I just watched this last night. It was a very good movie about an apalachian circuit preacher named Robert Sheffey. I loved this movie and feel it has something for everyone. This is an older movie that was made by Bob Jones university. I believe it was based on a book titled "A saint in the wilderness" or it might have been "Saints in the wilderness".
I found one of these replicas at walmart for $4.97. It is a small hard back bible but the cover is very nice for the price.
I bought it just so i could look at it and admire what one of the originals must have been like. One thing I noticed as I looked at this book was the detail.
It was all had written in ornate claigraphy. I know my "copy" is massed produced, but it struck me what a labor of love that very first KJV bible must have been.
If you dont have one of these I urge you to get one or at the very least find one to look at. It will speak to you without even having to read a word.
I can't convey to you the awe that this little book inspired in me today. How anyone could doubt the validity of this book I will never understand.
