fleeting lusts which will ultimately bring unending ruin and corruption.
I truly do care for this person, and I would not wish Everlasting Punishment in Hell and the Eternal Lake of fire to the worst of my enemies. I sincerely pray that the Lord will remove the heart of stone, and give him a heart of flesh. Nobody is "beyond" redemption (as long as there is any remorse or guilt), even if the Devil tries to deceive others that they have crossed their Rubicon, and that God "hates" them, and it is Satan who truly does "care" for them, there may still be hope. Please pray with me that he comes to repentance and give his life over to the Lord before it is too late.
    God Bless!

I can present with irrefutable arguments that proves that a Genuine Believer CANNOT "lose" their Salvation if they have TRULY been born-again. I can also provide using context, exegesis and hermeneutics to prove without any doubt that the Doctrine of Eternal Security is Biblical. Unfortunately, there are those who just want to lure Christians into a trap by denying this precious Truth.
Here is just one out of MANY irrefutable proofs:
"My sheep [HEAR] my voice, and I [KNOW] them, and they [FOLLOW] me: And I give unto them eternal life; and [THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH], neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." (John 10:27-29)
Jesus said that He gives His sheep Eternal Life; but His sheep are the ones who "continually" hear and follow Him; and are known by their Chief Shepherd (Jesus) in the most intimate manner. These are"characteristics" of His sheep, and they will never perish. The words "they shall never perish" (Grk. "kai ou me apolontai eis ton aiona" καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀπόλωνται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα; i.e., "they shall never perish, no not ever") in the Greek grammar is referred to as an emphatic double negative (similar to Verily, Verily) or (e.g., "No, not, ever"). The Greek verbs "hear" (Grk. "akouousin" ἀκούουσιν; i.e., "to obediently listen to the voice of the Chief Shepherd"), "know" (Grk. "ginosko" γινώσκω; i.e., "a deep and intimate understanding of") and "follow" (Grk. "akolouthousin" ἀκολουθοῦσίν; i.e., "to FOLLOW one who LEADS") are all in the present tense, active voice, and the mood is in the indicative (cf. Jn. 8:12). This all suggests that the characteristic's of Jesus sheep will "continue" to "hear, know His voice, and follow" Him.
Some have argued that "as" one of Jesus' sheep, one could ("on their own free will") voluntarily remove or jump out of Jesus' hand -- and therefore "forfeit" their Salvation. The problem with that argument is that the passage says "NO MAN" shall pluck them out of my Hand; this would also include the "sheep" in the hands of BOTH the Father and the Son. The teaching that one of Jesus' sheep can voluntarily jump out of His hand would not work for several reason -- even using the "free will" argument. The reasons are:
Jesus said that His (possessive pronoun) sheep will not listen to the "voice of strangers" or false shepherds; but will "flee" from them. (John 10:5) Jesus said that even if one of His sheep wanders off voluntarily, He will leave the 99 in His fold to seek out that sheep that wandered astray [free will and voluntarily] (Lk. 15:1-6) Jesus said that He is the TRUE shepherd and not a hireling; for hirelings abandon their sheep when there's danger approaching (John 10:12 -- i.e., "wolves"). Jesus is the GOOD SHEPHERD, so He will keep His sheep safe at all times. If Jesus allows His sheep to wander off and does nothing about it; how then is He the Good Shepherd? One might argue that the sheep that have wandered astray in Luke 15:1-6 refers to the unsaved, and not those who already belong to Christ. Romans 5:8-9 states: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, [WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS], Christ died for us. [MUCH MORE THEN, BEING NOW JUSTIFIED BY HIS BLOOD], we shall be saved from wrath through him." The subject (i.e., "Jesus' sheep" or "them") in that passage uses the reflexive pronoun; meaning that the "subject" (i.e., "Jesus' sheep or him/herself") in the hands of both the Father and the Son will have nothing to do with him/herself being plucked out. A great place to start would be an examination of the fruit of the Spirit. If you TRULY belong to Christ, then a spiritual inventory check would be the first place to start (cf. 2 Cor. 13:5). Do these Christlike characteristics abide in you? Love Joy Peace Self-control Kindness Goodness Gentleness Faithfulness Patience If you are in complete opposition of these Spiritual fruits, then that is a "red flag" that you may not be saved, or were never saved to begin with. When we are born-again, we are "new" creatures in Christ, and sin will have less dominion overs us during our life (cf. Matt. 3:8; Rom. 12:2-3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Heb. 6:1; 1 Jn. 3:9; 5:4; et al.). As we progress spiritually, we will have a greater hatred towards sin, and keep the commandments because we want to please God.

@Roselove,I have to second what Salyan says about bc pills. There are components to the pills that are really just not healthy for us. The pills usually have estrogen in them, as well as progestin. Both are man-made to simulate what the ovaries produce. Too much estrogen can cause breast cancer.  Too long a use of progestin affects the nervous system and joint/muscle/back pain. It can also affect the cardiovascular system, the skin, vision, etc. Personally, it isn't worth the side effects for me, even if that seems to be the answer.
Ofttimes, food can help certain situations. An 8 oz glass of tomato juice, according to research done by Harvard, can cut the risk of ovarian cancer in half. Drinking green tea every day cuts the risk as well. Foods with quercitin in them (all kinds of peppers, apples, berrries, asparagus, buckwheat, onions, kale, etc) also help the liver break down carcinogens, thus also helping avoid ovarian cancer. Nuts, and belgian endive also help.
Sleep is vital to the immune system. I was told by a naturopath (and it's since been repeated by other docs) to get in bed by 11 pm, if not earlier. He said that the hours before midnight are the best hours for rest and our immunity.  I don't always do that, but when I'm in bed by 9 or 010, I really am more rested.
Rather than retyping what he said, I'm going to post a link from Dr. Axe regarding anemia. He explains what it is (I scrolled down past it, because it's lengthy...and I know what it is, as I'm sure you do LOL), but then he lists foods to avoid and foods/supplements to eat/take. https://draxe.com/anemia-symptoms/  Maybe something he says can be of help? (he's a doctor of natural medicines, just so you know he's not a quack...although some people think folks that do natural meds are nuts. LOL)
I had to quit using our cast iron skillets for a while because I had too much iron in my system. Maybe you could invest in a couple of cast iron pans to cook in? They aren't good for things that have a high water content, but there's a lot that can be cooked in them. It may or may not help.
Likely the bleeding issue is what has caused the anemia. When my husband had his accident on Feb. 14, they had to take him off his warfarin because the (huge!) hematoma he got wouldn't stop bleeding. His leg was really swelled up from being filled with blood. Ugh! So they took him off the warfarin and put him on Vitamin K. Vitamin K is considered an antidote to warfarin in the case of a brain bleed or other bleeding that won't stop. That is for those who are on warfarin, though. Maybe you could ask your doctor if Vit. K might be of any help in the bleeding?
I sure hope you can find some answers! I know you must really feel lousy most days!

