A godly husband needs to fulfil his God ordained position as the head of his wife.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

I think many husbands neglect or ignore their position as head and the woman ends up taking over because someone has to do it, of course this is opposing God's will, it is the way of the world.

When a Christian husband steps up and takes leadership like he should then it pleases his wife, for she is wanting him to do it, wanting him to 'play the man' and 'wear the pants' in their home. Satan doesn't want this, that's why he's so busy trying to reverse the roles in the home in these last days, he's quite successful at it too!

Over the next few days, I intend to specifically engage the various contributions that have been made thus far.  However, with very little time before church tonight, I wish to present one additional truth on this very blessed day of my 20th anniversary.

Proverbs 18:22, "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD."

From the principle of this verse, I conclude that the husband must ever appreciate his wife as a good gift and precious treasure of the Lord's gracious favor.

As for me, I thank the Lord for HIs gracious favor in granting me the precious treasure of my dearly beloved wife, Kerry, for these past twenty years.

When I study the Bible I always like to start at the beginning, if possible.

Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

From this passage I learn the following:

    1. The godly husband should not seek to be alone and separated from his wife.
    2. The godly husband should allow his wife to help him.

You're acting for a good cause brother, but going about it the wrong way. Rebellion will only get you into trouble, and what's the benefit of putting it on You Tube, to entertain people??

By all means stand up for what you think is wrong, but do it lawfully and please God while you're at it.

It's good that you hate this sin so much, but it's not your responsibility to remedy it, it's God's. We need to trust that God knows what He's doing in the overall scheme of things, He certainly hasn't given instructions to the body of Christ to try and reform this world and the evil in it, God will do that soon enough when He returns. In the meanwhile we need to be about our Father's business, and that is leading souls to Christ and living righteously and in obedience to the word of God, which includes being in subjection to the powers that be which are ordained of God (Romans 13:1).

No amount of Christian lobbying and civil disobedience will stop the wickedness that continues throughout this ungodly world, but by prayer and witnessing the gospel we might be able to help rescue a few from it.

Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Can we agree that the Church is the body of Christ, and that that body is made up of every Christian ever saved since Jesus died on the cross?

Can we see the entire body of Christ? No, of course not! We may see some members of it in our local churches, but even then we don't know for sure who is saved and who isn't. In that sense the body of Christ is "invisible" to us, but God sees it!

A local church is a physical manifestation of part of the body of Christ, and there are many manifestations throughout the world. There are also members of the body of Christ in Heaven with the Lord, these ones are not manifested physically down here. Therefore we (not the scripture) say that the Church, which is the body of Christ, is "invisible" and "universal". We are talking about the entire Church here, not just an individual local church.

To me, this understanding of the Church is quite elementary.

Hello. Have been reading alot of articles and sermons and doctrine on this website since I joined and finally had some time to say hello. My family and I have been IFB Baptist for the last two years. We had been in another church for a number of years dwindling and not growing in our faith. The Lord led us to wonderful IFB church that emphasizes God's word via the KJB. Additionally, here, my wife and two of my children have been saved! Glory to God. I grew up in a pentecostal church and was saved there, baptized in both the Trinity and Jesus' name only. As a young teen and young adult I mostly went to a Nazarene church. The way I was taught though was that after backsliding, you had to go and be saved again or rededicate yourself to God. In my former mind, I must have been saved 5 or 6 times throughout my life. I never knew about eternal security until the Lord led me to our IFB church. What peace of mind there is in Eternal Security. Not that one has a license to sin but you can know for sure you are still saved even after sinning and that cannot be taken away. I was re-baptized at our new IFB church as evidence to the membership that I was saved and trusted in my saviour Jesus Christ. Now we just have my oldest two sons who need to be saved. I pray for them daily to be saved but feel guilt for having groomed them in a mostly secular church that did not even stress needing to be saved and often times there was not even an alter call or invitation. They are 21 and 24 and we invite them and take them to our new church as often as their schedule allows. So I pray their salvation as does the rest of my saved family. Thanks for reading this and having such a wonderful forum and website such as this.

    God Bless,

    Bro Jebarr

I am going to take the Bible for what it says. Eternal life, everlasting life, never leave me nor forsake me.

I use this illustration and it has become even more real to me because of my own son.

When we have a child born to us is there anything that can make that child no longer our child.

I have a son who has gone as far away from what he has been taught is right you can say he has done a 180 degree turn from the way he was brought up. He even got to the point he had to be told, "Do not return until you get right."

Is he no longer my son? If he denies me as his father is he no longer my son? If he changes his name, is he no longer my son? If he suffers from so unknown disease, has reaction to some drug, illicit or not, and his brain or reasoning somehow malfunctions, is he no longer my son?

What does that have to do with eternal security? Because that is what it is, eternal security. Once I have become a child of God, I am a child of God. No one, not me, you or anyone else can change that. My son will always be my son and I will be his dad.
