  1. Just saw this thread.

    Pastor Jim Nicholson
    Living Word Baptist Church
    Albuquerque New Mexico
    In one of what they call the war zones here.
    And of all places we are on a road called Coors.
    How do you say it, "Just Google us"

    By-vocational for now, am an assassin on the side (pest control, you a bug man)

  2. I know some people like to write out their sermons word for word. It is said the Johnathan Edwards, read his great sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" word for word by lamp/candle light and never looked at the audience.

    I seem to find it easier to preach from an outline rather than a written out sermon. Which do you use and what do you think the advantages are?

    Do you preach other men's sermons but adapt them to you and the time?

  3. The Governor here in NM has closed all the schools, most of the state government buildings, and asked all to turn down our thermostats to 65 degrees, our gas company hs turn off the gas to about 32,000 customers. Seems that there was a electrical power problem in Texas and that where we get our natural gas from.

  4. I kinda understood it to be a twist on this old song. I know I heard it for years too; I speak of stars as in, Da 12:3 "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." And it is a referring to the Soul Winners Crown at the Judgment Seat of Christ,

    The Crown of "REJOICING."

    This is the "Soul Winner's" crown. Those brought to Jesus by us will be our "crown of rejoicing" at His Coming. 1Th 2:19-20. Php 4:1.

    Will There Be Any Stars
    1. I am thinking today of that beautiful land

    I shall reach when the sun goeth down;

    When thro' wonderful grace by my Saviour I stand,

    Will there be any stars in my crown?
    (Refrain)

    2. In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray,

    Let me watch as a winner of souls,

    That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,

    When His praise like the sea billow rolls.
    (Refrain)

    3. Oh, what joy it will be when His face I behold,

    Living gems at His feet to lay down;

    It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,

    Should there be any stars in my crown.

    REFRAIN:

    Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown

    When at evening the sun goeth down?

    When I wake with the blest

    In the mansions of rest,

    Will there be any stars in my crown?

  5. I'm working on a cup of tea myself, waiting for the Feb. contest to kick back in so I can get me one of those OB cups. I'm already in first place (humbly). Besides I needed one more post to post more than Bro. Matt.

  6. Remember McDonalds used to advertise hamburger, fries and a drink and still get change from a dollar. Maybe I'm older than I think, I pumped gas for $.18 a gallon. I remember I think when they had the cent sign (it was under the @ sign) on the type-writer, and they weren't electric.

  7. Oh there is going to be a global warming alright,

    2Pe 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

    2Pe 3:12 "Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?"

  8. This is a snapshot of the future Rep. party. Our country is in need of a revival of Godliness instead we are seeing it go further away, and daddy is a "good" Christian man. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, more often than not it reflects that they have been raised in and around.

    Isn't it amazing and I wonder if we notice that the children in a family usually follow the mother and her beliefs, especially when it come to following God and the worship thereof.

    Look at the many kings of Israel.

  9. If only those who read, promote and preach from MVs would actually look into these matters, but the sad fact is the vast majority won't because it's so much easier to follow the crowd.

    Those who are anti-KJB and pro-multiple MVs are quick to spew forth falsehoods they've heard regarding the KJB, but which they've never investigated themselves, and are so sure their MVs are better that they not only will they not look into the matter, they are very quick to ignore information such as presented above lest their bubble be burst.

    KJB = :bible:

    Amen, it is one thing to follow Christ as one of His flock by believing the KJB, it is another to follow man blindly as a sheep being lead to slaughter.

    Mt 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

    Mr 13:6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
  10. How many churches have Wed. night corporate prayer meeting instead of Bible study. And I don't mean a 30 min prayer time before the Wed. night service, I mean a whole church wide prayer meeting that is over when the Holy Spirit is done. There was a time when the church came together to pray, which has fallen away to bible study, youth meetings, missionary societies, etc, etc. Meet, Greet, Eat, and Beat it.