I get suspicious when I hear doctors prescribing birth control pills to solve other problems. This evil culture seems determined to sterilize people at all costs – discouraging committed marriage, encouraging transgenderism and homosexuality -  I would not at all be surprised if the trend toward using birth control pills to solve other problems is one more way of producing this effect.
I did some research on this once and found that regular use of birth control pills can produce long-term fertility issues – even long after stopping the use of the pill. Whether single or married, if you hope to have children someday, you should avoid using it.
Just seems that with all the medicines out there today, there should be some that will produce the same effects without the abortionaid effect.

So, I went to this family owned Italian restaurant with my husband, not long ago and had the best Italian dish I’ve ever had!! It was called Chicken Aristocrat. I had never heard of it before, it was a thin chicken breast, topped with a thin and lightly breaded slice of eggplant, and a slice of mozzarella, on top. It was served on top of spaghetti and the sauce was soo yummy. It was a pink sauce, I got to ask the waitress what was in it and she was nice enough to tell me! It was made with cream, parmesan, and a bit of marinara. I could tell there was basil in it, too. It kinda reminded me of creamy tomato basil soup! (Not surprisingly.) lol!
I’m going to try to make it this weekend! I’m on a low carb diet, so I’m changing a couple of things! I’m using chicken thighs instead of breast, because we prefer dark meat and it was cheaper! I’m going to butterfly cut it and probably pound it pretty flat. I got eggplant and am going to make an almond meal breading (you mix almond flour and water and bake it, to make “bread crumbs “)  and then I’m going to bake the eggplant with the faux bread crumbs. Lol!
Next, I’m making the sauce with heavy cream, parmesan, dried basil, and a touch of marinara sauce that has oregano, garlic, and basil in it (it’s Red Gold brand).
I use a kind of spaghetti that is supposed to be low-glycemic, so it’s good for low carb diets. The brand is, Dream Fields. I know they had some kind of law suit against them, because it wasn’t as low-glycemic as they claimed, apparently, but I personally don’t notice having issues with it! Not sure if they sell it in stores anymore, may have to find it online when I need to stock up again!
Just thought I’d share the recipe! I’m not going to really measure anything, so that’s why I didn’t list amounts. There’s a lot of breaded eggplant recipes online and the sauce is simple, just need to add stuff to your preferences! Will get back and let you all know how it turns out!!
Update: Was very good! Breaded the eggplant in almond flour and finely crushed pork rinds. Turned out better than I thought it would :)

Well, I would also contend that the same spiritual gift may be given to different individuals at different levels of strength, and that multiple spiritual gifts may be given to the same individual with a mixture of different levels of strength for each gift (which I reference as an individual's "gift-mix").

Actually, for most of the spiritual gifts, there is an element wherein all believers might engage the ability somewhat.  However, those who possess that area of spiritual gift, when filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit for its usage, will have a special strength of ability in that area.

Well, to some extent I also can discern if someone is filled with the Spirit and with the spirit of truth, or not.  However, I cannot do so according to some "automatic, supernatural" ability.  Rather, I can discern if someone is filled with the spirit based upon whether their behavior is in accord with the fruit of the spirit or in accord with the works of the flesh. (See Galatians 5:13-26)  Furthermore, I can discern if someone is filled with the spirit of truth or the spirit of error based upon whether their message/doctrine is in accord with the wholesome words of our Lord Jesus Christ and in accord with the doctrine which is according to godliness, or is in accord with worldly philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men and the rudiments of the world. (See 1 Timothy 5: 3-5 & Colossians 2:8)

In order to give answer unto your most recent series of questions and thoughts, I must express a few correctives.  Even so, allow me first to express a corrective concerning the meaning of faith.
It is not precisely accurate to define Biblical faith as "trust AND obedience."  It would be more precise to define Biblical faith as "trust FOR and UNTO obedience."  In the great faith chapter of Hebrews 11, the active and faithful obedience of so many is NOT presented as equivalent to their faith.  Rather, their active and faithful obedience is presented as the RESULT of their faith; and their faith is presented as the MOTIVATION for their active and faithful obedience.  They are presented as actively and faithfully obeying BY faith and/or THROUGH faith.  (Note: As a side thought for meditation, it is interesting that Samson is included among those in this great faith chapter. (See verse 32)  Yet in accord with the record of God's Word concerning Samson's life, most of us would NOT consider him to have been very faithful in his walk before the Lord.)
On the other hand, Hebrews 11 does provide us with some understanding concerning the MEANING of Biblical faith --
In Hebrews 11:1 we see the DESCRIPTION of Biblical faith:
    1.  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
    2.  the evidence of things not seen."
This reveals what faith does within us -
    1.  It provides substance in our hearts for our hope.
    2.  It provides evidence in our hearts for our convictions.
In Hebrews 11:6 we see the DIRECTION of Biblical faith:
"But without faith it is impossible to please him:
    1.  for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
    2.  and that he is a rewarded of them that diligently seek him."
This reveals what our faith must be in relation to God's Person -
    1.  We must believe from our hearts in the eternal existence of God.
    2.  We must believe from our hearts in the righteous faithfulness of God.
In Hebrews 11:13 we see the DEFINITION of Biblical faith:
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises,
    1.  but having seen them afar off,
    2.  and were persuaded of them,
    3.  and embraced them,
and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."
This reveals what faith will look like in relation to God's Word -
    1.  We will accept the reality of God's truth and promises. ("the evidence of things not see")
    2.  We will be persuaded in the certainty of God's truth and promises. ("the substance of things hoped for")
    3.  We will embrace with settled conviction the faithfulness of God's truth and promises. ("the substance of things hoped for")

