  1. Yes, although you have to consider the source. TGL cannot seem to post anything that is not controversial. As far as he is concerned, the more controversial the better. Sorry TGL, but I, and I suspect others, are getting a bit tired of this kind of posting.
  2. There are many nits to pick in this subject I guess. It is bordering on the ridiculous. "Bible"" is not in the Bible either, nor is local church, so I guess they just don't exist.
  3. TGL, I think that you will find that there is a vast difference between Scripture using the words "all or most" and individuals using it as their opinion and as a blanket statement.
  4. There is a big difference in the two. Karate is a martial arts regime, while Yoga has many spiritual aspects.
  5. Ok folks, this is one of those topics that have been beaten to death. As our forum owner has said in our guidelines, "we don't need multiple threads on the same subject." Please use the search feature to see if there are already threads on this subject.
  6. In my opinion this is a rarity, most church members are just happy to see new people coming, doesn't matter where they sit. It is true that most church members like to sit in their favorite place, but not at the expense of asking someone else to move; that would be pretty rude.
  7. I will add you and your wife to my nightly prayer list Brother Tony.
  8. Many different kinds of calls are addressed here. But the way I read the OP, I read it as a call to preach. Addressing it as a call to preach and having experienced it myself, I will say this: God's call to a man to preach is very specific, unmistakable, understood as a burden, terrifying to some, and does not "just go away" with time. 1 Corinthians 9:16-17 (KJV) For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
  9. Once again; how do YOU know that anyone, Christian or not, is voting Democrat? HOW DO YOU KNOW HOW ANYONE IS VOTING? Personally, I do not know of any Christians in my circle of people that voted for Biden. So, from my point of view you are just assuming and hoping no one will question what you say.
  10. What a tragedy, I will be in prayer for all involved and also for your eye situation. You have been missed.
  11. How can you possibly know that any Christians are voting for the Liberal Party? Or, how can you know how anyone is voting?
  12. Welcome Brother Russ. We look forward to your participation and hope that your time here will be uplifting and profitable to you, as well as us.
  13. John 16:8-14 (KJV) And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. John 15:26 (KJV) But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
  14. Salyan, I don't know about where you live, but where I live TP was certainly hoarded at the beginning of the Pandemic. My wording in saying "well in advance" may have been the wrong term, because there was no "well in advance" at the beginning of the Pandemic. It was hoarded to the extent that there was none available anywhere for over a month. Once it became available it was rationed by store clerks to keep people from hoarding; you couldn't just go in and grab a package, you had to get a clerk to give you one and it was kept at the front of the store so they could monitor it. This was not just one store, but all of them. Even paper towels and napkins were affected because people were using them in the absence of TP. And it wasn't just TP; some stores looked like they were going out of business because the shelves looked bare. People were certainly hoarding. Any time you see someone pushing a cart and pulling a second one, both full of the same product, that is hoarding and perhaps, "well in advance"
  15. I find it quite presumptuous for men to think that they can undo what God has put in place and sustains. Hebrews 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
  16. Since Florida is a peninsula they are sure to be impacted. But one thing in their favor is that they are not on the Atlantic Coast where most hurricanes come ashore. Once in a while they do come ashore in the gulf though, that would put them in immediate danger. Still praying for them.
  17. Bro. Tony, not to be picky, but Seminole is a suburb of St. Petersburg, not Tampa. Tampa Bay separates Tampa from St. Petersburg. Seminole is actually closer to the Gulf Coast than Tampa. I lived just one town away from Seminole in Pinellas Park years ago. But aside from being picky, I will be in prayer for those that may be affected.
  18. No Tony, hoarding was my word. I used it because of any possible extreme circumstances like we experienced in the Pandemic. My usage of that word was predicated on what you said here: "There is absolutely nothing wrong with being prepared and buying things one knows will be necessary if the storm hits certain areas.".
  19. But there is something wrong with hoarding; as in the recent Pandemic, where no one could even find a roll of toilet paper because others hoard well in advance. That is a "me first" attitude that has no place among true believers.
  20. TGL, the scriptures you quoted have nothing to do with burning bibles; that is where the confusion comes in.
  21. My GPS did this, and this is only a mild example. Drove for fourteen hours, needed a motel badly. Searched for a motel and the GPS said there was one nearby. I followed the voice instructions until it said, "you have arrived". The problem was that there was no motel, or even any dwelling at all, I was looking at an expanse of forest with no sign of civilization of any kind.
  22. i don't have those problems with MapQuest, but do have them with GPS.
  23. What would be really nice is if the TWO of you stopped the constant bickering. Remember what Bambi's mother said: "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
  24. There was no Levitical priesthood at that time. That, plus the fact that there was no reason for a priesthood at that time since there were no other people. A Priest intercedes for others.
  25. Thanks to all for prayer. As of today the fires seem to be lessening due to the efforts of firefighters. The one I was caught in is almost fully contained after burning 60,000acres and covering a distance of 50 linear miles. 87 homes wiped out and four lives lost. Two of the fatalities were right in the same stretch of road I got caught on. They were found deceased in their burned out car in their driveway. There is still one fire that is about seven miles from me, that seems to be holding in place, t least for the last day it has held. I made it to church today, but had to do some fancy talking to get through the road closures.
