In no way is it clear that they were not Christians. Just the opposite, it is quite clear that they were Christians. In the case of Ananias and Sapphira, go back to Acts 4:31 and read all of this in context. Continue to read in chapter 5. They were part of the church. They were Christians. In relation to Simon, it is even more clear that he was a Christian. Begin in Acts 8:12. Notice that Simon did exactly what the others did. It says they believed and were baptized. It says that he believed and was baptized. Clearly if he was not truly saved then none of the others were either.

I have read Romans 6 countless times. It does not say what you are attempting to make it say.

If you desire to ignore clear examples in order to justify your own view, then I see no reason to continue our conversation on this subject. As I have stated on previous discussions, I see no reason to argue just to be argueing.

Simple way to try the spirits is to study the Bible and compare what others are teaching to what the Bible is teaching. If they are the same, then great if not they are false and a Christian needs to avoid them.

Sadly that is one of the biggest problems in tryint to reach people; they just don't recognize their spiritual condition. They may be very nice people who would do anything for anyone and would never think of hurting others. They may even be "religious" but have not been saved. At times all you can do is pray for them.

No, Jesus did not go to "Hell" as far as the eternal place of torment. Jesus went to Hadies (the unseen world) where there is Paradice and Tartorus (pardon the spelling). Jesus told the thief that he would be with him that day in paradise. That is where Jesus went. By the way, this is not heaven for Jesus told Mary not to touch him since he had not been back to the father at that time.

Though I like and use the KJV, it indescrimanently uses the word "Hell."

Paul instructed the women to remain silent in services (1 Tim 2). This passages has been missused by some who think this means that she can not even open her mouth. This would be hard to do since she is also instructed to sing during the services (Eph 5:19; Col 3:16). By the way, when singing we are also teaching (Col 3:16). Paul was speaking about being in authority over the man which is not allowed. Can a woman preach before the congregation? NO. Can she serve in a leader ship position? NO (1 Tim 3:1ff, 1 Tim 2). As to the specific issues which were raised, some clarification is needed as to what is being done.

I agree with you completely in that it is wrong for Christians (or anyone) to make up his or her mind in contradiction to God. Certainly we have free will to do so, but it (choosing to ignore God's word) is sinful and therefore does have a great cost.

    And what would that be?

By the way, are you saying that when Peter said, "But this is that which was poken by the prophet Joel;....." (Acts 2:16ff), he really didn't mean it; he was just being "poetic?"

No. They used Christians with their clothes soaked in pitch during the great tribulation.

Rick, your "jokes" make no contribution to a serious discussion - especially as you totally reject the "time indicators" in Revelation that require an interpretation before AD 70.
    e.g.
Rev 1:1 ¶ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:
    ....
3 Blessed [is] he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [is] at hand.
    ....
9 ¶ I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, ....

Rev 11:1 ¶ And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
    ...

I have been reading your post and I must say that you are really not a nice person. I see others who disagree with this coc333 and yet do not act with such vileness as you do. I suggest that you might want to examine yourself rather than worrying about this coc333.