    Sister Rose,
In order to answer your above question, two preliminary questions must be considered -
    1.  What is the Biblical definition for the gift of discerning spirits?
    2.  Is the gift of discerning spirits a sign gift or a "ministry" gift?
We find the gift of discerning spirits in the listing of 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 -- "For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."  Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 12:28 adds the listing, "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."
From these two passages we acquire a list, as follows:
    1.  The gift of apostleship
    2.  The gift of prophecy
    3.  The gift of teaching
    4.  The word of wisdom
    5.  The word of knowledge
    6.  The gift of miracles
    7.  The gift of healing
    8.  the discerning of spirits
    9.  The gift of helps
    10.  The gift of governments
    11.  The gift of tongues-speaking
    12.  The gift of tongues-interpretation
Now, 1 Corinthians 13:8 indicates that at some time at least three spiritual gifts will cease to be necessary and/or valid.  These are the gifts of prophecies, of tongues-speaking, and of special-knowledge.  As I have presented in earlier postings, I believe that that these gifts are representative for two categories of spiritual gift, the category of the sign gifts and the category of the revelatory gifts.  I consider the gift tongues-speaking as representing the category of the sign gifts, and I consider gifts of prophecies and of special-knowledge as representing the category of the revelatory gifts.  In accord with Mark 16:17-18 I consider the following gifts as being within the category of the sign gifts - the gifts of devil-casting, of tongues-speaking, of miracle-working, and of healings.  I myself believe that these sign gifts have now ceased.  (Note: Although I believe that these sign gifts have now ceased as spiritual gifts, I still believe that devil-casting, miraculous events, and miraculous healing can still occur today through the power of prayer.)
Now, if we remove the sign gifts from the above listing, we would then have the following:
    1.  The gift of apostleship
    2.  The gift of prophecy
    3.  The gift of teaching
    4.  The word of wisdom
    5.  The word of knowledge
    8.  the discerning of spirits
    9.  The gift of helps
    10.  The gift of governments
Furthermore, I myself believe that the revelatory gifts would include the gifts of apostleship, of prophecy, of special knowledge (which may include the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge), and that these revelatory gifts have also ceased.  If I am correct, then our edited listing would have the following:
    3.  The gift of teaching
    8.  the discerning of spirits
    9.  The gift of helps
    10.  The gift of governments
This would appear to allow that the discerning of spirits is a spiritual gift that still exists unto this day.  However, we must still discern the Biblical definition for this spiritual gift.  Even so, I would suggest that for such an understanding we should consider 1 John 4:1-6 -- "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us.  Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error."  In accord with this passage, I would contend that the discerning of spirits is the ability to discern between the Spirit of God and the spirit of the world, to discern between the Spirit of Christ and the spirit of antichrist, to discern between the spirit of Biblical truth in message and doctrine and and spirit of worldly, fleshly, devilish error in message and doctrine.
Whether your friend actually possesses this spiritual gift, I cannot say.  I do not know her, nor do I know how she is defining that gift which she claims to possess.
Concerning myself, I would probably contend that I have a gift-mix of various spiritual gifts, but that my primary spiritual gift is the gift of teaching.  Maybe others would even substantiate that claim . . .

Roselove reacted to *Light* in Doubting Salvation
Why do so many Christians doubt their Salvation if God's promises are never to be broken? It concerns me a great deal that there are many genuine Christians who are indeed saved but feel as if they're not at times.
Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath [present tense] everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed [perfect tense] from death unto life. (John 5:24)
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know [perfect tense] that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:13)
The "perfect tense" in the Greek refers to a completed action that no longer needs to be repeated. The above verses is a guarantee that we can know (at the present moment) that we possess Eternal Life; and that it is a "done" deal. Christian's have doubts, many believers do have them. In my observation and experience, this is a result of a failure to grow spiritually after being saved, and allowing instead the influences of the world to intrude and compromise the basic truths that attend to salvation and the ministry of the Spirit (Jn. 15:5; Col. 1:9-10; Tit. 2:11-14; Heb. 5:12-14; 1 Pet. 2:1-25; 2 Pet. 1:5-8; 3:17-18; 1 Jn. 2:15-17). That is not the same thing as apostasy, however. But it does mean that such a believer is vulnerable. In fact, we are all vulnerable when we are not vigilantly pursuing spiritual growth. When we are making it a habit to pray, read our Bibles, and attend to solid Bible teaching -- and believe it -- we find that doubts receded as we grow closer to Jesus Christ (cf. Rom. 1:11-12; 2 Cor. 8:7; 10:15; Col. 2:5-7; 2 Thess. 1:3; Heb. 13:7; et al.). The clearer He is to our spiritual vision, the less there is to doubt. If we are keeping our eyes on Him, we are not going to sink no matter how rough the sea and waves and no matter how strong the wind, but if we let our vision stray away from Him and towards the threats around us, we will begin to sink straightaway . . . and will find ourselves streaking back to the boat (Isa. 26:3; Ps. 119:37; Prov. 29:18; 1 Cor. 10:13; Eph. 1:18; Phil. 3:14; Heb. 12:1-2). And there is no progress in the boat. How do we mature believers have certainty? We believe the truth we have learned much more than what our eyes see, what our ears hear, and what our feelings feel. We believe the Word of God.

