We will be traveling to Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina this summer.  We are going to be arriving in Atlanta GA on Wednesday July 6, 2022 and we would love to visit a good church of like faith that has Wednesday services.  I tried to search online for IFB KJV only churches in Atlanta, GA and came up with over 100 matches!  Yikes!  Really?!  If there are more than 10 in the entire state of Oregon (truly a mission field) I would be shocked.  Any recommendations?

What will happen with Biden is the first time he has to meet with a major foreign dignitary for an unscripted discussion or interview where answers were not fed to him well in advance, the white house will have to admit that he is not going to be able to competently function as president.  Kamala Harris will then be president.

  3. The doctrinal statement on the Bible on the Baptist World Mission Board.

    Although the Scriptures were penned under the unerring guidance of the Holy Spirit, it does not follow, that a continued miracle has been wrought to preserve them from all error in transcribing.  On the contrary, we know that manuscripts differ from each other; and where readings are various, but one of them can be correct.  A miracle was needed in the original production of the Scriptures; and, accordingly a miracle was wrought; but the preservation of the inspired word, in as much as perfection as was necessary to answer the purpose for which it was given, did not require a miracle, and accordingly it was committed to the providence of God.  Yet the providence which has preserved the divine oracles, has been special and remarkable...The consequence is, that, although the various readings found in the existing manuscripts, are numerous, we are able, in every case, or the directions of our practice in every important particular.  So little, after all, do the copies differ from each other, that these minute differences, when viewed in contrast with their general agreement, render the fact of that agreement the more impressive, and may be said to serve practically, rather to increase, than impair our confidence in their general correctness.

    This statement presents us with several amazing ideas:

        1.  While it mattered enough to God to give his words perfectly the first time, it did not concern Him that they would be immediately lost to all humanity from that day forward.

        2.  Degrees of perfection are proposed...as perfect as necessary...as perfect as the situation required...as perfect as was needed to                accomplish the purpose. Isn't it perfect or not?  Isn't that the very soul and definition of perfection?         

        3.  While they claim to believe in inerrancy and perfection of God's holy word, what they really believe is that it is "generally correct" while filled with errors of a sort that don't cloud major doctrines.  They claim "in every case" to be able to "determine the correct reading" at least in the "important particulates."

        4.  Preservation is not a continued miracle but it is "special and remarkable" and has produced an imperfect perfection..."our confidence in their general correctness."

    This from the BAPTIST World Mission Board...I pray the day does not come where I can no longer proudly proclaim I am Baptist because doing so would associate me with such as this.

  4. Exodus 31:16-17 (KJV)
    16  Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
    17  It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever:
    for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

    The sabbath was created for the nation of Israel only.  The non-jews who believe we are commanded to keep the sabbath believe so because they believe the church has replaced Israel and all the laws, ordinances and commandments given to Israel now fall upon the church since they believe God has rejected Israel.

    As a side note.  The sabbath day is NOT based upon the Roman Julian calendar. It was based on the lunar cycle starting with the full moon.  It has nothing to do with Saturday, but the sabbath could land on any day of the Julian calendar week based on the moons 28 day cycle, not a calendar with 28, 29, 30 or 31 days.  Even those today that claim the church is commanded to observe the sabbath, observe it incorrectly.

    27  And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
    28  Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

  5. You have not lived until you have melted cheddar cheese on a hot apple pie!

    I have one bottle of Ketchup in my house for one reason only, when I want to make a meat loaf.  Ketchup belongs on nothing else, ever, and certainly not a hot dog which should only have mustard and sauerkraut. 

    And for the Cheetos fan, you simply must try dipping Flaming Hot Cheetos in cream cheese!  WOW!

    This is probably just an Pacific Northwest Oregon thing, but you simply must try chocolate covered bacon.

  6. Umpqua Valley Christian School in Roseburg, OR is seeking Elementary School teachers.  Must have a Bachelors degree in Education, secular or Christian, but of course Christian is preferred. Will take new graduates just starting their career.  UVCS has been servicing Roseburg for over 40 years!  The school is fully accredited and  is Pre-school through 12th grade.  Approximately 175 - 200 students.  Please contact George Graham ggraham@uvcs.org 

  7. In the centuries past they would bury someone face down as a punishment or condemnation for deep sin, or apostasy.  Since baptism is a picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, the symbolism of being "buried in the likeness of his death" would be tarnished if buried face down or forward symbolizing sin or heresy in Jesus.  This is only a possible explanation.

  8. You seem fixated on the "distance".  My point is that even if only a few feet away I have to study a persons body shape and features to determine the gender of who is wearing those clothes then the commandment is already violated.  I can't imagine from the principles I see clearly in God's word that God would be in favor of even the concept of "unisex" clothing.

  9. Deuteronomy 22:5 (KJV)
    5  The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.

    This is beyond simple modesty.  If I have to study a person by looking at parts of them I have no business studying to determine if it is a man or a woman wearing that apparel then they have already broken this commandment.  A woman should be wearing clothing that is not only modest but CLEARLY feminine at an instant glance from far away without looking at body features to identify their gender.   The same holds true for a man and masculine clothing.  

  10. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 (KJV)
    34  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
    35  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

What a wonderful visit!  I am so glad to see another church that is sticking to the "old paths" and not jettisoning the KJV bible, not changing music standards to rock/ccm which is not Christ honoring music, and teaching a separated lifestyle based on principles found in God's word!  It was nice knowing that even though we have only met online here it was as if I was visiting close family, which in a sense I was since you all are fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.   Your turn now!  Roseburg is only 389 miles south, an easy 6 hour drive!  Love to see you guys visit us!

Umpqua Valley Christian School in Roseburg, OR also seeking teachers.  45 years established with a fabulous local reputation.  School is not tied to any particular church.   A good church home for teachers there is Victory Baptist Church, Roseburg, OR a well established IFB to the core church with a Pastor of 25 years now.   Especially seeking a 5th grade teacher, but various other opportunities are available.  Salary is dependent upon experience.

  13. After 5 years now I love my dentures.  With the proper adhesives I can eat literally anything (though biting down on hard things with front teeth does cause issues with loosening).  My dentures are entirely comfortable though it took a couple of months of adjustments until my gums and jaw became used to them.  The first 3 months were the only adjustment period where I had to even learn how to talk with my dentures in.
