  1. That's called a hidden or shrouded hammer. A hammerless gun wouldn't be very useful, now would it? ;)
  2. I am sure you are all aware that a new version of the disgusting story of Beauty and the Beast has been released. Aside from it being a love story, involving bestiality and magic, being marketed toward children, it now, reportedly, includes a sodomitic subplot. On a hunch, I decided to look up this director, Bill Condon. Apparently, the director of the latest children's film by Disney is directed by an open and proud sodomite. I found an interview of him with a sodomite travel magazine called "Passport." In it, he is asked: Passport: What is first thing you do when you get into a hotel room? Condon: "I wish I could say I’m like Ian McKellen and immediately go rip pages out of the Bible, but there don’t seem to be bibles in the hotel rooms I stay in these days. So it’s figuring out how to get online." Apparently, actor Ian McKellen (also an open and proud sodomite), when staying in hotel rooms, tears out the pages of the Bible that speak against sodomy. Condon admires this practice and wishes to follow suit, but can't' seem to stay in hotels that have Bibles. Take a look at his Wikipedia page and look at the films he has directed and written. They are filthy murder and horror films and one of them is Kinsey; a film about the man who developed the field of "sexology" and which is pornographic. I say again, Disney has chosen this vile man to direct a film for children and is bringing his sodomitic views into the world of children. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Condon We need to share this information with Christians who are still asleep and still believe that Disney is not dangerous.
  3. Thank you for the compliment. The fretboard and neck were flame maple, the inlaid stars were bocote and the body was swamp ash. The tailpiece was an American Bigsby, it had a Schaller roller bridge, Lollar '52 Tele single coil pickups, Grover tuners, nitro-cellulose tortoise pickguard, custom made brass SBI headstock coin/truss rod cover/neck plate/serial plates and Honey-burst lacquer finish. It's all gone now. Aside from not being able to hear right anymore, I couldn't justify my faith with making things like that anymore.
  4. Yes, I made ukuleles, but, as I said above, I no longer associate with that sort of music.
  5. Here is a video that explains how trees get water up higher than what should be possible. I don't know what's more astonishing; God's ingenious design for dealing with the issue or the fact that people can know this information and still believe in evolution. Watch the awe and wonder that the host has in the process and know that he still believes it came about by random, unguided, coincidental mutations. This is a very good example of why I don't believe that typical apologetics and Creationism vs Evolutionism debates are a good way to spend our time. No amount of rational observation of reality will wake most people like this out of their foolishness. It why I believe that only the words of God will awaken them. (Romans 10:13-17) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. {14} How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? {15} And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! {16} But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? {17} So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." The Most Amazing Thing About Trees
  6. Here's the prototype of a body I designed for one of the instruments I used to make. It's from when I still used machines. I would freehand guide the piece around my bandsaw. Is still has the router template on top for the hand held plunge router. Then I wold freehand guide the body past a 1/4" roundover bit on my router table. The neck above was hand carved with a spokeshave, rasps and files. You can see it together here and that the prototype was made out of plywood. Here's a promotional photo of me holding one of my guitars in front of one of my banners And here's a photo of the front of one of them. This was the ".50 caliber" model. And here's the back I owned this company (SmokeBox Instruments) when I sustained the damage to my ears. I was also working in the operations department of Guitar Center, which was where the incident happened that caused my hearing damage. I was also playing gigs in bars and local concert venues at this time as well. I have since disavowed every aspect of that part of my life and now understand that lifestyle, and everything associated with that music was godless and sinful; even the country, bluegrass and rockabilly Gospel music that I thought was righteous.
  7. I have several excerpt books of Foxe's Book of Martyrs, but no complete copy exists in stores. There is only one company who reproduces it in its entirety. I plan on purchasing a copy and making a case for it later this summer. You can find it here: 1684 Foxe’s Book of Martyrs Facsimile Reproduction
  8. Can we stop this here please? The reason for this thread was to be able to recommend one or two books that explain the issue to the average person. This is going far beyond that spectrum and into a level that the common person, including myself, cannot process. It seems that this is devolving into accusations and a competition and I don't believe it to be edifying or otherwise helpful. The following is a list of books that were recommended in earlier posts: “The Glorious History of the English Bible” by David Cloud “Forever Settled” by Jack Moorman “Believing Bible Study” by Edward F. Hills “The Identity of the New Testament Text” by Wilbur N. Pickering “Which Bible” by David Otis Fuller “True or False” by David Otis Fuller “The Traditional Text of the Holy Gospels” by DJW Burgeon “The Revision Revised, A Refutation of Wescott and Hort’s False Greek Text and Theory” by DJW Burgeon. Thank you for the above recommendations. It would now be my preference that we close this thread. @Salyan
  9. Just because the world uses something, it does not necessarily mean that it is ungodly. For instance, just because a bunch of ungodly hipsters are growing beards, it does not make beards ungodly. Numerous verses of scripture tell us that God made men to have beards, but he doesn't want them to cut them into crazy shapes (Leviticus 19:27). He wants us to wear clothing, but to wear modest clothing and clothing that is gender specific (1 Timothy 2:9, Deuteronomy 22:5). However, even though ungodly men may wear their beards in a godly manner, it does not mean that godly men must shave. Just because ungodly people can dress appropriately, it does not follow that the godly must then dress inappropriately in order to separate from them. The ungodly can mimic the godly and can behave decently in regard to certain things. These are things that cannot usually be confused by a casual observer. A man dressed as a woman cannot be confused with a Bible believing Baptist. However, there are things that are much more easily confused. An old supervisor of mine had a father who was the pastor of a church. He said that his father never went to the movie theater because if someone saw him leaving a movie theater, what movie were they to assume that he just watched? Did he just watch Bambi or The Exorcist? I stopped going to bars and even restaurants that serve alcohol because the casual observer doesn't know what's in my glass and they may get the wrong impression. I can't stand having a cell phone. The only reason that I own one and carry it is because I have aging parents who live with me. However, I never take it out in public and if I get a call, I immediately silence it and excuse myself to a private area because, if someone were to see me using my phone, am I looking up a Bible passage or am I playing Pokemon GO? (1 Thessalonians 5:22) It is for this possibility of these types of confusion that creates more reasons digital devices make me so uncomfortable.
