    “Differences in Stars”
“There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.”
    1 Corinthians 15:41,

Only the Holy Spirit could have directed Paul the Apostle to make an accurate scientific statement as, “... for one star differeth from another star in glory.”

Historical Background of 1 Corinthians 15:41

The Apostle Paul was an educated man. As one reads his accounts in the scriptures, he was acute in observation, reading, history, languages, and philosophy. He was a educated enough to be able to debate Philosophers, Jewish Rabbis, military men, and the various political entities of his day.

During his age there was absolutely no scientific instruments that were available to determine that one star differed, or was different from another.

Furthermore, during his age, the vast majority of Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Philosophers, and other cultures that Paul preached at used the little knowledge that they knew about the Sun, the star of our planetary system, for astrology and worship.

Religious Background of 1 Corinthians 15:41

As we continue this short study, we need to make an extremely important note on a statement made by the Paul the Apostle that was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit. Colossians 2:8 says, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”

The difference between the Philosophy of the pagan world and the Theories of the Evolutionary Scientist is very minute. In most instances, a person can substitute the word “Philosophy” for “Theory.” The theories of the evolutionary scientist is his own philosophy of the natural world.

According to, “The American Heritage Dictionary, Fifth Edition.” Philosophy is,
1a. The study of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning.
    b. A system of thought based on or involving such inquiry: the philosophy of Plato.
    2. The study of the theoretical underpinnings of a particular field: the philosophy of science.

According to, “The American Heritage Dictionary, Fifth Edition.” Rudiment, n. often rudiments.
A fundamental element, principle, or skill.
Something in an incipient or undeveloped form. [Lat. rudis, rough, unformed.]

During the age of Paul the Apostle, the Chinese used their rudimentary knowledge of the Sun and the Constellations, the Zodiac, for astrology and pagan worship.

During the age of Paul the Apostle, the Egyptians used their rudimentary knowledge of the Sun for pagan worship. The name of their sun god was, “Ra.”

During the age of Paul the Apostle, the Romans used the rudimentary knowledge of the Sun for pagan worship. The name of their sun god was, “Sol Invictus.”

During the age of Paul the Apostle, the Greek Philosophers, used their rudimentary knowledge of the sun for pagan worship and astrology. The name of their sun god was, “Helios,” and later on they worshipped the god of light, “Apollo.”

When Paul the Apostle preached at Athens in Acts 17 he was looking at the images of the gods of the sun and gods of other deities, as well as the philosophers of the Epicureans and Stoics, he knew the pagan background of their beliefs and religions.

    The Holy Spirit

The Apostle Paul rejected the philosophical and rudimentary background of the beliefs of his age and preached against these beliefs.

The Holy Spirit revealed unto him that, “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.” 1 Corinthians 15:41 What Paul the Apostle stated was an accurate scientific fact that was not verifiable in his day.

“... for one star differeth from another.”

In 1666, Isaac Newton observed the Sun’s light through a prism and showed that the glory of the sun has many different colors.

In 1800, William Herschel discovered infrared radiation beyond the red part of the solar spectrum.

Since that time, many, many different types of experiments and instruments have discovered the Sun’s composition, nuclear fusion, ultraviolet emissions, corona, the solar wind, and many other data related the sun and its work in sustaining life in our solar system.

The Sun is a Star: white in color. Our sun is considered a ‘Yellow Dwarf’ star. The stars of the universe are not all the same: they are different from one another as Paul the apostle wrote. “... for one star differeth from another.” The differences, or ‘glory’ include: color, nuclear fusion power, Magnetic field, Sunspots, Radiative zone, radiation, mass, Tachocline, convection zone, Photosphere, and the Atmosphere (consisting of four distinct parts: the chromosphere, the transition region, the corona, and the heliosphere).

As every individual is a separate individual that has difference’s, so do the Stars of the Universe. “... for one star differeth from another.”

Currently, here is a listing of the different types of stars. Please take careful note. With the advent of instruments that are more precise, more powerful telescopes, space travel, and other scientific knowledge, the classification listed is bound to change.

    Main Sequence Stars.
    Red giant.
    White Dwarfs.
    Neutron Stars.
    Variable Stars.
    Proto Stars.
    ‘T’ Tauri Stars.
    Super giant Stars.
    Yellow Dwarf Stars.
    Blue Giant Star.
    Pulsar.
    Double Star.
    Binary Stars.
    Eclipsing Binary.
    Cepheid Variable Stars.
    Mira Variable Star.

    Conclusion

The scriptures, including the scientific statement as recorded by Paul the Apostle in 1 Corinthians 15:41, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is scientifically accurate. True, complete, and unbiased scientific knowledge will always support the biblical account of creation and the other scientific statements made in the scriptures.

The modern evolutionist, whether he is a scientist, a deluded scholar, or compromising minister, is a philosopher and is trusting in his own reasoning. More than often, this reasoning is based on a rudimentary knowledge of facts and they have ‘erred from the faith.’ The modern evolutionist is comparable to a pagan Philosopher.

