  1. Many times it is difficult to understand another persons situation when you don't know all the facts. Therefore it is hard to make a valid suggestion about the situation. In this case I know where totoosart lives. He lives in a country where Christianity is not only banned, but the authorities actually seek out Christians and try to detect where and when they may be meeting. If the authorities find them or their meeting place there, can be life threatening consequences, in other words they could be arrested and even put to death. So this situation can have dire consequences for him if he is not extremely careful. Just owning a Bible or trying to give out Bibles can be dangerous.
  2. I'll say it again, it bears repeating. A 99.8% recovery rate for ALL Covid cases, including the "at risk" and those with other medical problems does not constitute a pandemic!
  3. Brother Scott, please rest assured that you are not talking into the air on this subject and as I read your thoughtful comments on this subject, I have to say that I agree with them in total. And this is not in agreement just because you brought it out, this has been my understanding for many years. Though I say this has been my understanding, I have to say that you have laid it out in a much easier manner to understand than I ever could. I have always believed the underlying point that The Holy Spirit is the "witholder", but lacked the expertise to elaborate on it in the manner in which you have. Thank you for clarity of mind and explanation.
  4. Yes, I was the one that said that Brother Tony. But that was assuming that those being taught were in a sound NT church and under a true God called pastor. It would be gross error to say someone should only get their spiritual food from a false church or heretical pastor. I have seen too much of church members being led away from the truth by listening to TV preachers and also by "church hopping". God gives each one of us a particular, local church to belong to; there we are taught and edified and also contribute to and encourage the other members of that local body.
  5. Welcome back Trapperhoney, we missed you.
  6. Although I have recently been diagnosed with type two Diabetes, I had Neuropathy for many years before that. Mine is a degenerative Neuropathy, an actual disease where my nerves are degenerating, it is not curable and unlike yours, no medicine will help. I have an implant that is supposed to help, but it doesn't. The only good thing is that unlike most people who have this, I have no pain associated with it. Just very unstable and weak. Keep safe, be careful and stop falling.
  7. $5's $10's or $20's ??? I like a side salad as long as it is a "side" of beef. ?
  8. I'll put you on my prayer list brother Tony. I don't have any of those things but my wife does have vertigo frequently, it is no fun. I am disabled and at risk for falling. I have to be very careful, especially when I am alone, like out in the woods or away from people. I have Peripheral Neuropathy with no feeling from my knees to my toes. It results in me being very unstable on my feet. On a flat surface I cannot even stand in one place without use of my cane, I weave around like a drunk and cannot walk or stand for long periods. When I preach or teach I am barely able to stand long enough to get through the sermon, but God has allowed me to be effective in spite of this. On uneven ground I am at a severe disadvantage and need two forearm crutches to walk, which makes it difficult because I have been an outdoorsman all my life. I can't walk into a dark room or be in the dark because if I can't focus on something visual I will certainly fall. But again, my small woes seem very small in comparison to what you go through, I will certainly pray for you without fail.
  9. If Gates is so sure that he has a handle on population control, he should willingly and happily put himself in first place on his list.
  10. I don't know where or how folks come up with this kind of thing. Then the next thing they say about whatever it is, is that "MOST" churches are doing whatever it is. This has not been my experience and to me speaks more to the need for sincere, grounded Christians to be in and loyal to, their own churches. As I have said so many times before, there is no need for church members to be getting their spiritual food in any other place than your own church. If you do not agree or are not getting fed in your local church, you need to be somewhere else. Church hopping is only asking for trouble.
  11. IT IS NOT A VACCINE BB If it is not a vaccine any arguments you present regarding it being a vaccine are moot.
  12. Mine is my original one, had it re-bound twice. It is a Cambridge and the font is not large font, but it is bold. Quite easy on the eyes. No wide margins.
  13. According to that article it is not Venus itself that is the target, it is the act of using the gravity of Venus to "slingshot" the spacecraft out toward the sun. We also need to keep in mind that our space program has not been useless and a waste of money. Science as well as industry has benefitted greatly from things in our space program that never would have happened or been known of except for the space program.
  14. I agree completely and in total with Bro. Scott's reply. I too am a dispensationalist to some extent, but will not be classed with Andersonites or any of that, or any other heretical ilk. In a strict definition of "The Gospel", the answer to this question becomes blatantly clear, there is only one Gospel, which is, the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  15. There seems to be another oddity among those that are so vocal about women wearing pants. I have heard it so many times that it causes me to wonder just what these people are thinking about when they get on this subject. That oddity is a hyphenated word that they use to describe pants, but only when talking about women wearing them. The hyphenated word is "split-legged"; as in, women should not wear split-legged pants. Just seems odd to me, is there any other kind, or are they only split-legged when women wear them?
  16. Would your idea of an honest discussion at a brother's house include your being sarcastic and condescending?
  17. Bill, this that you replied is not only condescending, it borders on sarcasm. This is not an attitude that Christians should exhibit, especially in public. To make matters worse, you speak like this to the owner of this message board, whose board you are a visitor on. Would you dare to speak in this manner if you were visiting his house? I think not, but you seem to have no problem with doing it here were you can sit behind a screen.
  18. I was not saying that the statement was not well known BB. I was pointing out your supposed need to use his words to slam all Christians, whether or not they fit in the role depicted.
  19. Jeff, I appreciate your thoughts and comments on this post. But keep in mind that this is a message board, not a church, which is what Scripture points to in not allowing heresy in the midst of the church. as long as the rules of the message board are not broken, normal ideas and conversation is allowed and encouraged.
  20. Nonsense; now you are advocating for Indian Mystics and condoning the "putting down" of God's people as a whole group. Perhaps you should consider becoming a follower of Gandhi.
  21. Jeff, the board rules state that if you quote or post Scripture, you do it from the KJV. What you posted from the Berean Study Bible is not KJV.
  22. It was not until I found an joined this forum that I really realized how many Christians either promote or are drawn to what can only be called pet subjects. What I mean are subjects that certain people grab on to, to the exclusion of almost everything else. We have seen a lot of this lately; I won't go into the actual subjects since they will identify the ones holding them. But I think most here will know who and what I refer to. I have been exposed to some things of this nature in real life, but here on these forums "Hobby Horse" subjects seem to be unpleasantly common. It is extremely uncomfortable when the person that "gloms" on to certain subjects and can't get off of them is a pastor or teacher, but many Christians seem to get in this rut too. In real life the subjects that I have seen over done are things like; Women wearing pants, women must have long hair, tithing, divorce, men must wear a tie to church, or anyone preaching or teaching must wear a suit and tie, government. The list can go on and on.
  23. Sorry, I was assuming that the person was an IFB and attending a doctrinally correct local church. After all, this is an Independent Baptist message board.