  10. I think that another reason that I have such a disdain for digital Bibles is because of how much much digital devices are a part of the lost world. To me, it feels like welcoming rock music into the church because "that's what the world is using." The devices are associated with so much filth that I just can't get comfortable with putting the word of God on one of them. I have tried several times, but I get an actual physical ill feeling in my stomach when I do and then I delete it immediately. To be honest, I struggle very often with even owning my computer, but that is for another thread.
  11. Since God woke me from my sinful, worldly music obsessed stupor, and now having eyes to see and ears to hear, I cannot believe how stupid and self absorbed it all seems to me now. I used to perform for audiences of thousands and would attend the same of other musicians. I would dance and behave like most others around me. A few people have been re-editing music videos, removing the music from them and adding fitting sound effects. Some of them show just how absolutely ridiculous it all is when the music is taken away. The videos below capture the essence of what I see when I happen to view music related things now.
  12. What if when God told Noah to coat the ark with pitch, Noah replied, "B♯, right Lord?" "No, Noah," replied the Lord, "I said to make sure that your tools be sharp." Never mind, now I'm just being a retard.
  13. They can be major or minor problems on varying scales. The trick is to stay composed, don't lose your tempo and conduct yourself appropriately. (ba doom...tssshhh!)
  14. I want to write a blog post about asking others for help instead of stubbornly relying upon one's self or giving up entirely when confronted with a problem. I am trying to think of biblical support for this subject, but I'm drawing a blank, for some reason. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  15. Stop by sometime, I guarantee you won't trip over any apprentices' tails (aka machine chords). :)
  16. That's great! But don't go for a drive in your truck and say your going horseback riding. It confuses us equestrians. ;) (check and mate)
  17. If you have to ask the question, I don't know how I can answer you. It sounds like you're enjoying yourself, and it definitely looks like your grandson is enjoying them, but it's not woodworking; it's machining and programming. Nothing wrong with machining and programming, but we need to call a spade a spade.
  18. CNC? I thought this was about woodworking.
  19. What a racist statement! As someone with Polish ancestry, I object!
  20. Another reason I am a printed Bible kind of person is that if one is reading a Bible app, no one else knows what you're reading. If you are reading a physical Bible, others know what you are reading. Many conversations have arisen from strangers seeing me reading my Bible (and other books) while waiting for appointments.
  21. I have a pocket Bible (OT & NT) in my coat pocket, so I can literally read the Bible ANYWHERE. Neither one is more the word of God than the other and neither is "more spiritual" than the other. As I said in my previous post, it is about how the brain responds to the differences in medium. That aspect is not subjective; it is objective. If it is a matter of convenience, in the casual sense, I am opposed to it. It is my opinion that nothing that has to do with the word of God should be adjusted or manipulated for our convenience. It is still the word of God and should be treated with respect and reverence.
  22. Forgive me for missing that. I don't know how that happened.
  23. I have never heard of fornication to mean all sexual sin before now, but I am still a neophyte. I have been under the impression that fornication, in the context of Matthew 5:32, is to mean physical sexual activity before one is married. If fornication can be used to encompass all sexual sin, it would seem redundant to use it in that way when followed by a specifically named sexual sin. It seems like, in that context, it would be saying, (Matthew 5:32) But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit formication: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth fornication. However, if fornication is here being used to mean sexual activity before one is married, then it would make fornication impossible for one who is married. It would be called adultery after one is married. In this context, the only exception for divorce would be if a husband learns that his wife (or betrothed) was sexually active before their marriage, but never told him, then he would be within his rights to put her away. To me, this view allows for a clearer understanding of Matthew 1:18-19.
  24. One thing I do avoid is referring to the Greek and Hebrew. I have heard many people say, "A little Greek is a dangerous thing." I am confident that the translators of the King James Bible had a far greater understanding of Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic (and many other languages) than anyone alive today. I don't think that looking up a bit of Greek or even studying it for a few years of college, prepares one for attempting to dissect the scriptures. I do not believe the KJV to be inspired as the original texts were, but I do believe that God worked directly with the men who created the KJV. I trust God's guidance through those men enough to not need to refer to the original languages.