Therefore, “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called. Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.” 1 Timothy 6:20 and 21

Believer (ish?) reacted to John81 in Why are Christians voting for Donald Trump?
There are many reasons, some of which do touch upon the "we are not voting for Pastor in Chief" arguments. In this, we must realize how many times Christians have been told this by so many Christian leaders and pastors as they tried to get Christians to vote for non-Christian and liberal Republicans. If millions of Christians could be told to vote for the Mormon (non-Christian), liberal Romney is it any stretch for millions of Christians to vote for Trump who calls himself a Christian (who has no testimony of being a born again Christian but then so have many other "Christian Republican" candidates Christians have been told to vote for over the years).
There are also many problems with the other candidates too, ranging from them not being moral Christians, doctrinally sound Christians or even Christian at all. Is it better to vote for those who are good at talking the talk but yet when they are looked at closely they fail the test of walking in true Christianity? Are we to now accept Seventh Day Adventists as being true, good Christians as we were told to accept the Mormon Romney as such?
Support for some candidates by the likes of off-the-wall Mormon Beck, the fraudulent Barton, various Charismatic preachers and others of shady character have turned some Christians away from those candidates.
Some Christians can't in good conscience vote for a woman for president (which is moot at this point for Republicans since Fiorina dropped out). Others can't in good conscience vote for those they firmly believe don't meet the qualifications for president. There are also those who opposed Obama based upon him being a freshman senator with too little experience to be Commander in Chief and they hold the same standard for Republican candidates as well.
Some polls and surveys of Christians (usually called "evangelical Christians") indicate those voting for Trump are doing so because they believe he will stand by his promises to build a wall on the southern border, stand against illegal immigration and amnesty for illegals, work for better international trade deals that would benefit America, that he will build up the American economy, that he will stand strong for the 1st and 2nd Amendments, he will strive to keep us out of foreign wars, etc.
We should consider the broader picture and realize this isn't the first time Christians have voted for a Republican who wasn't a born again Christian, who was Christian in name only, who didn't hold to every view we wished they did.
As with each candidate, there are a variety of reasons why some support and some oppose them.
Knowing that Jesus is Lord, our God works all things together for good, whether Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Hillary or Bernie is the next president, we can rest assured God's will shall be done.

The Water Distillation Cycle of the Earth
The water distillation cycle of the earth is very important to the life of mankind. Due to the fact that the water cycle process purifies the water it has also been called, “The Distillation Process.”
Job 36:27 & 28, “For he [God] maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof: Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.”
The water distillation cycle is an orderly, natural and complex cycle that is for the sustenance of the physical life of mankind. The Distillation Process is also an accurate scientific and verifiable fact.
The simple water distillation cycle of the earth is as follows: (1) Atmosphere – Clouds; (2) Precipitation; Rain, snow or ice; (3) Runoff - snowmelt; (4) Infiltration – Groundwater or Subsurface flow, Lakes, Rivers, and Ocean; (5) Evaporation / Condensation – Heat of the Sun. The Sun drives the Water Distillation Cycle and Distils or Purifies, the water, during evaporation.
Without the water distillation process life on earth could not be supported and the earth would soon become a wasteland. Exactly like the other planets, moons, and asteroids in the universe.
    The Distillation & Evaporation Process
Psalms 135:6 & 7, “Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places. He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries.”
Psalm 135:7, “He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth” the evaporation process distils the water. God caused or designed the water distillation cycle of the earth. Like all of the works of God, the Distillation Process is an orderly arrangement of the physical sciences for the benefit of mankind.
    Martyrdom for Bernard Palissy
Bernard Palissy, 1510-1590, is credited with being the initial discoverer of the water cycle. Palissy believed that the physical facts mentioned in the scriptures were scientifically accurate and verifiable. Palissy was correct.
Palissy was a Christian and martyred for his faith by the Roman Catholic Church.

    The Ordinances of Heaven
Job 38:33, “Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth? An ordinance is an established law or rule.
Astronomer and mathematician, Johannes Kepler 1571-1630, verified that the sun and the planets are governed by scientific laws, or ordinances. Johannes Kepler was a devout Christian. Kepler believed that God created the universe as the Bible says He did.
Psalm 119: 90 & 91, “Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.”  All of the ordinances of the physical universe were established by God. The ordinances of heaven include: the revolution of the earth the planets, the solar system, the revolution of the galaxy, and gravity. These ordinances were not understood throughout the centuries until scientists verified the ordinances of the solar system.
Johannes Kepler, and other scientists, has verified that the universe and all biological life is based on scientific fact. Evolution is based on randomness not verifiable scientific fact.
Jeremiah 31: 35-37, “Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.”
God established the ordinances of heaven, the physical universe, in Genesis chapter 1. These ordinances will continue until He creates the new heaven and the new earth: Isaiah 66: 22; 2 Peter 3:10-13 and Revelation 21:1

“But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.” (Mark 6:4)

A town will give great honor to a “hometown boy” if he makes good in athletics or the entertainment world. But if he becomes known as an influential Christian, the hometown folks usually are embarrassed about it. More...

I've witnessed this with others and experienced the same myself. Family and former friends become uncomfortable, defensive and verbally combative. So many who knew you or knew of you in the years before salvation can only think of this or that sin from your past which they allow to cloud their seeing the new creature you have become. Others take offense at the idea someone they once knew to be like themselves (basically, a lost sinner) are now "better than" them (in reality we are not "better", we are saved, and whatever light of Christ which shines forth through us bothers them).
These things should be expected as our Lord said living for Him would bring division within families.
Since these people will not hear me, I pray the Lord will send someone to them the Holy Ghost may use to bring them to salvation in Christ Jesus.

Believer (ish?) got a reaction from Pastor Scott Markle in Hello.
    Hello all,
I've had an interesting time in getting connected to the site, but have finally made it.    I am a new believer in God and Christ, but my wife has been a devout Baptist all of her life, so I am attending the church with her and have been exploring Baptist v. other denominations on the internet.   That search led me to this site which seems Ideal for one looking for a broad range of issues and discussions.  I plan on reading a lot, but am too new to know enough to give opinions, so I am thanking the writers, in advance, for sharing their knowledge.
