  1. Tears are welling up with the weight of this burden that you have, brother Jim.  Even though the tears are uncomfortable, I praise the Lord for them...for they cause it to be necessary for me to run to our dear Lord and lift the burdens up to Him.  What a wonderful and comforting thing it is to remember that "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us"!  I pray also for journey's mercies as you make the long drive there and back, and that the trip itself will be a time of blessing for you.  Constantly I refer to James 1:5, and so I will also pray for wisdom for you and the sister going with you as you help make decisions.

  2. I too will be lifting you up in prayer, dear Rosie!  I shall pray that you will have that great peace that passes all understanding, and that "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort..." (II Cor. 1:3).

  3. :)  Your edit brought out the correct and specific answer I was seeking, Mike!  You are so right that indeed Jesus walked in the treasury, and wherever He so chose to walk!  Praise Him for His omnipotence, huh?  Your answer was also correct, 2ndTimothy, and sorry about that...but Ukulelemike answered just before you.

  4. Oh yes!  We love geocaching, and we do our best to "dedicate" our time enjoying this "hobby" to God's glory.  We have met many, many people thru geocaching, and we always try to be a testimony that shines on our precious Saviour.  We have met several fellow believers that cache, and we try to be of encouragement to them...and we've also met many, many other cachers that need the Gospel.  Opportunities to share Christ are plentiful with local cachers, as well as at geocaching events.  We have seen little New Testaments, numerous tracts, and other such items left in the regular size caches before - and we have left several tracts ourselves.  We created a "Puzzle" cache called "The Flood Boat" that cachers have to go to the Word (KJV) to find "clues" in, in different passages of scripture to figure out the coordinates of the cache.  We recently had a "Treasure Hunt" for two of our grandsons...and they had to keep their "Swords" handy because they each had to read a verse and figure out the common word in each....to figure out the "hint" for each one.  Each cache was also named with an Easter term, and we all had lots of fun.  We realize that geocaching is not for everyone but we truly enjoy the fresh air, the exercise, the beauty of the areas that we go to, the relaxation from stress that it affords us, the "exercise" of our minds and skills of observation, and best of all....the different people that we've gotten to meet.

  5. "So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him (I Kings 19:19).

    24 oxen

  6. John...LOL

..."Unto the angel of the church of EPHESUS...." (Rev. 2:1 and also Rev. 1:11 - "...What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto EPHESUS....")

  7. Acts 4:36 - "And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of CYPRUS..."

  8. Wow, Rosie!  Isn't it just so very glorious how the Lord works, and His timing, and all?  Along with others here, I sincerely pray that this dear gal will be saved.  The Lord loves her so very much and that love has given Stella yet more opportunity to come to Him!

  9. My heart goes out to Jason and to his folks.  We are very familiar with Redding, and so I do hope that they will be able to find the help there that is needed.  I have a niece who actually works in a program that provides for needs such as Jason's...though her specific job may focus on little ones rather than young adults.  What precious, precious people the developmentally disabled ones are!  We have a grandson who has "Fragile X Syndrome" and so is developmentally disabled because of it, but oh what a wonderful gift he is!  There is so much to learn about life and living and God's love through these dear gifts that the Lord has blessed us with!  I shall lift up Jason and his family in prayer.

  10. Big smiles!  Yay!  Thank you so much for posting these things about "sheep"!  We raised lambs for 11 years, and the Lord taught me sooo much thru them!  All I can do is smile when I think of those critters.  Jesus was called the "Lamb of God" - and Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd" - and David said, "The LORD is my shepherd...", and there are lots more references.  Hmmm...I can't seem to swallow that the Lord Jesus created something "stupid".  It is our own sin that makes us "BAA'd"!  Praise God for sending the Son to be the ultimate and complete "sacrifice" (that perfect, unblemished "lamb") to pay the wage for our absolute sin-depravity, and that if we are in Him...new creatures.  What a gift!  "Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me..." - raising lambs taught me a lot about the "rod" and the "staff".  I've been knocked down from behind by a lamb, but that lamb didn't know me yet.  In time with firmness when needed, yet always motivated with care...the lambs always got to know my voice and would respond with trust.  Even "wayward" lambs eventually came around.  Just think of how we have the perfect Shepherd!  I could tell many a story about my experiences with lambs, but every one of them is a wonderful lesson and picture of our dear Saviour's love, gentleness, His justice, and His grace!
