  1. Paul asked God repeatedly to remove the thorn in the flesh.  God told him in so many words to quit asking.

    2 Cor 12:7-10
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
    KJV

    Rom 8:18-28
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
    KJV

  2. The American people are so easily fooled by the rich.  Donald Trump got rich and successful by his cunning, not his wisdom.  When I contemplate his tough talk on foreign policy and his bellicosity and his lack of wisdom I fear his finger on the nuclear button.

I think the only candidate running in either party that would not go to war with Russia (on purpose or by accident) is Bernie Sanders.  Do I think Bernie Sanders would be good for America? NO WAY!  I find myself in the same position I was in at the last election.  Ain't none of them fools gonna' buy my vote.

  3. “To those who had easily endured toils, dangers, and doubtful and difficult circumstances, ease and wealth, the objects of desire to others, became a burden and a trouble. At first the love of money, and then that of power, began to prevail, and these became, as it were, the sources of every evil. For avarice subverted honesty, integrity, and other honorable principles, and, in their stead, inculcated pride, inhumanity, contempt of religion, and general venality. Ambition prompted many to become deceitful; to keep one thing concealed in the breast, and another ready on the tongue; to estimate friendships and enmities, not by their worth, but according to interest; and to carry rather a specious countenance than an honest heart. These vices at first advanced but slowly, and were sometimes restrained by correction; but afterwards, when their infection had spread like a pestilence, the state was entirely changed, and the government, from being the most equitable and praiseworthy, became rapacious and insupportable.”

Sounds a lot like a historian describing the crumbling of today's biggest and most powerful empire, the United States.  Actually it is not but it is the Roman historian and government insider Sallust blasting the decline of virtue in government of the Roman Empire of Julius Caesar.

Time is running out for another wicked nation that forgot their first love.

  4. Pres. Obama has told the BBC that it is Important that Britain stays in Europe so we have a voice in the world.

What does he know.  Europe ignores our views.  If we don't have a voice in Europe how can we have a voice in the world.  Europe frequently overules our laws and our judgments.

If Obama thinks the EU is that good, why doesn't he try to get the USA to Join the EU?  I can imagine what reception that would get.

Since the the Third Reich under the Germans was a failure maybe the Fourth Reich under the Germans will be a success.  What could go wrong?

  5. Paul Craig Roberts and John W. Whitehead of The Rutherford Institute offer their opinions on the character of the citizens of the United States. I am afraid I must concur . . . . what is your opinion? http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2015/07/23/eroding-character-american-people-paul-craig-roberts/

  6. America does not need any foreign power invading it to assure America's destruction.  America's destruction is being assured by it's own citizens. . . . the few who control the government and the many who vote for the leaders the powerful recommend to the voters. The few who run things are not Americans at heart they are citizens of the world. They have many places they will run to when the nation falls.

They are such arrogant fools.  They forget that God said in so many words "You can run but you can't hide."                                                                                                         Job 34:21-22  "For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.  There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves."  KJV

  7. THE NIGHT WATCHMAN

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert.
Congress said, “Someone may steal from it at night.”
So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job.
Then Congress said, “How does the watchman do his job without instruction?”
So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies.
Then Congress said, “How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?”
So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports.
Then Congress said, “How are these people going to get paid?”
So they created two positions: a time keeper and a payroll officer then hired two people.
Then Congress said, “Who will be accountable for all of these people?”
So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary.
Then Congress said, “We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back.”
So they laid-off the night watchman.

NOW slowly, let it sink in.
Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter administration?
    Anybody?

    No?
    Didn’t think so!
Bottom line is, we’ve spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency, the reason for which very few people who read this can remember!
    Ready?
It was very simple… and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate.

The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/04/1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL.

AND NOW IT’S 2015 — 38 YEARS LATER — AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS “NECESSARY” DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE!

38 years ago 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports. Today 70% of our oil consumption is foreign imports.

