Not wanting to get involved...a sure-enough malaise that had attacked this country - including Christians.

    1Timothy115,
Many thanks for the the posting of the American Family Association's, 'Anti-Christian Bigotry Map.' I appreciate it very much.
I think it would be good if all of the brethren looked at the website as it is very useful information in this day and age. Keep up the good work!

There were no "Palestinians" until the Arab nations (most notably Jordan) refused to allow those Arab Muslims which didn't want to live in Israel to enter their countries. This, even when most of them were from the country they were trying to enter (again, most notably Jordan). Israel's Arab neighbors created the Palestinians and the mess which has resulted as a direct means of fighting against Israel.
Notice who these "Palestinians" choose to have as their leaders: terrorists. That in itself is very telling. Consider how well you could deal with a neighbor who constantly vandalized your house, car and property. When you come out to try and speak with the neighbor he stands behind his wife and children, throws rocks at you and screams you are harassing him. There can be no peace or resolution to the matter until the hostile neighbor chooses to actually pursue peace rather than violence.
Israel isn't perfect, but they have a right to defend themselves and do what they believe best for their own people and country. Within Israel itself, Jews and Arabs tend to have good relations. They have developed a peaceful co-existence which benefits both. Israel's Arab neighbors, as well as the Palestinians could pursue such but they don't want to. Israel is in a precarious position being a very small nation surrounded by those who hate them while demographics is steadily working against them.
How did the British come to rule all the "home" Island? How did America gain and keep the land she now calls home? How did other nations? Israel is no exception, she has her homeland and must maintain it the same as our own nations and others around the world.

Actually John, there were "Palestinians" prior to that.
There was the Palestinian Symphony Orchestra in the 1930's which was made up of refugees.
A list of names is available in the link at the start of this post.
    Interestingly,  they were all Jews.

In the generic sense you are, of course, correct. There were those living in that land who used that term, since the British controlled the land but they themselves weren't actually British. Most who lived there were Jews so their use of the term was common.
The difference being, they knew they weren't a people who were Palestinians, unlike the Arab Muslims today portrayed as being an actual unique people known as Palestinians with rights to the so-called "land of Palestine".

    That's precisely my point.
They stole the name from Jewish refugees, and have invented a history that is just not true.

Oppression of Palestinians! I can't understand how anyone can make that claim. I am not about to say Israel does everything right politically but, they are not the aggressors in their region and are surely not oppressors of Palestinians. Palestinians should have already been given territories in the western parts of Saudi Arabia and S.E. Jordan. However, I think the British were the authors of this boundary dispute.

1Timothy115 reacted to Claire Allen in Former Presbyterian -- Now IFB
Hello y'all! My name is Claire. I recently left the Presbyterian church (I have been Presbyterian my whole life up until now) and am planning on attending my local IFB church starting in a few weeks. Before I decided I wanted to attend an IFB church, all I knew was that I disagreed with alot about my (now former) church's beliefs. I did my research and was amazed to find that I 100% agree with just about everything that most IFB churches teach.
After years of being ridiculed by my church family (even my own family) for dressing modestly (it's weird how they don't want me to dress provacitavely, but they have a problem with me wearing skirts and higher-neck tops), and reading KJVO, I am very happy to start visiting a church with other likeminded folks.
Please forgive me if I say something wrong, I have been attending a very liberal church most of my life and occasionaly slip-up. Thank you all for your kindness and warm welcome.
May God continue to bless you in all you do,
    Claire Allen

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
    3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

Accurate reports show that the aggressors are the Palestinians,  who have stated repeatedly that the only peace they will accept is the total destruction of Israel and all Jews.
Accurate reports show that anyone, regardless of background, race, or religious belief is far better provided for by Israel than BY ANY of the surrounding nations.
Accurate reports show that the ones responsible for the poor living conditions of Palestinians in refugee camps are the muslim nations who keep them in those camps and provide poorly for them in spite of the Muslim quran stating that any muslim nation can not Exclude any muslim seeking a home.
Accurate reports show that Israel use reasonable defensive measures, attacking only military targets, while the Palestinian fighters deliberately use children as shield, siting operations in Schools Etc.
Accurate reports show that Palestinian fighters do not target military site but civilian site such as day care centres,  school busses, cafés, shopping centres etc.
The ones forcing little Palestinian children through a childhood of war are the Palestinian fighters, who refuse to honour truces and who use those children as weapons in a propaganda war.

1Timothy115 reacted to Alan in Senators Open letter To Iran
The letter could have been better written. It seems like a warning to Iran to sit up and take notice. It also seems like some of our senators actually want to stand up against Obama. It's about time though that our elected representatives follow the Constitution of United States of America than the dictates of a President who violates the Constitution whenever he sees fit.
If the letter is factual I think it is good for our country and for the defense of America and Israel. Once Iran gets a nuclear weapon they will not stop at one weapon and then they will use all that they have against the United States and our ally, and friend, Israel.

Yep. It probably would be best if we did as Paul wrote and, '...think soberly..' more often. Hope that the evening service went well. I am very glad to hear your comments. Evidently I took your words out of context which led to a question mark on my thoughts and how to respond.
When a person is out soul winning a lot of our witnessing is our 'own words' to a large extent as we give our testimony and what the Lord has done for us.  Which is good. Sometimes our own personal experience helps a person understand what the scripture says.

1Timothy115 got a reaction from Jedidiah in Revelation chapter 19-22 Study.
I think you went beyond the face value of the scripture, comment, and the question. No personal attack intended directly or by implication, it was a hurried question on my way to evening service. The thought occurred while reading your original post, What 'version' comes out of my mouth each and every time I witness. I don't speak the KJV while witnessing door to door, the corner store, or elsewhere. So, more likely than not I give a "new version" of the Gospel every time I witness. If someone asked me to show them in the Bible what God's word teaches, then I pull out my trusty 1769 KJV and show them. I suppose each of us needs to read Romans 12:3-10, before we reply to each other.

All good comments...as far as I know, for that matter what do I know. It was only an observation based on one nation's actions with regard to sanctions. It appeared to me that my own country (USA) was complicit in breaking agreements with N.K. I don't see any pots stirred above, only reflection on what is perceived from watching the governments of the world interact. Here are some verses I thought were relevant.
Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

    1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1 Timothy 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
