    2T3:16 got a reaction from No Nicolaitans in Do You Believe There Was Not Rain Before The Flood Of Noah?
    something different than "rain" Genesis 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
    2:6
      But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
    I don't think it rained until after the flood.

    api.viglink.com --> Ads that I forgot about, I'll remove that.
    b.scorecardresearch.com --> market research, I'll check into this because this should not be part of OB. This may be your browser that is loading that.
    what do each of these do?

    av1611.com is the program that turns verse references into links that show a pop-up window when you hover your mouse-pointer over the reference...

    Such as this --> 2 Thessalonians 3:16

    Hover the mouse-pointer over that verse reference, and the actual verse shows up in a pop-up window.

    My Pastor has two of his kids attending there, my associate Pastor has one son there, and then there is Jaron and Alyssa Canon.  So right now we have 5 of our best and brightest there. It is an excellent college and I would recommend it, BUT like any church or large organization it is not without it's faults or rough edges here and there. They are still solidly KJV only, and have very high standards of separation.  Music is the only thing that is wavering a bit, but then this is from Jaron and he has been under my Pastor for his entire life, because my Pastor has been at my church for over 20 years and is EXTREMELY strict on music.  I am not a musician, so I don't notice or hear some of the things he would reject a song over (such as jazz styling on even a single word).  With that in mind, and being a very talented musician and composer, Jaron's view on music may be much stricter than most where any kind of syncopated beat, or jazz styling may send up red flags to him that may fly right under the radar for others.

    Bro. Garry

    P.S. Jaron once told me when we were discussing their music, how he is teaching them or pointing out things in the music that they have never considered.  Some of their leaning in the wrong direction could be through simple ignorance of music.  He told me Dr. Rasmussen, who he spent 24 hours a day for 6 weeks with, while on tour with the college singing group during summer, said "i will never listen to music the same way again'.

    That's some good advice, of the kind I try to follow myself.

    There are areas in which I have found myself at odds with some IFB brethren, many of which I generally don't bring up because its not wirth the fight, nor are they issues of separation on my part, (though some see it as such), but as you say, I try to make the Bible my authority, not men, even good men, because we are all of us subject to being incorrect.  Some here probably know the issues I speak of, as I have spoken them here. Not gap theory, though. heh.

    I've heard the music...don't need to listen to the sermon.

    Both men have strengths and both have weaknesses. Kinda like all of us. :D

    What - seriously? Could you pass on your source for this statement? (Not challenging, just rather surprised. I wouldn't have thought Chappell to be guilty of such an accusation, and I'd like to know the facts.)

    Well maybe I should not be writing this because it is just my conjecture, but I will anyway.
    The one thing which makes me think the climate wa radically different after the flood than before is the rapid deteriation in the life span of man.  That is shown in the bible by the genealogies.
    Why?  Well my guess is that the loss of cloud cover and the increase in solar radiations reaching the surface would have caused changes in both animal and plant life.  I could be wrong, but hey, you asked me.
    Right or wrong it does not effect my salvation or my life one way or the other except maybe some will call me a nut.  But then in some peoples eyes I am a nut for reading the bible in the first place.

    So anyway, for there to be a loss of cloud cover there had to be a lot more cloud cover before the flood.  Also one of the reasons that some poo poo the Noah flood is because today there is not enough water vapor in the firmament to flood the earth to the extent that is described in the biblical account.  I know during the flood there was also water released from underground aquifers also during the flood but that is not part of the question.

    God bless,
    Larry

    I walked down the driveway to the house. A gentleman was outside. I greeted him and offered him the tract. He said "get off my property or I will call the police" , I said "yes sir" then to my back as I was leaving he yelled at me "I said get off my property or I will call the police" (he might have said "I'm calling the police"), ..... since I was already walking ... I stopped, turned around, said, "yes sir" ... and turned back around while he was yelling "I'm calling the police" and calmly walked off his property. What was my legal responsibility? Anybody suggest how to handle a situation like that?
    Thanks.

    Brother, I can find just about anything I want and I know how to find stuff I don't want, but "He Is Mine" has eluded me ... Edit: Amen! Thanks for the encouragement I found it! Here is the link to an mp3 of the song: http://www.oldchristianmusic.com/music/north-valley-baptist-church--singing-church-I/North%20Valley%20Baptist%20Church--He%20Is%20Mine--The%20Singing%20Church%20I.mp3

    and the lyrics:
    Long before the fall of man, God designed a master plan,
    He has changed the sinner for the sinless one;
    Jesus left his throne on high, came to earth to bleed and die,
    He said, "Father, not my will but thine be done."

    He is mine, He is mine.
    I am blessed beyond all measure He is mine;
    I have pardon full and free through the blood he shed for me,
    Saved forever I shall be, He is mine.

    Through God's mercy and his grace he prepares for us a place,
    And words cannot describe the matchless beauty there;
    We will praise this perfect Lamb, King of kings, the great I Am,
    And he has made the joys of Heaven ours to share.

    He is mine, He is mine.
    I am blessed beyond all measure He is mine;
    I have pardon full and free through the blood he shed for me,
    Saved forever I shall be, He is mine.

    I have pardon full and free through the blood he shed for me,
    Saved forever I shall be, He is mine.
