    The follow-on question should have been: "Are you a woman?"
    If she answered "yes" then the next question would have to be: "how do you know, not being a biologist?"
    If she answered "no" or "I don't know", then what...?
    Regardless the answers given following that initial response, how can we trust this woman to adjudicate America's most pressing and sensitive issues when she can't even answer one of life's most basic fundamental questions?
    This one fundamental question established the fact that Ketanji Brown Jackson is not fit to be on the Supreme Court: or any court for that matter.

    We're not sure she'll be a Supreme Court Justice yet. There are still some variables to take into account, and some players might be changing their minds on their votes. If Susan Collins of Maine votes FOR her, as she did when they put her up for a Circuit Court or appellate positions a short while back, then we'll be in deep trouble. If this woman can't give the truth on what a woman is, and is giving out very lenient sentences to child sex offenders, she SHOULD NOT be on the SCOTUS.

    I did some follow-up research and have made a decision for myself. The following scriptures have provided me with an answer I can live with until Christ tells me differently.
    35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead.     Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. ~ 1 John 3:2
    There are many Scriptural reasons for believing that we will be raised with the same body that died. First, Christ was raised in the same body He had before He died. We know this because the tomb was empty (Luke 24:1-6) and because His resurrected body retained scars from the crucifixion (John 20:25, 27). Since Christ's resurrection is the pattern that our resurrection will follow (Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Cor. 15:49), then we will also be raised with the same body.
    20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. ~ Philippians 3:20-21
    26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. ~ John 20:26-27
    To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ~ Galatians 1:16

    I will be like Him and He is God and God is a Spirit, so I'll have a Spirit body

    IFWIW, I think most evangelicals do not have enough understanding of the history of the churches to know what to call themselves.
    I don’t personally consider Baptist churches Protestant, but I can see the Baptists who do not know their history considering themselves such. And to be fair, reformed Churches are much closer to a protestant heritage, since Calvin would be a Protestant. (He also persecuted Baptists, so there’s some interesting mingling of doctrine there!)

    I don't know which Baptist preachers you've been listening to, but all those topics are extremely common to hear sermons on. I've taught Bible study lessons on all those topics at one time or another.

    Way of Life Encyclopedia
    It is definitely worth getting - whether ebook or hardcover. I have both. The hardcover is a big book with 718 pages, two columns per page. Even if someone disagrees with some of his conclusions (though I have no problem with what I have read), he gives tons of Bible references and backs up his research. That link above will show you what kind of articles he has in his Encyclopedia - everything from a Bible dictionary defining every name and hard word in the KJV, to articles on cults and denominations (including Bible studies refuting the false doctrines of the cults), things about church history. Bible versions, Bible prophecy, geography, topical studies, extrabiblical Christian terms, types, Bible customs, articles on issues of Christian living, among others.

    I think I've got you. I had a somewhat 'Heinz' variety religious background before I found sound teaching from the Bible within the IFB community; stressing individual need to get into and know the Bible.

    I'm blessed. I've had the Bible and exceptional study resources for decades. I've had opportunity to compare doctrine with doctrine and practice with practice. My pastor presented me with something new this past Wednesday and I will not rest until I've exhausted every resource (scripture with scripture FIRST) at my disposal to validate His comment. 
    Similar to those at Berea, I needed to know if these things were true, of course I've not gained insight for every doctrine or faith practice; that won't happen until I get to glory.  I'm a skeptic by nature, but this one thing I know 1 Timothy 1:15. I'm blessed.

    I grew up in a Christian home and went to Bible college in Northern Indiana (not Hyles ? ) and have been in the ministry for 25 years. When some folks hear my background and disagree with my beliefs or doctrine, they say things like, "You just believe that because your dad/church/college told you that".  It's crazy that some folks will never believe that we do study the Bible as well and come up with our own conclusions based on our study. I disagree with some Biblical things with my father and the Bible College I attended.  These issues are not anything to separate over, but I'm also not going out there to prove them wrong or my prove superior intelligence ? 
    I have noticed a few patterns with these types of people that tell me this type of stuff and it turns me off.
    1) They are extremely proud and LOUD.
    2) They are very arrogant and confrontational
    3) Take one or two passages of Scripture and make a doctrine out of it
    4) Conversions about doctrine go off on Rabbit trails and insults
    4) They can never agree to disagree
    Come to think of it, I've been taught a whole bunch of junk as well in my life. I'm glad that can study the Bible out myself and come to my own conclusions. Proof that we don't teach everything we've been taught is that we've been taught so much in life that we would be all over the place with our beliefs and doctrine if we believed everything we have been taught.

    He teaches that sodomites cannot get saved - but the Bible teaches they can repent and trust the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
    1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
    We are to hate sin - but NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE WILL YOU FIND ANY JUSTIFICATION BY GOD TO TREAT ANY LOST PERSON IN A HATEFUL MANNER. Part of loving the lost is preaching the truth clearly to them, denouncing their sin, crying aloud and sparing not. However, it is a sin for you to lie to others, slander them, have hatred in your heart towards them, speak crudely to them, treat them without mercy and grace, etc. and there are MANY passages in the NT that teach these things and others about our conduct towards the lost.
    Matthew 5:43-48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
    We are to treat our enemies with love - that is how the Lord treated us and the only way they will ever be open to the truth and perhaps repent and turn from their sins to the Saviour. AND NO, loving our enemies doesn't mean we tolerate their sin or choose not to separate from their sin - and them - if they fit the passages where separation is commanded.
    And for the record, nowhere in the Bible is a believer commanded to hate Esau - that is who God hated because he rejected God and the inheritance God had for him.

    You do know that you're speaking to an audience who reads and studies the Bible and doesn't just listen to everyone who comes along with a new or worn-out attempt to insert another doctrine. I won't speak for everyone, but we have for decades studied this here on OB and personally. You are mistaken my friend on your understanding. I'm sorry you put your trust in a man who obviously caused you distress. Most of us are pre-millennia.
