  1. Nah 1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

  2. Not to argue the point but this appeared in the Philadelphia Baptist Association minutes of 1771: 5. To. a query from Dividing Creek, relative to washing the saints' feet, the following reply was made This query being founded on John 13:1-17, can no otherwise be determined than by fixing the genuine sense of that Scripture, which to do is earnestly recommended.
  3. I don't mean to bring up an old topic, but I have read with interest the varying views among the brothers and sisters in the IFB about footwashing. As an Old Regular Baptist we practice this at the same time as communion. We view the word ought as used in John 13:14 as a very strong word that we should continue the practice of footwashing and we are truly happy when we do this. Yes I believe that it is a symbol of humility and service. You can read about how we conduct the communion and footwashing service at my webpage.
  4. (Heb 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  5. A hearty Amen! I am not IFB but I have many of the same beliefs as you. There is a reason the bible says: We are to be different from the world!!!
  6. I have one........I call it an electronic leash.
  7. Pro 11:18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

  8. (Jas 1:12) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

  9. I'm thankful that God gave me the stength to be out and about His business this morning, Declaring his word.
  10. Thanks eveyone I'll keep you updated.
  11. My future son-in-law is a very sick young man. He has ulcerative colitis and is in the hospital. Nate is a fine young man with a beautiful testimony. Please pray for him.
  12. (1Pe 2:17) Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

So much could be solved if we just followed this verse.

  13. I agree Jerry. Not to be critical of anyone. But, I asked a pastor (who had church hopped to get higher compensation) when did compensation become filthy lucre? He didn't give me an answer and hasn't spoken to me since. I figured out the answer by his actions.
  14. Sin is sin no matter what it is called. And we should rebuke it in high places.
  15. In this day and time very few Baptist practice feet washing as in John 13. Tell me how you see these verses: (Joh 13:14)If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. (Joh 13:15)For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. If you are interested in Old Regular Baptist practice on this visit my webpage for a description.
  16. You know what? Disagreement is fine. One thing is for sure. When we go home to glory we will know as we are known and we will know what heaven will be like.
  17. Jerry I have to disagree with you. I do not believe these scriptures refer to losing rewards in heaven but to losing joy of your salvation while here on earth by being disobedient. I have always been of the opinion that different rewards in heaven would imply that God shows respect in person. and the scriptures says in Colossians 3:25:
  18. I believe that reward will be a glorified body likened unto his most glorious body so that we can give him glory as he deserves. 1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. I am so looking forward to the day I lay aside this weather beaten form and get a glorified body likened unto His most glorious body. That will be my reward.
  19. The problem with these so called churches is that they act so much like the world they have become worldly. It is like Paul wrote to Timothy: (2Ti 3:4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (2Ti 3:5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2Ti 3:6) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, (2Ti 3:7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. I believe these silly women are those worldly "churches". Brothern we must do as it is written In Jude .....earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Let's stand firm in the faith.
  20. Yes I was. I was am EM on a carrier!
  21. I realize that I am new here and I respect what I have read on this forum. Sometimes I have been accused of being too harsh when I defend the orthodox priniples of the faith. I firmly believe that if God has called us that we should stand firm on what says the word of God no matter what. What say you and how firm are you in defending Baptist doctrine?