I apologize for skipping past your post, so I'll attempt to help you understand tenses in layman's terms. The word "sealed" is in the aorist passive indicative; and the Greek verb is "sphragizo" and we are sealed by the Spirit; He is our pledge of security. It's very dangerous for folks who don't know and really understand ancient Greek to draw conclusions based upon things like tense-aspect. English is different from Greek. That means that what an English translation may imply may not be what the Greek really means, especially if too much weight is put on an issue like this.  It is important, but it is a very involved grammatical issue wherein there is really not much substance when all is said and done. Greek, for example, does not have an aoristic present as English does so that any Greek verb form referring to the present may be either continuous OR aoristic. In John 3:16 we have a participle with a definite article -- common in Greek but unusual in English:  "the believing one"  or "the believer" or "the one who believes [in Me]". If we are believers, we believe in Christ.
Also, there is a false doctrine referred to as the hyper-Once-saved-always-saved position -- which is untrue, because it is possible for a false "believer" to apostatize (i.e., they were never saved to begin with (cf. 1 Jn. 2:19), that is, to entirely abandon faith in Christ. One third of false professors in Christ will do this during the Great Apostasy of the Tribulation (2 Thes. 2:3 ). Of course, "pins and needles salvation", the false doctrine that one little slip condemns the believer is also a dastardly lie. If we believe, we are believers; all believers are saved, but ONLY believers are saved:
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)
    God Bless!

