And? Ronnie Floyd isn't the "end all" truth of the SBC. In fact, he's quite in question with many churches who give to the cooperative, which, at this point, many are not. Many are withholding funds or directing them to certain entities within the cooperative, such as the Annie Armstrong offering for missions. Many have stopped giving to the NAMB, Lifeway, the ERLC, and the IMB because of complications and inconsistancies within these organizations, and the problems with the leaders of these entities.
There is no compulsion to give, in spite of Mr. Floyds plea. These churches remain autonomous churches regardless of what Mr. Floyd, you, or anybody else says. No entity controls any of these churches, and they don't give account to a corporate head. As I've stated many times here, the "Convention" is only in an active state during the meetings each year to vote for the president and other offices. The president is nothing more than one to try and steer the group of churches toward a certain mission, but he has no real influence over any of the churches but his own if he is a pastor.
Actually, they are. And if you've not been a part of the SBC, you don't get anything. Sorry to be so blunt, but I'm tired of the continual bashing of the SBC, and frankly the IFB as well. It's counterproductive to the work of the Lord.
So, I've asked you both politely to stop before. I'm not a mod or admin, just an observer. You don't have to be SBC to read convention literature. That's all I'm going to say on the matter...I'm done, and I hope you two are done.

So, member churches of the SBC are not independent?
OK, I get it.
However, I believe this discussion needs to be elsewhere.

1. I wouldn't use NPR or administrators of the DOJ (both secular entities) as a measure for what is happening within the Christian religion. They appear out to attack Christianity and diminish Christ's authority in the U.S. and around the world.
2. Just my thought that both you (TGL) and (BT) are doing harm to faith in Jesus Christ by constantly attacking one another's denominations.
3. I'm not attempting to justify any of the INDIVIDUAL leaders within any denomination who practice or were involved in sexual sins. Know this, all Christians need to "know your sins will find you out" and "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
We could all use some time reading 1 John 3 & 4. 1 John 4:11 "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."

We had four this month and I think we had three last month. We had one saved this month, but he is not asking to be baptized yet.

I would guess the reason he is dressed in black is because that is what he had to wear at the time.

God uses who He chooses to complete the task (His will). Abram, Moses, Saul, David, Nebuchadnezzar, examine their lives and you'll find they were imperfect too. James must have demonstrated a characteristic which God decided would fit His purpose. It worked! we have the preserved Word of God for English speaking people.

The one in Revelation 4 is a complete circle, not an arc. All around the throne.
I don't know that to be a sure thing, Jerry. That brings a nice picture of completeness to mind.
I'll know better when all the Greek is digested or, if it is always present, when I get there. I had never seen a circular rainbow before. You'll give me a little liberty on my rainbow, I hope?

It was only a contrast not a coronation. If the initial description was activity and responsibility toward God and not toward men, then I still think its possible,

Did Adam Have A Priestly Position?
Reading 'Searching for ADAM, Terry Mortenson, Editor
He contrasts the verbs of Genesis 2:15 with the verbs in Numbers 3:7-10. Adams job description with that of the Levitical Priesthood.
I thought the possibility intriguing enough to garner thoughts from others. Adam the first created priest! Personally, having yet to compare other scripture, I will be looking further.

It’s just common sense we cannot serve the Lord and the devil at the same time, you will be with either one of the two at the moment.
If your son or daughter is serving the devil after they except Christ as their Savior the Lord may make them prove their faith, there’s nothing tricky about that.
I know that we do not have the ability to look inside the soul of anyone, only our Lord can do this. However, there are those who can give a false statement when faced with Christ as Lord and Savior. These folks, who insincerely profess are described by Christ in the four gospels several times. If their receiving of Christ's gift of salvation was sincere on their part, they will not suffer the great tribulation. There is some concern over what their meeting with Christ might be like, that is, rewards for faithfulness but, they will be saved none the less.

