  1.

I guess I would make a lousy Jew since the "hare" was unclean...

    Leviticus 11:6 (KJV)
6  And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

    Bro. Garry

If I had hare and it was unclean I used Suave or Pert Plus. Any kind of shampoo does pretty well for this. I don't know what they used back in Bible times.

    Smile today!!!  God loves you!!!

  2. Let's not turn this personal....adults.  Nor, as I said earlier, into a tithing thread.  This has been a lighthearted thread so far - even with some seriousness.  Let's not create an argument just because we can.

    Nothing Personal

Thread asked for pet peeves and this is just where I am at right now.

Few church members forced a resignation from our pastor 2 weeks ago.

That is the people I was talking about.

  3. Ouch.

Post #44 is not directed to anyone here. I don't know where you sit, how often you attend, how much you eat, or how often you bash your preacher. I don't know any of these things about anyone on this forum.

    Sounds like someone's under conviction.

It is very undermining to the things that I try to do for the Lord, for others to do nothing and have the loudest voice. That's all I'm saying.

In churches there are a lot of "christians" that come to the benificial things that the church offers and are never seen at any other times.

They never come on a Wednesday night because they just can't make it, but when we have a business meeting on Wed. night they are some of the first ones there.

I do pay tithes. I didn't for a while (and there is not a Bible verse you can show me that I haven't already used to confirm this thought process), but I found that it prevented me from having freedom in Christ! In other words, what right do I have to ask for more money to be added into certain places like missionaries, youth events, homeless ministry, etc if I am not putting money in.

It convicted me to give what was asked of me by the man that God chose to stand in our pulit.

Ephesians 6:5-8 Was my basis for this.

Christians in the world today need to get back to the basics. Everything that you do should be out of love and service to Christ. Where are the servants at these days. Where's the love man!!!!!

  4. Pet peeve

People who don't pay into something and thinking that they should have more say about it than anyone else.

ie..back pew, once a month attendance, no tithe paying, every business meeting voting, free casserole eating, preacher bashing, church attendees.

  5. the prOBlem in using the law is this.  You show them the law to worship God and him alone or any of the other laws and convince them they have not Kept them.  they agree get saved and then believe they must keep those laws there after and that is not the truth.

Get them Saved, teach them and be an example of how to live by faith in Christ for the word says, Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:  Ye were saved by grace through Faith alone and you must learn to live by grace through faith alone.  You must teach through example how to stand strong in the Grace of God and how to produce fruit of that in their lives and teach them how to commit that standing strong in the Grace to others as well. 2Tim 2:1&2 ¶ Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.   And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

The prOBlem is many teachers/preachers are not teaching the Word as much as they are teaching their interpretation of it and all the worldliness that goes with it.  Prosperity theology, Replacement theology, Preterest theology even Pre-trib/pre-mellennial theology can usurp Gods word which is to edify the Body of Christ and glorify God.

Theology and those major doctrines are good but far better is teaching them how to live a new life in Christ Jesus as an anointed Son of God called to be adopted, forgiven, sanctified, holy and righteous in this world.  the Law does none of that but the Spirit filled life does.

I agree. I deleted some of your quote just for sake of length . I don't agree with how Ray Comfort does his. It's like he leaves off the main part....faith. No one will ever truly repent without Jesus Christ FIRST. You cannot do it without him. I do believe you have to repent but my definition of repent is simply "a change of mind" or "to turn from one way of thinking to another". God repented although He never sinned. Jonah 3:10

I am curious as to what you use as an ice breaker or even the prelude to your witnessing methods. I guess what I'm asking is how do you personally get someone to understand that they are in need of a Savior?

No arguements, just really open to a new approach of presenting the gospel if it's effective.

  6. No one in the history of mankind has ever been saved without realizing they are lost first. Using the 10 commandments to convince a person they're lost is no different than asking them where will they go when they die, or preaching hell fire and eternity. By the way, if you use Romans road at all when you're witnessing then you are using the 10 commandments you're just not being specific (All have sinned...how do you know that? There's a standard that all have missed. ie. 10 commandments)

I have found that the "pray this prayer" method creates shallow christians at times that after the newness wears off they disappear from the church and never show any fruit of being saved. Were they actually saved....only they know.

We as fundamental baptist christians need to get away from the mindset that we just lead them to Christ and that's it. Knock on doors, get them saved, and leave them to not be seen or heard from again. With salvation comes a great responsibility to teach them as well.

    Matthew 28:20, Acts 1:1, Acts 15:35, Acts 18:11, Acts 28:30-31, Colossians 1:28, Colossians 3:16

PLEASE understand that I am not suggesting any kind of works salvation, I would just like to see saved individuals become firm in their faith, being well learned in correct doctrine so that body of Christ will grow and be strong.

  7. That was quick-I think we could have easily disproved him, maybe even converted him.

I witnessed to him in personal messages on this site. Was going well until he changed the subject. Pray that that little bit convicts enough to bring salvation to him.

  8. Sad really. The trinity is conplex but not all that hard to understand. Three equal influences acting with one accord never conflicting one another.

If people can seperate Jesus from God then our God is the same as theirs and they have nothing to fear.......BUT......praise God!!........people have no say in the matter. He is risen and alive forevermore. The ONLY ONE to ever have that power makes my salvation and my God THE TRUE and ONLY one.

    Happy Easter!!!!!

  9. Post any scripture, why you believe, Jesus the man, is God.
And why you believe, that scripture means to you that
    Jesus the man is God.

    John 1:1

    John 1:14

The Word was God and He was made flesh to dwell among us. Jesus Christ

    Genesis 1:1

    John 1:3

    Too easy

  10. He was still a man though. "The MAN Christ Jesus".

I believe that whole heartedly. My point was that Jesus did not have a natural earthly father. He's not the (son of a man) but rather God was His Father. Having the pure and holy blood, able to be sacrificed once and for all. Hebrews 10:9-19