Topic: Can we lose our Salvation once we have it?   This is going to be by far the most comprehensive study I've done so far in an all out effort to bring the lost to Christ; and to give absolute assurance of a Christian's Salvation and Divine hope.   Square Brackets [ ] are my way of explaining its true meaning and putting emphasis on a particular verse or passage. Please take time to read this if you have any doubts or uncertainty about your Salvation. There is nothing more important than your Eternal Salvation since your Eternal fate will be in either one of two places. If you have never heard of the Gospel and have stumbled upon this, then please take time to read this because I care for the lost and desire that they all repent and turn to the Lord to receive the free gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ the Lord. This is not by chance . . . this is Divine Providence!   So let's move on to the crux of the matter.   "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" (Romans 1:19-20)   Objection: I am a Christian and have no worries at all if I were to be unsaved; because the bible says that if in fact that I lose my Salvation, I will be annihilated if that were to be the case. We can find proof of this in the bible in Thessalonians 1:9.   "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with [everlasting destruction] [from] the [presence] of the Lord, and [from] the [glory of his power];" (2nd Thessalonians 1:7b-9)   Annihilationist's teach that 2 Thessalonians 1:9 is proof of non-existence after death using that passage in Scripture. The problem with that theological viewpoint is that if a person is in a state of "non-existence", then how can they be "away" or "from" the "presence" of anything -- let alone, God? They will be NOWHERE, and cannot be "away" or "from" the "presence" of anything or anyone if they DO NOT EXIST. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and the religious leaders of His time because they were "scholars" or leaders of the Old Testament, and yet failed to grasp the true meaning of Scripture. The title "Rabbi" (e.g., Pharisees and Scribes) is equivalent to "doctors" (D.TH., Th.D., D. Theol.) or "scholars" in modern day Christianity.   The religious leaders in Jesus' day loved to be called "Rabbi" or "teacher" because it boosted their pride and ego. The bible is easy to understand that even little children can comprehend it. Most religious leaders of today are also so arrogant and boastful that they miss the clear understanding of a passage or verse in the bible. They put so much time and effort on one or two words in the bible to establish their doctrine as reliable (e.g., "eternal destruction"); and as a result . . . it becomes a distortion of scripture or eisegesis. I did some research on the most notable religious leaders of today, and do you know who came up? The Pope, the Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra and others. This kindled my anger when I came across that. This is how blinded and deceived people are by Satan.   "Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." (Matthew 15:14)   "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because [thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent], and hast [revealed them unto babes]. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight." (Matthew 11:25-26)   First of all, let's get one thing straightened out; there are no amount of "works" that can merit our Salvation, and the Bible makes that very clear (Gen. 8:21; 1st Kings 8:46; Ps. 58:3; 143:2; Prov. 20:9; 22:15; Eccl. 7:20; Jer. 17:9; Isa. 48:8)   "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not." (Ecclesiastes 7:20)   Is there anything that we can do to "earn" Salvation by our own efforts? No human achievement can obtain justification in God's eyes regardless of how we live our lives; for it is a wasted effort and has no efficacious value or principles at all when juxtaposed with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.   "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)   If we cannot "earn" our Salvation, then how can we lose it? And if Salvation is not by "works", then how can we gain it? Some may argue that if we don't measure up to a certain level of obedience, then we can "lose" our Salvation. If this were to be true (which it isn't Eph. 2:8-9) then the entirety of Scripture cannot be trusted; but God CANNOT lie -- so that eliminates the possibility of losing our Salvation by a lack of a lifestyle of obedience. The proviso regarding the doctrine of Salvation by Grace through Faith does not imply that we can get some sort of "get out of hell free pass" -- or a license for immorality. I need to make this crystal clear so that you can gain a perfect understanding on how you are saved, and if you can lose it.   Secondly, you need to make absolutely certain that you are indeed saved; because this can lead to a false hope of security in Christ; and ultimately to the Lake of Fire where there awaits Eternal Punishment.   "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but [he that doeth the will of my Father] which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name [done many wonderful works?] And then will I profess unto them, [I never knew you]: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23)   Several things that we need to take into consideration from that passage:   These false Christians question Jesus about their Salvation on that "Great Day" by their mention of "many wonderful works." The bible makes it crystal clear that no amount of works can save anyone (e.g., Catholicism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormonism, Islam, et al.). Works bases "righteousness" is no "righteousness" at all -- this is "self-righteousness." Jesus made this very clear to the "self-righteous" hypocrites of His day (viz., Pharisees, Scribes, etc.). Moreover, Jesus will declare to these men and women that He "NEVER KNEW THEM"; so they were never saved to begin with -- nor did they ever have a "saving" relationship with Him. Everyone has a "personal" relationship with Jesus -- even Satan and his fallen angels. He knows them inside and out (1 Kings 8:39; 1 Chron. 28:9; 1 Sam. 16:7; Ps. 7:9; 19:14; 26:2; cf. 38:9; 44:21; 139:2-23; Prov. 21:2; Jer. 11:20; 20:12; Ezek. 11:5; Matt. 9:4; Mk. 2:8; Lk. 5:22; Rev. 2:23). There are going to be many Popes and Catholics who will end up in hell and the Lake of Fire who will think that they are in "Purgatory"; and then they will come to the realization that their eternal abode is not Purgatory, but hell and the Lake of Fire.   Objection: Esau sold his "birthright" to Jacob for a bowl of stew; and we must take into consideration that we do not exchange our Heavenly inheritance (Salvation) for some temporal "blessing" as he had.   First of all . . . nothing in the Old Testament passage indicates that Esau even had "Eternal Life" or "Salvation"; and to say so is an obvious prooftext (eisegesis) as one has to insert their pet doctrine or theology into that passage. Another thing that we must keep in mind is that the New Testament is a New Covenant by God who promised to write His law in our "inward parts." Nothing about Esau suggested that he was a godly man; all he wanted was the blessings of God without God. This is parallel to those who sit in the brick and mortar mega-churches of today who only lust after what God can do for them, and not what they can do for God. It is the latter that brought upon Esau any sort of true repentance even though he sought it. What that passage in Genesis 25:29-34 is suggesting are the consequences of his sin -- not his Salvation. Are we to truly believe that if we seek repentance and forgiveness from God with "tears" that God is unwilling to forgive us as His child? If so, then who is this god that you worship? Because it is NOT the God of the Bible -- and I can assure you that. Even an earthly Father would be willing to forgive us so if we truly repent! How much more better is our Father in Heaven?    "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7:11)   "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."(1st John 1:9)   "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, [I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts]; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more." (Jeremiah 31:33-34)   The above passage speaks of our God permanently placing His law within our hearts so that it may not depart; for this is the promise of God Himself regarding His New Covenant with His people (Jn. 14:17; Rom. 8:15-17, 26; 1st Cor. 2:12; 6:19-20; 12:13; Eph. 1:13-14; 4:30; Tit. 3:5; 2nd Pet. 1:4; 1st Jn. 4:15).   Objection: No one can truly know if they are saved until they pass from this life and face the judgement of God.   "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, [hath] everlasting life, and [shall not come into condemnation]; but [is passed] from death unto life." (John 5:24)   "Hath" (Greek *echo*) [present active indicative] everlasting life -- is in the present tense; which means that the action is taking place at that very moment. The indicative mood demonstrates a true reality. "Is passed" (Greek *metabaino*) [present active indicative] from death unto life.   "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that [ye may know] that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing [according to his will], he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, [whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.]" (1st John 5:13-15)   The words "ye may know" (Greek *hina eido*) is in the present tense [perfect active subjunctive of *oida*), and means that we can know with absolute certainty that we possess Eternal Life at this very moment in time. On a side note, but still important: I want to make this VERY CLEAR that we can have our prayers answered 100% of the time; and there is NO reason why it shouldn't if we are in perfect accord with God's divine plan in our lives. I can personally testify of this precious truth. Barking dogs, noisy and drunk neighbors, internet failures, unclean and hateful birds screeching, etc., will immediately come to a halt when I pray in the Spirit and in Truth unto my Lord God. Again . . . we need to keep this in our minds and in our hearts that we must be doing what God wants us to be doing at that moment in time (e.g., witnessing to the lost, feeding the flock, deeply studying the Word of God, listening to God's Word so that we may drink and eat of the spiritual sustenance given by Him, etc.). I've been doing this for the longest time and God has been faithful 100% of the time without failure. Should we be amazed or surprised by this? Why? Isn't He that has called you most FAITHFUL AND TRUE? (Gen. 12:2-3; 15:4; 21:1-2; Num. 23:19; Lam. 3:22-23; Ex. 34:6; Deut. 7:8-9; 32:4; Rom. 3:3-4; 4:21; 9:9; 15:8-9; Gal. 3:14; 4:28; 2 Tim. 2:13; 2 Sam. 7:12-13; Jer. 25:8-11; 29:10; 52:12-16, 27; Ezra 1:1-3; Neh. 9:8; Ps. 106:8; 1st Thess. 5:24; Heb. 6:13-15,18; 11:11; Josh. 21:45; 23:14; 1st Kings 8:56; 2 Kings 25:8-12; 1 Chron. 16:15; 17:11-12; 2 Chron. 6:7-11; 36:17-21; Ps. 145:13; Ezek. 12:25; Hab. 2:3; Acts 13:32-33; 2 Cor. 1:20-22; Heb. 3:2-6; 10:23; 2 Pet. 3:9; cf. Rev. 1:5; 19:11)     On one occasion there was a puppy that wouldn't stop barking; and you could here this puppy bark from half a block away. No one was doing anything about it, and I prayed to the Lord to stop the puppy from barking and it "seemingly" did not come to pass. However, my faith did not waver as the Spirit told me that if those in the houses adjacent to the house with the barking dog weren't complaining . . . then neither should I be concerned as a Christian who possesses the fruit of long-suffering. The Spirit also told me that it was a lesson to be able to place our "focus" on the peace of God regardless of tumultuous events that occur in our lives. After I had learned that -- the puppy completely stopped barking.   Objection: "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are [justified by the law]; ye are [fallen from grace]." (Galatians 5:4)   "Is become of no effect unto you" (Greek *apo*) means to be "separated or estranged from"; and the phrase "fallen from grace" (Greek *ekpipto*) [aorist active indicative] means losing what was once "taken hold of."   "For the [grace of God ]that bringeth salvation hath [appeared to all men], Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:11-13)   God's Grace was put on display "FOR ALL MEN" when Jesus shed His precious blood for our sins on the Cross at Calvary so that we may have Eternal Life. It is only for those who put their trust and faith in God through Jesus Christ our Lord, and what He did on the Cross so we receive mercy and forgiveness by God's Grace (Jn. 3:16; Acts 15:11; cf. 2 Cor. 12:8-9; Rom. 1:5; 3:23-24; 6:14; 11:6; Eph. 2:8-9; 4:7; Tit. 2:11; Heb. 4:16; 2 Pet. 1:2; Jas. 4:6). Furthermore, anybody who understands Salvation by Grace through Faith knows that we cannot be "justified" by "the law." -- this is Bible 101.   Objection: The bible teaches in Hebrews 6:4-6 that true believers can lose their Salvation if they once believed it and have apostatized.    "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have [tasted of the heavenly gift], and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have [tasted the good] word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6)   This objection fails in so many ways because the person interpreting that passage does not understand the context. We can't simply take one passage in a bible chapter and build an entire theology around it. As my emphasis shows that "tasting" the heavenly gift is not the same as "receiving" the heavenly gift (cf. Eph. 2:8-9). We cannot earn or buy the heavenly gift (Acts 8:18-20). The passage that immediately follows refutes the false doctrine of losing one's Salvation. Any first year bible student will tell you that "Context is king". Here is what follows next in that passage:   "But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that [accompany salvation], though we thus speak." (Hebrews 6:9)   This is CLEARLY telling us that "those" mentioned in Hebrews 6:4 (who have once been enlightened) in the previous passage were NOT genuine believers; and had never been saved in the first place. Mere intellectual assent of biblical truth is not equivalent to being born again (regenerated). Not everyone who professes to belong to Christ never implies having "saving faith" (cf. Gen. 10:26,32).      Objection: The parable of the prodigal son is an illustration about a true believer who has lost his Salvation and regained it.   "And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is [alive again]; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry." (Luke 15:21-24)   "Alive again" simply means that the prodigal son was "born again" -- or what is referred to as "the second birth." This is spoken of many times in scripture (Jn. 3:1-10, 16; Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:3, 23; 10:9-10; 1 Pet. 1:3; 22-25; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:1; 8-9; Gal. 3:26; Tit. 3:5; Col. 2:11-13). Stop trying too hard to prove your false doctrines, "doctors" of Theology! For your arrogance and pride in your achievements in the academic fields of study will blind you from receiving the simplicity of the Truth of Scripture.   Objection: Judas Iscariot was one of the 12 disciples and he lost his Salvation. Jesus says in John 17:12 that he had [lost none] "but the son of perdition."   Now this is just ridiculous! Let's be honest! How can Judas Iscariot have been saved if the Holy Spirit had not been given to anyone at that time? (Jn. 14:26; 15:26; 16:7; Acts 2:14-21). Also, the bible makes it very clear that anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit, he does not belong to Christ (Rom. 8:9). The Holy Spirit "came upon" those in the Old Testament; however, the Holy Spirit did not "indwell" them (Num. 11:25-26; Judg. 3:10; 6:34; 11:29; 13:25; 15:14; 1 Sam. 10:6-10; 16:13-14; 19:20-23; 2 Chron. 