  1. When I got saved I still loved sin. I felt bad about it and knew it was wrong, but honestly I still enjoyed it and desired it. God has gradually helped me grow and my desires have changed. If a person is in Christ they are a new creature. How can a person have new desires in order to become a new creature to receive new desires???
  2. To play devils advocate here I know one Ugandan language that has a Bible that is missing the comma in 1st John 5:7. Can that Ugandan use Psalm 119 as proof that the bible he holds in his hand is infallible? What about the many other language translations that are also missing 1 John 5:7? You have two options here 1. Admit that God failed to keep his promises in Psalm 119 that everyone would have a perfect translation of the scriptures 2. Re-examine what Gods promises about his word really are. Pastor Markle gave some excellent questions to think through earlier
  3. Proverbs 30:5-6 KJV [5] Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. [6] Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV [2] Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you. 2 Peter 3:16 KJV [16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the
  4. The height is 60 and the width is 60. Apparently you can neither read nor do you know numbers. Do you know how to count? How do you get 66 from 60 and 60? 60+60=120 60+60 does not equal 66.
  5. Sorry but no, He draws his conclusions from how the scriptures themselves interpret them and according to logic. Your method of interpretation of scripture is arbitrary and you do as the Gods word says "wrest the scriptures". The method of handling the scriptures you have have shown here in this thread is one in which you abuse the use of language and you make authoritative statements that the Bible itself does not make. You make numbers like 60 to somehow mean 66, and you substitute words and phrases at your own discretion and pleasure. In a sense you have set yourself up as the a
  6. Charles Ryrie in his Systematic Theology has an excellent section in Bibliology about Interpretation of the Bible. Of course he mentions the different systems such as the Allegorical, Literal and Semi Allegorical. He of course advocates for the Literal Hermaneutic, he gives a few reasons: 1. The Need for Objectivity “If one does not apply normal interpretation, then objectivity is lost to the extent that he does not use it consistently. Switching the hermeneutic base from literal to allegorical or to semi allegorical… inevitably results in different, inconsistent, and often contradi
  7. Um. No. Just no. First of all threescore is not 66 its 60. Second of all this man conpletely ignored the literal, grammatical approach to scripture, instead allegorizing and eisegeting beliefs onto the biblical text. I’m a King James guy, but not because of nonsensical reasoning like that posted by Konstantin.
  8. These are really solid questions for people to think through.
  9. Spot on. I am so glad for you pointing this out. I am still yet to see any Neo-Evangelical explain scripturally what is a fundamental and what is secondary.
  10. I think Arminianism more often can be a false Gospel, Calvinism not so much. Most of the Calvinists I know believe that salvation is through faith in the Gospel. BTW I do not accept Calvinism.
  11. I appreciate this last paragraph and have often wondered this myself, I have asked a few people who have stated the "secondary issues" talking point similar questions and I have never been satisfied with the answer, no one seems to want to explain how you define a primary and secondary doctrine. I have also struggled with trying to figure out what issues to separate over, I don't think it's reasonable to think that someone must agree 100% with me, But I also think there is more to separate over than what is considered "The Fundamentals".
  12. I am asking the Moderators to lock this thread. I really do not appreciate members of this board twisting my words and making me out to believe and say things that I clearly have not said nor do I believe.
  13. Alan stop slandering me. Alan, you are contradicting what you said earlier. Again. Where Did I say to change the KJV in Acts 12?
  14. I posted a reply to this, but I think it might be anonymous as I was not signed in when I replied. I think it's also awaiting moderator approval because of this.