Putin is like the rest of the power craving 'elite', he wants a seat at the table of the great reset. Sadly, a nation I love is aligning itself for a seat too.

According to another report, one particular professor says he can't advance due to his perverted (my words, not his) choices. Since, prior to employment finalization, he had to sign a statement agreeing to their detailed statement of faith (which included a prohibition on deviant (again, my choice of wording) sexual behavior including pre-marital, extra-marital, and same-sex - he should be fired for breach of contract and see what the AG thinks of that.
More evidence of Satan attempting to bring in a "little leaven".

I just checked one of my past posts from September 30th and there is an edit button. I clicked it just to see and it seems I could edit the post if I wanted to. Although, I am using my laptop, perhaps the layout and options are different if you're on a phone or using an app?
I use 'Edit' from the drop down after clicking the three dots in the upper right corner.
One thing I would like to see again is individual's ability to freeze further comment on their own thread. Kind of a self-moderating ability when things begin to drift off course or dive into an argument.

I was a methodist mainly from being bought up in it and then through till my early 20s.
I remember seeing a methodist newsletter called Touchstone here in NZ and they had a piece where they were incorporating the Dalai lamas teachings into their doctrine. Being open to mystism. That was back in around late 90s to early 2000s
All this considered, we need to be careful to remember God's grace we are not overcome in our own local church.

I believe the Methodists have been heading that way for a while now. I know my great uncle, who was a pastor and evangelist with the Methodists decried the policies of the denomination. He saw the turn from the Gospel to the acceptance of things that no church should accept. Thankfully he was retired by then. He would definitely turn over in his grave if he were to see what was going on with them today.
Sadly true, my sister attends a Methodist Church.

I haven't stopped praying for you both since the earlier fall. My mother fell and broke the same bone, same arm, she was in her mid 80s. So, praise God Vivian isn't there yet.

In the Bible the first climate change was the flood and the Lord said, he will not do this again, but later mentions that the world will be judged by is Climate change true, and where does it apply to us in, the last days. Can man do anything to prevent the climate, and any changes. Is it too late to do anything. Finally should Christian care, and pray about this. I never heard a preacher say we need to pray regarding our climate.
I've heard it said, the results of a world-wide flood of this magnitude and duration may still be felt today.

"I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley," Songs 6:11
It reminds me of the joke about California. "The only thing that comes from California are fruits and nuts." Couldn't help the latter...old Navy humor.

Believe me, having been on this campus a couple of times in the past, this is far from a "Christian" college. They may use the term "Christian," but I saw no evidence of it.
Methodism may be headed for a train wreck.

You could almost get away with that thinking as an adult, (i say almost) because then you are expected to make your own choices. But toddler age kids are now getting taught to think this way too.
There were some who I heard say, "as long as they leave me alone, I don't care what they do." Sadly, I never challenged that line of reasoning. Now, fifty years later I regret not speaking out. Non-actions can have consequences (bad outcomes) too.

I know Russia is highly adverse to homosexuality. "While it's not against the law to be in a gay relationship in Russia, same sex marriages are illegal. LGBT rights groups say homophobic attacks have rocketed since president Vladimir Putin approved the controversial law outlawing the promotion of a gay lifestyle to minors in 2013."
With the world, including our own "president" fawning over the homosexuals (and promoting) and the rest of the sodomizing off shoots; I wonder about the world's expressed sympathy for Ukraine. So, NATO nations being the primary infection hot spots doesn't surprise me. I suppose I should avoid any theory at this point but, the Bible is clear about not only the offender of this blatant sin but those who would support it being guilty of the same (cf. Romans 1:32). It could follow that there are a great many in NATO leadership positions who are guilty. As for the children who have contacted this dreadful disease, I would have to research their demographics to see why they would be contracting a disease spread primarily by sexual contact. Now, if we suddenly begin to see "leaders" contracting this disease it will serve as unproven but possible evidence of loose sexual conduct.