24:20; Neh. 9:30; Ps. 51:11; Ezek. 2:2). Furthermore, Jesus referred to Judas as a "devil" in John 6:70. Now does that sound like a born-again believer?   "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." (Ephesians 1:13)   Objection: The Word of God states that many will [depart from the faith] in the end times.   "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times [some shall *depart* from the faith], giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." (1st Timothy 4:1)   Departing from "the faith" (not "their faith") does not refer to losing "personal faith" in God, but rather the Christian doctrine.   "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for [the faith] which was once delivered unto the saints." (Jude 3)   Objection: Jesus taught in the parable of the vine and the branches that genuine believers can be cast into the Lake of Fire if they fail to abide in the vine.   "Every branch [in me] that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for [without me ye can do nothing]. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and [cast them into the fire], and they are burned." (John 15:2, 5-6)   Once again . . . we can't just take a few words from the bible or isolated passages and build an entire doctrine or theology with it. We need to take the scripture as a WHOLE to understand its true meaning. In other words . . . we have to "search" the Scriptures.   Jesus said: "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me." (John 5:39)   Jesus was speaking to His "twelve disciples"; and one of them had been dismissed from the fellowship as he rejected Jesus -- whose name was Judas Iscariot (the betrayer). There is no such thing as a genuine believer who brings forth "no fruit." Fruits of the Spirit are evidence and characteristic's that one is a true believer. Furthermore, Jesus said that we can do "nothing" apart from Him; and as a result we can bring forth NO fruits. Christ is the vine; and His Father is the vinedresser. The one's that bear fruit represent the 11 disciples of Christ, and all other true disciples of the church age. The withered branch cast into the fire represent Judas and false Christians who will be cast into the Lake of Fire and the end of the age when the reapers (angels) separate the wheat from the tares.   "But the [fruit of the Spirit] is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23)   Objection: 2nd Peter 2:1 is a clear cut verse that undeniably proves that those who were saved under the shed blood of Christ can lose their Salvation.   "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that [bought them], and bring upon themselves swift destruction." (2nd Peter 2:1)   "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, [the just for the unjust], that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" (1 Peter 3:18)   "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, [It is finished]: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." (John 19:30)   I am absolutely certain that anyone reading this knows what "It is finished" [tetelestai] means in the Greek. It is an accounting term which means "paid in full." This is CLEARLY what Peter is referring to when he mentions the Lord who "bought" [paid in full] these "false teachers." Will "EVERYONE" be saved since Christ paid the price for all through His precious shed blood on the Cross? The obvious answer is no! These false teachers profess Jesus as their Lord, but deny Him in every abominable works and heresies. We can see many examples of this today on TV with televangelists (e.g., Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, and the ilk). Their interpretation of that passage is: "What can Jesus as my LORD buy for me? How about a $20,000,000 private jet with my own airport!    Kenneth Copeland said: "I was shocked when I found out who the biggest failure in the Bible actually is. ... The biggest one is God. ... I mean, He lost His top-ranking, most anointed angel; the first man He ever created; the first woman He ever created; the whole earth and all the Fullness therein; a third of the angels, at least — that's a big loss, man ... Now, the reason you don’t think of God as a failure is He never said He's a failure. And you're not a failure till you say you're one.” (Praise-a-Thon program on TBN [April 1988])   First of all . . . God never [said] that He was a failure -- so obviously He is NOT a failure. Secondly, the reason why Kenneth Copeland said God was the biggest failure is because he found out that God would not give him the millions of dollars he had prayed for.   The Greek word for "master" is [despotes], of a house that bought the slaves, and the master as their sovereign, the slaves owed allegiance to him.  These slaves refused to submit to their master's authority.  There are many in Christendom who profess to truly acknowledge Christ as their Lord.  They affirm that they were purchased by His atoning work on the Cross. And they profess that they even belong to Him. The word "bought" is agorazo in the Greek, and it simply means to buy or to purchase.   We can also find an Old Testament parallel passage in Deuteronomy 32:5-6, where God is said to have "bought" Israel, though they rejected Him. Doctrinally, this analogy can be viewed as responsibility for submission to God, which false teachers had refused. Jesus used this phrase in Matthew 17:17 of an "unbelieving" generation, and Paul in Philippians 2:15 of the rebellious nature of mankind. Moreover, these false prophets and false teachers secretly introduce damnable heresies and blaspheme the truth. Is this the traits of a true believer? Let's be honest about this!   "They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a [perverse and crooked generation]. Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? Is not he thy father that hath [bought thee]? Hath he not made thee, and established thee?" (Deuteronomy 32:5-6)   Objection: "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the [knowledge] of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have [known the way of righteousness], than, after they [have known] it, to turn from the holy commandment [delivered unto them.] But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22)   This passage is parallel to that of Hebrews 6:4-6. See explanation and refutation of that in the earlier portion of this thesis.   "My sheep [hear my voice], and [I know them], and [they follow me]: And I give unto them eternal life; and [they shall never perish], neither shall [any man] pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and [no man] is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." (John 10:27-29)   Objection: Well . . . you have free will, and you can willfully JUMP or REMOVE yourself out of His hand!   Are you in the category of "any man"? Are you in the category of "no man"? Would one of Jesus' sheep actually willfully leave His fold? What does Jesus Himself say?   My sheep: Hear my voice My sheep: Follow me My sheep: I know them (Greek *ginosko* -- personal, intimate, and genuine knowledge of the object) [present active indicative]. My sheep: Will not [follow] a stranger, but will [flee] from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. (John 10:5) My sheep: And they shall never perish ("double emphasis" on - kai ou me apolontai eis ton aiona)   Hear, know, and follow are all in the present tense linear action; which means that Jesus' sheep will "continue to "Hear, know, and follow" Him.   "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)   Beloved: If you are His true sheep -- then you can be at absolute peace with God knowing that the Good Shepherd has you safe in His hands; and nothing can ever separate you from Him.   "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39)   God Bless!

