  1. Job 19:26 (KJV) And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
  2. Thanks for joining and posting Jen. We are glad to have you here and look forward to your interaction. One of our mods is from AB CA.
  3. This doesn't make sense to me, all of it. I can't tell what you are saying, from what you are saying others say. As far as an invitation goes, there is no requirement for an invitation, nothing wrong with one, but it is not required. God's Word is sufficient to save anyone, without me also inviting them. Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Romans 4:6 (KJV) Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
  4. I noticed that too Jerry; that's why I said what I did.
  5. The title of this thread is more than a little odd, it seems to try to set Baptists apart from others. Anyone that is saved is saved by faith, not works; it is not only Baptists that are saved this way. There is no other way to be saved. Baptist are Saved by Faith, and not by Works
  6. As for me, there can be no argument that teaches that the Apostles were wrong. For if anyone says or believes this, they are basically saying that the Holy Spirit that inspired the Scripture is wrong also.
  7. I was not raised in a Christian home and was from a broken family. I was saved in a Bible believing, small church in the wilds of Alaska. As a babe in Christ, as every new believer is, I had no other method of learning other than what was taught by my missionary pastor and Sunday School teacher. Most new believers who have never been exposed to religion of any sort are at a loss as to how to even study. In the beginning they have to just trust that what they are being told is the truth. Growing in Christ is a process of learning, submitting to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and proper, diligent study. In my opinion, anyone that denies they have been influenced by the teaching of others is deluding themselves. This does not mean that we have to hold to our original teaching if there may be error in it somewhere. But we should follow good, proper and biblical teaching, as the Holy Spirit guides us. Paul spoke of this concept when he wrote: 2 Timothy 2:2 (KJV) And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Learning within the halls if our local church is the method that God has chosen for our edification; after all, the local church is called "the pillar and ground of the truth". As such, it is a beginning point of learning, but our learning process should not stop there, for we are instructed otherwise. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Granted, there are those that will always declare that we only believe what we have been taught; these are usually people that cannot defend their position on doctrine and usually have an argumentative spirit. Just because my interpretation of a subject or doctrine lines up with what someone else may hold to, does not mean that I have not arrived at the same conclusion on my own. Of course there is always the case where my diligent study has backed up what someone else has previously taught. in that case I would be teaching what I have been taught, but only after proving it biblically. So, I think that anyone that asserts that I only believe what I have been taught, cannot possibly know of my study habits. diligent study and submission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in my life. In other words, they declare that I only believe what I have been taught, as a defense when they cannot defend their position on any given subject. They have usually run out of contextual, comparative Scripture at this point.
  8. Richg, it is customary when visiting a new forum where you are not known, to go to the "Introduction" thread and introduce yourself, and tell a bit about yourself. Please consider doing so.
  9. I'll be in prayer for you Bro. tony. Please go as soon as possible. If it was a stroke it is critical that you be seen asap, meaning within hours or less, not days.
  10. Pan fried chicken breast, with gravy from the drippings. Mashed potato and asparagus.
  11. Thanks for the update LuAnne. Will continue to pray that she will eventually return to some sense of normalcy.
  12. I've also read that a little leaven, leavens the whole lump. Error is insidious that way.
  13. Once you get away from local, visible church, the one God put you in, this sort of heretical nonsense is not hard to find. Hence the reason I never listen to radio, TV, or Internet preaching. God put me in the church He wanted me in and under the preacher He wanted me to listen to, that's good enough for me.
  14. In that video he keeps talking about a "blockade". I thought it was a simple convoy, why is he calling it a blockade? He also says it is "illegal" many many times, what is illegal about a convoy? He also said it was taking over neighborhoods....what?????
  15. He will be right in his own mind, no matter what evidence anyone presents. He is not even willing to look in a dictionary for the answer to the question he keeps repeating.
  16. And you completely missed my point, which was: It is NOT a vaccine!!! The point was NOT vaccinated or not vaccinated; it was that this is not a vaccine. Whether it is a statistic or not was NOT the point.
  17. It has been my experience that it is looked down on because many of those that want the sinner to repeat the prayer will declare that the sinner is saved if he or she does. To these people it is a numbers game, the more people that repeat the prayer, the more people the soul winner can add to their list. Those that decry using the sinner's prayer during soul winning see it as "easy believism". In other words, " they said the prayer, now they are saved".
  18. Thanks Jerry. I was going to word a reply a lot stronger than that; but what you posted will do.
  19. I fear for those that will be influenced by this sort of error. I also fear for the "preacher boys" holding to this error; but especially am concerned about the institutions and teachers that would not only allow this sort of error, but go on to not correct it. This does not bode well for the future of IFB.
