I had little booklet written by John Rice about witnessing, he wrote about a time when he had approached a lady and begin to to speak with her about salvation,but the lady was rude and was asking him questions about bible stories she had heard about sex and murder and such.so he kindly ask her if she would do him one favor and let him show her some of what the bible had to say about salvation and if she would allow him this favor then he would answer all her questions she had about the bible. and she agreed to let him show her.he begin to read and show her scripture and her need of salvation and the holly spirit brought conviction upon her heart and it wasn't long before they were on their knees praying. afterwards he asked her if she would like for him to answer her questions for her and she replied to him that there was need for questions anymore that she now knew the truth. this one short story help to build my confidence when witnessing. thought I would share it.                                                                                                                             Jesus said unto him " I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me "  John 14:6

I've missed the fellowship I've so much enjoyed here with my brothers and sisters in the Lord.
it is my desire in my heart that God will grant everyone the health to continue his good works until he calls us home.

Actually "I'll fly away" brings glory to God because it shows our faith in His salvation He supplied us with and it edifies and encourages  believers. And.it has better music.

Exactly who does that worship and bring praise to?
 

Wow...until now, I haven't posted anything at all this year!  

I found out this morning that my mother has breast cancer .mom is 86 and her health has been declining for the past year and she has told her doctors that she doesn't want treatment she knows the pain and sickness that she will face but she says she's ready to go home to be with the Lord, I kindly ask that you will pray that the lord comfort her,feeling her with His wonderful peace until He calls her Home

we're to be at the hospital at 6:30 am. So I would assume probably not begin until 8/ 8:30 ish. Thanks for prayers for her!!! I'lll keep you updated.

Mind you, I'm not saying that a pastor, by keeping faithfully to the work of God, is neglecting his wife-but there are those who insist on going so over and above for the church, that the wife can feel left behind and alone, especially if they have children. However, I agree, this is no reason for a wife to leave her husband. Ideally, they should talk about it and work things out. My wife can't accuse me of it, as I put more time into her farm than I do the church-mostly because there are always things needing repairing, feeding, cleaning, etc-just the nature of a farm.
As for the second part, yes, a deacon board just might fire a pastor for the behavior of a rebellious member, even if he didn't know about it, by the excuse "You're the pastor, its your job to know!" and then fire him. Sadly, if the deacons knew, why had they not talked to the pastor about it?  No, I think little good can be done by giving a group of men an unbiblical power over the authority God has given the pastor. Trouble and confusion is sure to reign.

I love his commentary on the Gospel of John, unbelievably detailed.

In one of my old churches, despite having over 1000 people, he had no deacons, just associate pastors-I think that's a great idea in this day and age of ruling deacon boards.

Thank you Pastor Scott ,I clicked the first link and was able to download it Pdf file which I can now save the file in a folder and print it so I can study it with my open bible taking notes ,scripture reference ,meditation and prayer. Looking forward to the blessings to come.