It’s okay that, you’ve been busy! And I certainly have compassion for you being overwhelmed. I very much appreciate you taking your time to help me, in the midst of your other duties!! It’s very kind, of you!
I really appreciate your answer on this! I think that how you presented the context of what Jesus was saying, makes sense! I suppose it would make more sense, since He’s trying to comfort the disciples. I always thought it’d be kind of strange for Him to threaten them with hell for disobedience, while they were afraid and needing reassurance. I think I get it, now!

Thank you for that Bro. Scott. I have often seen those verses and never even thought to connect them to eternal salvation. But the way you explained it fits perfectly.

    Sister Rose,
I do apologize for taking so long to answer this question.  So many responsibilities and commitments.  I have been somewhat overwhelmed lately.
    Concerning Matthew 10:28.
First, it is contextually clear that throughout Matthew 10:5-42 our Lord Jesus Christ was speaking to his believing disciples, not to the lost multitudes.  Second, in Matthew 10:28 our Lord Jesus Christ did indeed speak about the soul, not simply concerning a person's life on this earth, but concerning a person's eternal destiny in the life to come.  However, as we consider the truth of Matthew 10:28, it is important for us to recognize precisely what our Lord did say, and thus also what he did not say, and thereby to discern what our Lord intended by that which He said.
"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Herein our Lord did NOT pronounce a judgment upon unfaithful servants.  He did NOT say -- "Fear God lest he destroy both your soul and body in hell."  Our Lord Jesus Christ did NOT pronounce a judgment that God the Father will or even might destroy our soul and body in hell, if we are in some manner not faithful enough.  In fact, herein our Lord Jesus Christ did NOT specify any particular individuals whose soul and body God the Father might destroy in hell.  He did not say -- "Fear him which is able to destroy both YOUR soul and body in hell."  Our Lord Jesus Christ did NOT specifically apply this truth unto His believing disciples.
No, in Matthew 10:28 our Lord Jesus Christ did NOT pronounce a divine judgment.  Rather, in Matthew 10:28 our Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed a divine ABILITY.  In fact, our Lord Jesus Christ revealed a contrast in ABILITIES, between the ability of human persecutors and the ability of the Lord our God.  Yes, in some cases the authority and ability of human persecutors and human government may extend even unto the judgment of death in this life.  They may indeed have the authority and ability of judgment to kill the body.  Yet their authority and ability of judgment can extend no further than this life.  It does not and cannot extend into the life of eternity.  In contrast, our Lord God's authority and ability of judgment extends also into the life of eternity both absolutely and eternally.  So then, when we find ourselves in a place wherein we must choose between these two authorities, we should choose to fear, respect, honor, and obey the greater (yeah, the Greatest) authority.  We should not choose to fear, respect, honor, and obey human authority in contradiction to our Lord God's authority.  Rather, we should choose to fear, respect, honor, and obey our Lord God's authority in contrast to human authority.
This is our Lord Jesus Christ's exhortation in Matthew 10:28.  With this exhortation it is not His intention to fill us with fear that we might lose our eternal life and be cast into hell.  Rather, with this exhortation it is His intention to instruct and encourage us that we might remain faithful by choosing to fear, respect, honor, and obey God, rather than man.  When we are in the midst of oppression and persecution for our Lord's sake, even possibly unto the judgment of physical death, we will be greatly tempted to fear our human persecutors, and thus to compromise under the persecution.  However, our Lord Jesus Christ intends that we remember the greater and eternal authority of God our heavenly Father, and that we remember the limitations of human persecution.
So then, is there any implication or Biblical teaching concerning those whose souls and bodies God the Father might destroy with the eternal judgment of hell?  Yes, there is.  In another context the specifically concerns the matter of persecution for our Lord's sake, 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10 declares, "We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; when he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day."
Indeed, 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10 is a context concerning persecution for the Lord's sake, just as Matthew 10:16-42.  In 2 Thessalonians 1:3-10 those whose soul and body "shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord" (in hell) are "them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ."  It is NOT the believing disciples who might be judged with the destruction of their soul and body in hell.  Rather, it is the wicked persecutors who shall experience this divine judgment.  In fact, 2 Thessalonians 1:10 reveals that in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ's coming, He shall be glorified and admired "in ALL them that believe."  Believers are NOT judged with hell.  Believers enter into the glory of the Lord, so to ever be with the Lord.
With all of this in mind, we might understand the truth of Matthew 11:28 as follows -- "And fear not them [the wicked persecutors] which kill the [YOUR] body, but are not able to kill the [YOUR} soul: but rather fear him [God our heavenly Father] which is able to destroy both [THEIR - THE WICKED PERSECUTOR'S] soul and body in hell."  As such, Matthew 11:28 serves as an exhoration to instruct us unto the right choice in times of persecution, as well as an exhortation to encourage us that the Lord our God WILL vindicate our faithfulness and WILL judge our persecutors.  Their authority and ability of judgment may allow them to kill our bodies, but one day they MUST face the righteous judgment of the Lord our God, whose authority and ability of judgment is absolute and eternal, for how they treated His own.

Roselove reacted to Jim_Alaska in Calvinism Thread...per Bro. Markle request
Dan, can you provide Scripture for this statement? Yours is typical Calvinist teaching; just pick some man's reasoning out of thin air and regurgitate it over and over.
I noticed you were careful to include the word "elect". Calvinists get a lot of mileage out of the two words "elect" and "predestined". But the mileage they get is always flawed because they are incapable of understanding those two words in their proper context.
Here is a "for instance" for you: The Calvinist will always argue that because a person is of the "elect" he will be saved. Actually that idea is not only flawed, it is the exact opposite of the true meaning of the word in Scripture.
The truth of the matter is that because that person is saved, he is then of the "elect".
Calvinist doctrine makes God some sort of monster that chooses who will be saved and then condemns the rest to Hell. And yet Scripture plainly refutes this in plain language:   Re 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  The word "whosoever" is all inclusive.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
If God is not willing that any should perish, then why do people perish? The simple answer that the Calvinist refuses to consider is that man has fee will to chose to either accept God's provision for salvation in Jesus Christ or to refuse it. This is not God choosing who will be saved and who will not; the decision to accept of reject is man's responsibility and choice.
The Calvinist's other key misunderstood word is "predestinate". The Scripture that they use is this:  Ro 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Ro 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. They may know the meaning of that word, but they completely fail to understand it is its application and context.
The predestination of God is predicated on His foreknowledge. God is God and he knows the end from the beginning. So because He knew from eternity past who would accept His provision, he could predestinate those who would accept His provision to be conformed to the image of His Son. So in simple terms, because He foreknew who would accept His provision, He could call, justify and glorify; all in the past tense and because of His foreknowledge.
So, as I asked in the beginning, "can you provide Scripture for this statement?"

Roselove got a reaction from Alan in Bible in a year plan?
I’ve been interested in starting one of those plans where you are sent a study on each part of the Bible every day, until you get through the whole book, in a year. Has anyone done one of these? I want to make sure I use one with Biblically sound studies. Has anyone followed one that they trust?

My wife's iron levels were very low for several years.  She refused to take those iron pills because of the side effects.  We do cook exclusively with cast iron for the past three years but such was not enough for her.  Two surgeries and her iron levels are on the low side of normal now.  If you'd like to speak with her about it, PM me and I'll get her for you.

I found out that I have chronically low iron saturation and ferritin. I have to start iron infusions, next week. I’ve been very tired and haven’t been able to breathe well (although the breathing had gotten a lot better after I prayed hard about it).
The Dr. felt my thyroid and said it felt a little enlarged, so I have to get that checked, too.  I’m pretty frustrated with that, because from all of my research, thyroid stuff can be very difficult to treat and the meds they put you on, are basically poison.(According to some people that have had to take them).
Please pray for my thyroid health/overall health. My iron is low due to very heavy bleeding, caused by a pre-existing disorder that I have. The meds that doctors offer for this aren’t very healthy, either, which is why I don’t take them. I really pray that my iron stays good after the infusions!