NOW, WE HAVE TURNED OVER THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?
    Hello!! Anybody Home?

  8. The heaviest element known to science was recently discovered by
physicists. The element, tentatively named Administratium, has no
protons or electrons and thus has an atomic number of 0.
    However it does have:

               1 neutron.
             125 assistant neutrons
              75 vice-neutrons
             111 assistant vice-neutrons

This gives it an atomic mass of 312. The 312 particles are held
together  by a force that involves the continuous exchange of
    meson-like particles called morons.

Since it has no electrons, Administratium is inert. However, it
can be detected chemically as it impedes every action with which
it comes in contact. According to the discoverers, a minute amount
of Administratium causes one reaction to take four days to complete
when it would have normally occurred in less than one second.

Administratium has a normal half-life of approximately three years,
at which time it does not actually decay but instead undergoes a
reorganization in which assistant neutrons, vice neutrons, and
assistant vice-neutrons exchange places. Some studies have shown
that atomic mass actually increases after each reorganization.
Research at other laboratories indicates that Administratium occurs
naturally in the atmosphere. It tends to concentrate at certain points
such as government agencies, large corporations, and universities,
and can usually be found in the newest, best appointed, and best
    maintained buildings.

Scientists point out that Administratium is known to be toxic at any
level of concentration and can easily destroy any productive reaction
where it is allowed to accumulate. Attempts are being made to determine
how Administratium can be controlled to prevent irreversible damage,
but results to date are not promising.

  9.  R.L. Dabney on Northern conservatives in 1870:

"And last: the State has committed the crowning outrage and inconsistency of not letting her be a man because God made her a woman! What an outrage this to be committed on so frivolous a pretext!
    ...
Has not the Radical version of the political gospel said, "All men are by nature mechanically equal?" And "man", Mistress Amazona ( as you will know when you acquire the virile right of learning Latin ) here means, not vir, but homo; the species irrespective of sex. It means that a woman has a natural right to do all the particular things that a man does ( if she can ), to sit on juries and shave her beard, to serve in the army and ride astraddle, to preach sermons and sing bass.
    ...
    He cannot consistently oppose it; he has himself naturalized the false principles from which that 'reform' will flow. The true principles from which its folly might have been evinced, the principles held by us "Rebels", he has trampled down with the armed heel, and drowned in blood and buried under mountains of obloquoy and odium and slander. He cannot resort to those sound premisses. To meet the argument of these aspiring Amazons fairly, one must teach , with Moses, the Apostle Paul, John Hampden, Washington, George Mason, John C. Calhoun and all that contemptible rabble of 'old fogies', that political society is composed of "superiors, inferiors and equals"; that while all these bear an equitable moral relation to each other, they have very different natural rights and duties; that just government is not founded on the consent of the individuals governed, but on the ordinance of God, and hence a share in the ruling franchise is not a natural right at all, but a privilege to be bestowed according to a wise discretion on a limited class having qualification to use it for the good of the whole; that the integers out of which the State is constituted are not individuals, but families represented in their parental heads; that every human being is born under authority ( parental and civic ) instead of being born "free" in the licentious sense that liberty is each one's privilege of doing what he chooses;
    ...
It may be inferred again that the present movement for women's rights will certainly prevail from the history of its only opponent, Northern conservatism. This is a party which never conserves anything. It's history has been that it demurs to each aggression of the progressive party, and aims to save it's credit by a respectable amount of growling, but always acquiesces at last in the innovation. What was the resisted novelty of yesterday is today one of the accepted principles of conservatism; it is now conservative only in affecting to resist the next innovation, which will tomorrow be forced upon it's timidity, and will be succeeded by some third revolution, to be denounced and then adopted in it's turn. American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near it's leader."

Robert Lewis Dabney was an American Christian theologian, Southern Presbyterian pastor, Confederate States Army chaplain, and architect. He was also chief of staff and biographer to Stonewall Jackson. His biography of Jackson remains in print today.
