Babies most certainly do not go to Hell. This is false. In 2 Samuel 12:23 it says, " But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me. David was  going to see him in Heaven that is why he said, I shall go to him.  Absalom on the other hand probably did not go to Heaven that is why David mourned so much. 2Samuel 18:33 And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!
This was a much different response than with the baby that died. There was a lot less hope.
2 Samuel 18:18 Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself a pillar, which is in the king's dale: for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance: and he called the pillar after his own name: and it is called unto this day, Absalom's place.
Another person who went to his own place was Judas. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. Acts 1:25

EKSmith got a reaction from Alan in Babies Go To Hell!
Psalm 51  was written sometime after David 's sin with Bathsheba ( 2 Sam.11:3,4) the Psalm gives expression to why David was a man after God's own heart, he was not perfect, but had a sensitivity to sin, one can notice this especially of the first person singular. " mine iniquity, ''my sin, my transgressions.the first two verses are an introduction of petition ,meaning this use of four figures of forgiveness, after confessing his guilt (v 3-6) David prays for inner renewal ( v 7-12) and promises thanksgiving and ministry (v 13-17 ) this passage clearly teaches that those who have failed God may be restored to the services of God. the prayer " take not my Holly Spirit from me" here Davids cry may reflect fear, not reality, of losing the Spirit , and being rejected by God. he ask God to restore the "Joy" of this salvation, not salvation itself.

Now may we take a look at Psalm 51:5 used to identify a infant going to hell

Psalm 51:5 " Behold I was shapen in iniquity and in my sin did my mother conceive me"

The Word sin appears in verse 5 in the singular, it denotes the Sin Nature of humanity, this Sin Nature , which everyone possesses influences us to sin and is the source of lust, it negatively affects peoples mind. lets take at look at Rom 1:28

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge , God gave them over to a reprOBate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.

"God gave them up" this giving is not permissive , God lets them do what they want, and withdraws his gracious help, they are blinded not because God withdrew His light but because of the judicial acts of God He delivered them over to the natural result of their unbelief and action.( their Sin Nature )
The Sin Nature is partially responsible for blinding peoples thoughts and understanding , so they cannot perceive spiritual things .again we look to 1 Cor 2:14.,
1 Cor.2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them , because they are spiritually discerned.
Although our sin nature continues to operate within us, It was judged when  Jesus died on the cross. Amen
Rom 6:6-7 Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed , that henceforth we should not serve sin. "For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Until Jesus returns , we must live in the strength of the new man, to overcome the sinful desires arising from the the Sin Nature , we can not eradicate our Sin Nature , but we can allow the Holly Spirit to control us so that we do not give into temptation.
Now we can clearly see that Psalm 51:5 relates not only to Davids Sin Nature but to the Sin Nature of Humanity.
Now lets take a look at 2 Sam 12:13

We find here in 2 Sam 12:23 David does not refer here to the child as being in hell. but in Heaven with God'

2 Sam 12:23 But now he is dead , wherefore should I fast ? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me..(I shall go to him) David trusted God to graciously care for the soul of the dead infant , whom a believing David would join in the presence of God after his earthly life was over. again can we relate to this scripture here to infant/ child death and eternity in Hell ?
There is to much of this teaching to cover all of it so I will limit myself

Quote- as Jesus had not been born at this stage-  this was concerning Jesus in the Old Testament.

John 1: 1 -2 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God
We learn here that " In the beginning with God signifies the perfect fellowship between the Father and the Son in eternity . '' The Word was God '' emphasizes distinction in the Godhead, this phrase stresses the essential unity, The Word was with God " the Word thus emphasizing Jesus divinity.
John could not have expressed the full divinity of Jesus more completely.
Jesus is called the Word of God , this phrase occurs over a 1,000 times in the Old Testament to refer to the message of God. Jesus is the expression and communication of the Word, He is both the incarnate and the inspired Word. thus we clearly see Jesus in the Old Testament in which we may know Him as God, the Father and the Son.

Until you can prove through the scriptures of the Word of God, that infants/children at death go to hell I will rebuke such teaching, I have presented in short to you this message in hopes that you will study God's Word with understanding through the Holly Spirit which indwells in all Christians to discern the truth of Gods word. I will be praying for you my friend.

What is this?  Garbage sermon, DD.  Have you read your Bible?  Babies and young children do not go to hell.  What are you talking about?  I am very glad that I have never heard a sermon like this in my church.  Aweful!

(Here is some advice before I give my returning argument. Before you go worrying about whether babies go to hell or not when they die, you should worry about you.)
    1.      Are you saved? Did you take Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and can you remember a specific moment?
    2.      Do you feel guilty about sinning? While saved people can sin, they have the power not to sin. Lost people neither know nor care that they sin.
(If you have said “no” to either one of these, you might not be saved.)
(Anyway, your argument appears to be more of a rant than anything else, because it is not well-supported and keeps jumping subjects.)
    (Your verses:)
    51: 5
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. (True: Because we are the offspring of Adam, we too have a sin nature. This sin nature is what allows us to sin, without being taught and at an early age.)
    Psalms 24:4
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. (This verse does nothing for your argument.
(Note: Both verses you use come from the Old Testament.)
    Romans 7: 9
For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. (In this verse, Paul is saying that he was born spiritually alive, but when he sinned, he experienced a spiritual death. That is because, when a person commits one sin, they are guilty of the whole law. [James 2: 10])
    Luke 16: 22
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; (Before Jesus died for the world, no one could go to heaven. Not even Abraham went; he went to “Abraham’s Bosom [as mentioned by Jesus in a parable] because God made the promise that he would not parish.)
(You can’t hide from God in a “backward” country.) Mark 4: 22; Luke 8: 17
(God also manifests Himself to the whole world.) Romans 1: 17-20 (It is a “darkened heart” that prevents us from knowing Him.) Verse 21
(Know I am sure you know of the verse John 3: 16) For God so loved THE WORLD… (meaning that Jesus died for everyone.
And while there is NO way for me to convince you or any other person to get saved, because it is only in God to reveal Himself to you, it is through hearing the Word that people can know.)  Romans 10: 14 (Remember the “darkened heart”?
In conclusion, we are “born alive”, then “die” with our first sin. In which time, our hearts are “darkened” to God. We then, hear the Word, which makes us more open to God’s Word, so that God is able to draw us to Him. We can then either accept or reject Jesus as Lord and Savior. And God speaks to all people at some point in their life, through his people, Christian missionaries who go all over the world.
And since we are “born alive”, babies don’t go to hell.)
