Well, thank the Lord that our lives don't depend upon our dreams, especially when they're more in the form of a nightmare. ?

I have a cousin that is the same age as me and we both began studying the bible right around the same time. He had become interested while studying with Seventh day Adventist while in prison while most of my knowledge was from what I heard from the pulpit and using my limited study skills as a new believer.
Since not many in my family had any spiritual interest we decided to study together once a week. It was exciting for me to have a family member my age that shared my interest but this bible study didn't make it to a second week.
His obsession with reading UFOs into almost every text he looked at was a huge red flag even as novice bible student. He was so passionate about learning something new that there wasn't really any room for debate or discussion in his mind.
To be honest I felt more annoyed by his beliefs than anything...but I felt like if he continued reading the bible he would eventually get a better understanding. The more important and frustrating issue was that he was passing these beliefs on to his mom and younger brothers that I was close to and so found myself having to deal with the issue because they were asking me if something he said was true.
The UFO thing isn't even something I think of or care much about. At this point I haven't seen anything for me to believe they are alien to this world...I can't tell if those grainy videos are some confidential government aircraft, some kind of light manipulation, or a triangle defying gravity.

Have you ever heard preaching about angels that are aliens, the devil's angels serving him?

JWs don't believe in Hell. They say it is just the grave and there is no eternal punishment.  Atheists and JWs would be pleased if that is the case.
There are usually 2 standing at the end of our road most mornings but they weren't there today and I don't think they were last week either. Perhaps they have Tuesday off.
Some friends who gave us a lift to our service on Sunday said that they don't talk to them as it is a waste of time. I said that is not for us to decide, God can use every little bit to add to the last and make them think. They are indoctrinated to obey rather than think.

That pretty much sums up what I've seen too. My great Uncle was one of the Wesleyan pastors here for as long as I can remember. I know that him and his family lived in a home paid for by the church but later on when his kids became adults he was able to purchase his own house. I know one of the youth pastors lived there briefly before the house was sold and the profits went back into the church.
I also know that the IFB has two living quarters on the property. I'm not even sure what exactly they are called but it looks like two small mobile homes connected to make two apartments. That lodging is for visiting pastors, musicians, or even new employees until they can get settled. I don't believe any of the staff stayed in church owned homes by the time I began attending but they may have at one time. I know the church provided a vehicle for the Pastor but most times they chose not to use it.
I can only think of two congregations where I know they own homes either right next to or very close to the congregations for their Pastors but they are both fairly small congregations.

It depends on the congregation he's serving. The church I grew up in provided residences for the pastor and assistant pastor. The pastor served there for over 30 years. His son became the assistant pastor and had his house provided. Later on, as the church grew, the youth pastor had his residence provided as well. It can be a blessing, but, it can also be a curse. When the pastor resigned he had to move out of the parsonage into an apartment. It wasn't good for him.

Today much more than in the past, people depend on handouts from the government. If you give me more, I will vote for you. Welfare, food stamps, free medical, utilities created, transportation. Housing, and drugs to keep off drugs. I think they still give out milk and cheese. Why Work? I’ll vote for you. LGBTQ A X and Abortion supporter.  ? Sad

One of the best things he did was to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as so many others had promised but failed to do. He does have some very good deeds to his name.

I don't know that Christians will vote them in and neither do you. Christians are a minority in this country and politicians are voted in by the majority.

I couldn't agree more. I remember almost ten years ago listening to a John MacArthur sermon where he said the same thing. He talked about how when a nation gets to a point when Homosexuality, Redefining Marriage, and the murder of babies is the platform for one of the major political parties in America...then surely we have fallen under Gods judgement.

I've never really held him in high regard. He, from what I've been told, is okay as a governor, but, most I've talked to from his state said that they wouldn't vote for him as a candidate for POTUS. I would have to say I agree. Something is missing, and to tell the truth, just because someone attended BJU or any other Christian institution of higher learning doesn't make them presidential material.

What amazes me is, Christians will vote to keep them back in the office. Those that are there now. Weird ? I don’t know if there has ever been a president that supported the Christians community, more than Trump. but they the Christians not all still hate him for his lifestyle.

Our current POTUS and his VP are a judgement on this nation for us turning our backs on him. Personally, I think a trained chimp would do a better job than they have done. I'm not so sure that many in the race right now on the Republican side are any better than the current administration. But, any of them would be a slight improvement.

Pence was raised in a Catholic home but as a young adult he claims to have had a "born again" experience at Asbury College.
At least he appears to have a genuine faith and attempts to live it out unlike our last Baptist President...Clinton.
Living here in Indiana Mike has been in politics long before most people outside the state ever heard his name. From the House of Representatives to him being Governor he has gained a lot of support here among Fundamentalists and Evangelicals.
Politics are so ridiculous now that I hardly believe a word of what any of them say.
I agree the Republicans have their own issues and I'll pretty much vote for anyone against Biden and his even less intelligent VP. Biden has had his better days and he's just not mentally there to lead like we need. And unfortunately I don't know if Kamala has ever been any less intelligent than right now. I'd just assume get attacked by a bear than listen to her talk about school buses, the internet, and the border ever again.

We are not THE Judge - but the Bible teaches we are to judge ALL things in our lives by the Word of God, not for the sake of pronouncing eternal judgment on them, but to be discerning and protective of our churches, our homes, our lives - and to live lives pleasing to the Lord.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 1 Corinthians 2:15
Galatians 1:6-9 has nothing to do with us judging others; it has to do with believing and teaching a false gospel (Ie. a gospel of works, or one consisting of faith/grace AND works, rather than by grace alone through faith).

Yes this has been playing out for awhile. There was coordinated effort by the progressives at AU campus church to get the previous Pastor to retire. It wasn't coincidence that within a week of his leaving a prayer was posted on their website addressing God as 'Father/Mother/.
The backlash wasn't just done in public by the leaders but someone told me the other day that over 30 people had left since the Pastoral change .
I know people who are 4th generation Church of God and have left to attend churches with very different backgrounds.
I don't think I would even consider the General Director as fundamentalist because he/church of God allows women Pastors...but for some reason they draw the line when it comes to marriage

I find it quite ironic that you, as a professing Christian, would attempt to explain away literal Scripture with your own opinions. The Holy Spirit was not wrong or in error when He inspired words and phrases as He did.
As for me, I choose to believe Scripture rather than your interpretation of it. This is especially relevant when your supposed interpretation includes words such as: "likely, apparently, evidently, It seems, not necessarily."
How about this; can you provide Scriptural proof of your assertion that, "he shall rule over thee, is ended at the cross?" Or how about: "gender neutrality is evident,"
You seem to rely heavily on extra-biblical interpretation. In plain words, according to you, your understanding supersedes plain, literal, Holy Spirit inspired Scripture.

Are you saying that when he was claiming the name of "Baptist" he was selling the book, or that many Baptists bought it? I know his book was in play in many different denominations...I know many CoG, CoC, and Christian churches in our area were using it. I never bought a copy of his book...I borrowed one, and swore I'd never support his writing. I haven't.

Tony, I have seen first hand what a bad pastor can do. This guy was also a Hyles-Anderson grad. He divided families and eventually killed the church altogether. There used to be 2 good IFB churches in Jesup, GA. They each ran over 100 at one point. Now there is 1 IFB church left and we run less then 60. Many of my personal friends will talk to me, but will not attend our church, because of all the damage done. Some drive to another city to church and others go to SBC churches.
I stay IFB, because I believe in the worship, the Bible we use, and the hymns we sing.
