Correct, Hebrews 6 teaches eternal security.  It also teaches that one who professes Christ and runs with the devil was never saved to begin with.

Which would be false teaching. Hebrews 6 isn't talking about the saved losing salvation; which is impossible.

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. ~ Proverbs 16:1
I just read this verse this morning, and praise God for it because it comforts me greatly at the moment. I looked up the Matthew Henry Commentary on Biblehub.com and found out that every other bible rendering on the page besides the American King James Bible says that it is up to man to prepare his heart, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. So blessed to own a copy of the King James!

In the Book of Hosea, God gives a strange command to His prophet, he was commanded by God to marry a wife of whoredoms, in the first two chapters it deals with Hosea sadness but in the third chapter Hosea's wife Gomer is restore to him.  Chapter 4-14 deal with how the children of Israel were guilty of the same acts that Gomer had committed against Hosea, only they committed adultery against God.
But if your wife is not a believer and she wants to leave God states you are not under bondage in such cases, I Corinthians 7:13-16.
God give Christian man the toughest command to follow before he marries and that is: Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it;  Ephesians 5:26
Will be praying for your situation that you can show your wife that kind of love, in this awful situation, and God will return her to you just as He did Gomer to Hosea.

So when reading we see four types of grounds that the seed fell upon.  After struggling with a sin, since coming to Christ I really wonder if i am one of the 3 bad grounds.  What little I know of Scripture tells me when dealing with this sin of fornification (porn addiction) God will help to provide an answer, I Corithians 7:2; Hebrews 13:4 but as I continue in a losing battle, I not only learn to hate myself, but I don't fell to kind toward God.  This sin controls my members so that i am in bondage to it, .   Romans. 6:13 just waiting for God great judgment as I havre pleaded for mercy, . I Corinthians 3;16-17

Don't forget we see a couple verses later the writer of Hebrews saying of our Savior God the following:  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.  Hebrews 2:9  IMO this really give the believer a great answer to a Jehovah Witness of why Jesus called the Father greater than Himself in John 14:28.  For because of His love for us all, the Word became flesh, John 1:1-18 thus He who was rich became poor (II Corinthians 8:9) that we who trust Him are made rich as we become heirs of God, Galatians 4:4-7.  Praise God I have been born again or if you prefer adopted into the Family of God, because of my Precious Savior Jesus Christ.

19DuggarFan got a reaction from Covenanter in Pre Trib Rapture and Luke 21:20-24?
So I have a question concerning Luke 21:20-24 and pre-trib Rapture view.
    20)  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.   21)  Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not then that are in the countries enter thereinto.  22)  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.   23)  But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land; and wrath upon this people.  24)  And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the time of the Gentiles be fulfilled.      Luke 21:20-24
So if verse 24 is speaking of the pre-told future how will the Jews from Jerusalem be led away captive in all nations for just a short time before Jesus coming to Rapture the Church?

19DuggarFan reacted to TheSword in ...and all this time, I thought David killed Goliath!
While I agree with the comparison point by NN and DaveW, there's actually a little more nuance to the explanation that makes it all a little more concrete. In 1 Ch 20:5, "Goliath" is preceded by "achi" which specifies "brother of", thus "brother of Goliath" is clear. In 2 Sam 21:19, Goliath is preceded by "et". This is an untranslatable word that can is used as either a particle to designate a definite direct object (i.e. divides the subject/nominative and predicate/accusative parts of a sentence), or signify "with" or "among" for the following word.
In essence, then, what we have in 2 Sam 21:19 is probably an example of the latter that would woodenly read something like "...slew among/with Goliath the Gittite".  Here's the really cool part, 2 Samuel was written at a time when the immediate audience would be well aware of who Elhanan killed and therefore it wasn't necessary for the author to be as explicit, but rather used elliptical language. 1 Chronicles, on the other hand, was written centuries later to an audience who would not have been as immediately familiar with the events, and the author therefore needed to be explicit.
What we have in the KJV appears to be both a comparison and a faithful rendering of the text as it was intended.

19DuggarFan reacted to 2 Timothy 4:18 in Hey everyone
Hi folks. I've been saved for 44 years, which means nothing except had I died before now I would have gone to heaven. For a little over two years it has meant that I live submitting myself to His will for my life everyday. I retired a little more than three years ago from a job of about 29 years. Had intended to take another job and keep working but God had other plans. Due to some physical ailments I was not able to go back to work and for the last two years I've spent about 10 hours a day either studying or discussing Gods Word. I am always looking for different avenues for the Lord to lead me, maybe this can be one of them. I look forward to learning from others wisdom and guidance through the Word and offering my own when I can.
