    We were able to bring Randy home yesterday. It was late in the day when we finally got here, but praise the Lord! He has to go in tomorrow and get his INR checked so he can begin getting regulated on his warfarin. We aren't able to find a primary care physician right now, so he's going through the Urgent Care here. There is one place that he can apply to and maybe in 8-10 weeks he can get a doctor. Unless he wants to pay $65/month for a concierge doctor who then charges anywhere from $34-$248 per office visit. sigh...
    I would appreciate (I'm saying this an awful lot lately) continued prayer. For him - he has to walk often and it is still very painful; for his meds adjustment; and for our finances. We do not have insurance at this time and so we are rather flattened with this.  Randy's hours have been cut of late, even before this. And I have just found out that the second girl I homeschool may not be coming back - very little money from that, but it helped a bit. But we know our Father is in control and is more than able to help us. Hence the request for prayer.

    I'm posting a copy of the email update I sent out this morning:
    Randy is doing a good bit better today. His leg is still swollen and still hurts to walk on, but nowhere near what it was last Wednesday. They did a sonogram on his heart yesterday and it was beating strongly and regularly. He takes short walks down the halls - walking helps reduce the swelling, and the more the swelling reduces, the less it hurts.   He was supposed to be discharged this morning, but this entire area got hit by a snow storm last night.  Snowfall ranged from 1-14" across the peninsula and over Seattle. Because of the mountain roads, the water, and the high hills of Seattle, we are not going to be able to go and pick up Randy. So he'll be staying another day. Snow is supposed to keep falling until 4 pm this evening, so I'm not sure about tomorrow yet, either.   None of this took God by surprise, even though each day has brought something surprising to us. And even though it brings us some angst, we can rest in knowing that God is in control and allows all things for our good and His glory, to form us to the image of Jesus. Some days it seems the clay's being pounded harder, but the end result is going to be beautiful!   Thank you so much for praying - I cannot express our gratitude strongly enough! Knowing that so many friends were praying has been a great source of comfort. We appreciate your continued prayer for his recuperation and the results of the hospital stay as well.

    Better check reliable sources. Liberal wingnuts have put this forth, but I have seen nothing from official sources about this. It's all part of the hysteria because Donald Trump won.

    Hi, I'm new. I'm a Christian but not Independent Baptist. I was saved many years ago as a teenager trusting in Christ. Just interested in what you folks have to say.

    Brethren,
    "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty." 1 Timothy  2:1 and 2
    May we pray that God will bless President Donald Trump and those in authority over us.
    May we pray that President Trump, and our civic leaders, will be protected as they lead our country and to give them courage to abide by the Constitution of the United States of America and to do the will of God in matters for the betterment, and safety, of our country.
    I want to thank God for President Trump, and those in authority over us, and pray for their well-being.

    Brethren,
    Donald Trump made a great economic speech at the, "Detroit Economic Club," in Detroit, MI
     I rarely watch full speeches by any politician, and, personally did not care to hear Trump in a full speech, but, after hearing what he had to say initially, I decided to watch the full speech. I thought it was a great speech that is worthy of our attention.
    August 31, 2020 Note: The "Detroit Economic Club" link was removed (for whatever reason), so, I decided to replace it with the "President Trump's RNC Convention Speech."
    I would suggest to watch the full speech. It starts out with an introduction by Pence (which by the way would make a great vice-president), and then Trump presents his economic policies.
    Quite frankly, it was almost like hearing the financial and regulatory polices of President Ronald Reagan.
    I think the economic policies of a Donald Trump administration would help the financial health of America. Donald Trump, among other policies; would overturn Obamacare, stop any new regulatory policies, overturn many of the destructive regulatory policies of Bill Clinton and Obama, re-negotiate the NAFTA agreement, decrease taxes for businesses, and incorporate economic policies that are helpful to America. There are other good policies that he mentioned that I would suggest you to listen by yourself and make your own judgments.
    Trump, in my estimation, is a conservative. He is not the best conservative, but, he is a conservative.
    Trump plainly stated that he is against the Globalist policies of Obama, and the potential destructive Globalist policies of Hillary. Trump plainly stated that he  will only institute economic policies that are beneficial to America.
    In my estimation, Donald Trump would make a great President and be helpful to our country. It was also good to hear Trump sounding like a flag waving, America loving, conservative, down-to-the-earth, patriotic American. The speech did remind me of President Reagan and his love for America. I came away from hearing the speech and felt that Trump was sincere in speech, loved America, and has the business sense to succeed in his endeavor to help our country.

    I restore antique furniture and hand tools for a living and I will usually include a video of the restoration process at no cost to the customer.  In them, I attempt to share Scripture with them.  I don't feel that I am very good at doing this yet, but I do believe that I am getting better.  The latest video that I have put together has the most Gospel presentation yet.  Since I am still a neophyte in this, I would appreciate any feedback and critiques you may offer.

    No, Sir. I have never been in the military, nor lived in Anchorage. I've lived in several parts of the state, mostly on the Kenai, Kodiak, Talkeetna and in some remote villages. I am currently attending Immanuel Baptist Church in Kenai, pastored by Ray Boutwell. My 4th child is graduating from the christian school here, and then we will be moving to New Mexico to take over a work on the Navajo Reservation that has been without a pastor for almost 3 years. My dad pastored this church several years ago, my wife was saved in this church while we were dating 26 years ago, we were married in this church, as were two of my children, and so far all of my grown children have graduated from the school in the church. Lots of history and deep roots in this old church. It's the place we seem to always come back to when we have completed a work and are waiting for another. However, my wife and I are to the point, we are looking to put down roots and stay in New Mexico, God willing. Time to let the young people do the mobile work.

    Can you all please add Melissa L. to your prayers? She is a young woman who has overcome many challenges. She is scheduled to have a serious surgery on Thursday and it's quite scary for her. Due to her other medical conditions, she will be in the hospital for probably a month afterwards. Thank you all.

    Rosie got a reaction from 1Timothy115 in Twas The Night Before Jesus Came
    'Twas the Night Before Jesus Came

    'Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
    Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
    Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
    In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

    The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
    Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
    And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
    Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

    When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
    I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
    Away to the window I flew like a flash
    Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

    When what to my wondering eyes should appear
    But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
    With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
    I knew in a moment this must be The Day!

    The light of His face made me cover my head
    It was Jesus! Returning just like He had said.
    And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth
    I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

    In the Book of Life which He held in His Hand
    Was written the name of every saved man.
    He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
    When He said, "It's not here", My head hung in shame!

    The people whose names had been written with love
    He gathered to take to His Father above.
    With those who were ready He rose without a sound
    While all the rest were left standing around.

    I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
    I had waited too long and this sealed my fate.
    I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
    Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

    In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
    The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
    There's only one life and when comes the last call
    We'll find that the Bible was true after ALL!
