  1. It sounds unusual Invicta, but sometimes the unusual turns out wonderful.
  2. Or, when someone is vindictive and wants everyone to see his post before he is banned. ?
  3. Tony, someone made a new post in that old thread about tithing. I responded to it and then followed back through all four pages of the thread. In doing that I found your old post about tithing and thought I would reply to it simply because I had not seen it before and therefore did not reply to it. I hope this answers your question I never meant for anyone to not discuss this topic, I just suggested that before they did, they should see what has already been posted about it before starting a new thread on the same subject.
  4. Malachi 2:1 (KJV) And now, O ye priests, this commandment is for you.
  5. God has ordained that His work be financed by the members of a local church. Acts 4:33-37 (KJV) And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
  6. A local church should be financed entirely by the members of that church. Bake sales, yard sales or appeals to the community should never be used to finance the needs of Gods people. God is not a beggar that needs to depend on the ungodly to further The Gospel. We have Scriptural example set forth for our instruction. God has ordined that His people should finance their needs through voluntary free will offerings in the Church age.
  7. We had Rib Eye steaks cooked on the grill by yours truly. Veggie was Broccoli. No carbs of sugars for us due to my wife's diet and my type 2 diabetes. I miss starchy stuff, but it is necessary to keep my blood sugar in check. My doc said that if I can control my blood sugar with diet, i won't have to use insulin, so, I need to be careful. Love Rib Eye cooked on the grill!!!
  8. Tony, I also had not heard of a "Cowboy" church until I saw it mentioned on this forum. How does it differ from a traditional IFB church, and are they indeed IFB churches?
  9. Iconoclast, in my opinion you and your heretical posts targeted at me personally, do not deserve a reply; but out of Christian courtesy, I choose to reply to your accusations against me in your text above. You will find my responses directly under your accusations in this boldened contrasting text color. But before I get to that, as an administrator on this forum, I want to address your presence and motive for being on this message forum. Like the many heretical false teachers/preachers before you that have joined this forum; you burst on the scene in full blown teaching or preaching mode, without so much as the courtesy of introducing yourself. Members here cannot even determine if you are a Christian, since you have consistently refused to give a testimony of your salvation, if you have one, although you have been asked for such testimony several times. Based on your actions and posted content on this forum it is patently evident that you are here to argue, cause division and promote the heretical doctrine of Calvinism. This is made evident, not only on this message forum, but also on other message forums that you have joined and posted on. The very screen name you chose is a strong indication of your adversarial nature. The stated purpose of this message board is one of Christian fellowship with like minded believers and to the edification of those believers as Independent Fundamental Baptists. Since the beginning your presence here has been anything but the aforementioned. You also appear on the scene with the arrogant attitude that you know more than anyone else here and set about to straighten us out. If this sounds harsh, it is meant to be and I resent being pushed to moderate with a heavy hand. So, in this respect you may consider this a warning to cease and desist with pushing your Calvinist attack on this message board and also stop posting your long "copy and past" writings of others of your ilk. Titus 3:10 (KJV) A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; 1 Timothy 1:3 (KJV) As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, Proverbs 16:18 (KJV) Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Pr 6:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: Pr 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, Pr 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, Pr 6:19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
  10. I am not Morales Tony, but I think he was taking a jab at Iconoclast's faulty interpretation of Scripture. But, on reading it again, I may be wrong; I'll shut up and let him answer.
  11. Brother Dave, please don't make yourself so scarce; we/I miss you greatly.
  12. Nonsense, the elect are the elect and known as such after the fact, not before it. It is quite ironic that you would accuse me of a direct denial of Scripture, when all through this thread you have vehemently denied any Scripture that says "all men" or just "all". You will find no converts to your man made doctrines here, best you stick to your Calvinist friends.
  13. I don't care if commentators agree with me or not. I can read and come to my own conclusions with the help of God's Holy Spirit. I have no need of Calvinist teaching that is wholly man made.
  14. Iconoclast seemed to be an odd screen name, so I went looking for a definition, which I found very interesting. Based on this definition it would appear that he is here to attack those that do not hold to his beliefs, rather than seek Fellowship with like minded Christians. i·con·o·clast /īˈkänəˌklast/ noun 1. a person who attacks cherished beliefs or institutions.
  15. Iconoclast Has anyone on this board agreed with your Calvinistic position? No? This should speak volumes, since the people on this board are Christians and every one that has responded to you has disagreed with your position. Has it ever entered your mind that you just might be wrong?
  16. Well said and thought out Bro. Scott. Thank you for taking the time to post this in sequence, showing that the "election" of the Bible is not predicated on "predestination", which would be before the fact of salvation. What you have rightly shown is that instead of the elect being shown as such before their Salvation, they are indeed the elect because of Salvation. The Calvinist position puts the cart before the horse, so-to-speak. They posture that since God elected the sinner he will be saved, when actually once he has been saved, he is then of the elect.
  17. I answered your question. You quoted Scripture and I said Scripture is never twisted. It is your interpretation of Scripture that is twisted; I said that in another reply. You are so right Bro. Tony. As my old missionary pastor used to say: "All means all, and that is all that all means."
  18. Jesus did not create any Denominations, He built His church. Denominations are of man made origin. So, to answer your question, I would have t say NONE. Baptist was the original true church and remains so up to this day.
  19. Of course Scripture is never twisted, it is the Calvinist interpretation of Scripture that is twisted, as is yours.
  20. At the top, right of each post you will see these three things: Author members then three dots which are "other options". Under other options there is an "edit" choice.
  21. It is preposterously amazing how a Calvinist, or a person blinded by Calvinist doctrine, can twist Scripture to make it conform to what he or she believes, rather than letting Scripture form his or her belief system. As proven in this thread, their tenacity to wrest Scripture would interpret a Scripture such as this: Revelation 22:17 -- "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." to indicate that God did not mean what He clearly said. In this instance God clearly said "whosoever", but He really meant only the elect. This would indicate that the God of all Heaven and earth is incapable of expressing what He clearly means. This leaves us with only two choices: believe Iconoclast or believe God; I think I will choose to believe the God that saved a wretch like me.
  22. Deflection doesn't work with me. My post to you stands as written.
  23. Iconoclast, this is rude and uncalled for. If you cannot make your points and arguments without personal attacks and bashing others, try doing as Bambl's mother said; "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Please consider this a warning; OB is a Christian message board, not a platform to be rude and abusive.
  24. I've never heard of hamburger steaks; is this what is normally called a Hamburg patty?
  25. According to scripture there cannot be any Apostles today. No one can qualify. Acts 1:22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
