  1. David, "danced unto the LORD" and was not in a hugging contest to music as most dancing seem to exhibit, and so worst than that. Personally even if a husband and wife are going to do it, it belongs in an intimate setting as it should be between them.
  2. Time and again in the OT the age that men were called to service, war, service in the temple, etc, was twenty years of age, would that be considered the "age of accountability?
  3. 12 Steps to Raise A Juvenile Delinquent 1 Begin with infancy to give the child everything he wants. In this way he will grow up to believe the world owes him a living. 2 When he picks up bad words, laugh at him. This will make him think he’s cute. 3 Never give him any spiritual training. Wait until he is twenty-one and then let "him decide for himself". 4 Avoid the use of "wrong". He may develop a guilt complex. This will condition him to believe later, when he is arrested, that society is against him and he is being persecuted. 5 Pick up everything he leaves lying around. Do everything for him so that he will be experienced in throwing all responsibility on others. 6 Take his part against neighbors, teachers, and policemen. They are all prejudiced against your child. 7 Quarrel frequently in the presence of your children. In this way they won’t be so shocked when the home is broken up later. 8 Give the child all the spending money he wants. Never let him earn his own. 9 Satisfy his every craving for food, drink, and comfort. See that his every sensual desire is gratified. 10 Let him read any printed material, and listen to any music he can get his hands on. Be careful that the silverware and drinking glasses are sterilized, but let his mind feast on garbage. 11 When he gets into real trouble, apologize to yourself by saying, "I could never do anything with him." 12 Prepare for a life of grief. You will likely have it. Taken from a pamphlet entitled Twelve Rules for Raising Delinquent Children distributed by the Houston Police Department. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Proverbs 29:15 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Colossians 3:20
  4. In my opinion this thing called CCM is not of God, I was a rock-n-roller before I got saved. As I listen to some of this stuff I have a hard time telling the difference between today's secular music and CCM. Some of it is even designed to "cross over" into worldly music. If you follow the "career" of some of these "CCM' entertainers they are far from a Christian witness. One question to ask is, "does it appeal to the flesh or the spirit?" Paul said try the spirits whether they be of God. Google some of these bands. Check out this article and some of the other info there: http://www.biblebeli....com/Rock1.html I don't believe everything written today is "CCM".
  5. Good poem & prayer. Thank God for the Holy Spirit.
  6. These people are trying to French, trick. If we shut down the government then we get our way. Ain't it time they understood they work for the citizens, and what do the create/produce other than the need for higher taxes.
  7. We have forgotten that all that happens to us in God's will. If we put ourselves in the right places doing the right things then God's will may be well for us. if we put ourselves in the wrong places then God's will, may not be well for us. Ro 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
  8. God created man, Col. Colt made them equal, but only Jesus Christ can get you into Heaven.
  9. We had our bank "My Bank", (and that it is lot of fun, with a bank named "My Bank") call us one time to verify an attempt to by a money oder with our debit card #. We are in NM, they were trying to buy it in Missouri. Again canceled the card and got a new one.
  10. A great history of the Baptist church/denomination it the little booklet called "The Trail of Blood", which basically says that we who are know today as Baptist came from those know as anaBaptist (rebaptizers). On another note, yes they the "Protestant churches" (they protested against the RCC) are harlot branches of the great whore RCC, I don't believe we can say that if someone is a member of one of them that they are not saved. They may not be right with God, the problem is they are in the wrong place. I have lead those of other denominations to the saving knowledge of Christ, and have tried to get hem to leave and come to a Baptist church. I like what i heard a preacher say this weekend, "Salvation is free, Christian is earned"
  11. This has turned a little bit from essentials to the Baptist flag. When asked I showed it. Why do we use it, a several of reasons are, 1) It stands for our beliefs and basic doctrines which are contrary to that of the majority of "Christian" churches/denominations. 2)It sets us apart from the ecumenical movement. 3) Have you ever tried to fly a Bible from a flag pole? I do wave it in the pulpit the King James Bible. As to MV's, one of the reasons, other than it attacks on the deity of Christ, salvation by grace, etc.(whole other topic for a whole other thread) we don't use or condone the NIV, I=International.
  12. I didn't think that I might say something like this but, no he should not step down, if he did he would being going against the government that the nation is built on. We are a Republic, not a democracy. If he was to step down because it seems to be the popular thing to do then where does it stop? Our rule of government are set up to protect us as a country. I realize that we have "representatives' that have taken us in the wrong direction and we have allow them to pass laws that are not always for our good. Can you imagine what it would be like if everything in America was run on what was popular at the time. Let's start having the preacher preach what is most popular with the congregation on Sunday morning and not what God has put on his heart for us. I 'm talking about churches we go to, not the worldly emergent bunch that does that already. What a picture of where we would be if we allowed our country to be run by popular opinion. And 9/10 of the time it isn't the laws that get us, it is the regulations attached after the law is passed. We must speak up but remember 1000 emails = 100 snail mails = 10 phone calls = 1 personal visit.
  13. Home from 2 days of Prayer School, Dr. Tom Williams, wow, great stuff. Of all the things I learned and there was a lot to learned about prayer, the one thing that stuck me the most was that we Must NOT Stop Praying.

  14. This is interesting, going to Prayer School tonight.

    1. Brother Rick

      Brother Rick

I don't need to be taught HOW to pray - I need to be taught TO pray.

  15. I don't know how many people have seen what is going on in Wis. There is a stink going on between the unions and the Gov. over pay and there being money to pay them. Some of it has to do with collective bargaining, (of which they could not accomplish even before the Rep. Gov. got voted into office.). Anyhow I saw this sign at the protest and wonder what will we sell our beliefs for,: Born Again Prolife Fundamental Baptist Turned Democrat Thanks to Steve Walker Steve Walker is the new Gov. of Wis.
  16. I have one thing to say to anyone that wants to put their hands on my daughter that way. "Mossberg" Oops, and I mean it with love.
  17. Isn't that the way of the world, our Faith is to be more important than anything the world has to offer.
  18. The Bible says: Eph 5:11" And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
  19. Welcome aboard form New Mexico.
  20. Th Bible (KJB) is the final standard in all things when it comes to faith and practice! "Comment"aries are just that, comments on what an individual believes the Bible is saying. Is not the preacher commenting on what he believes the Holy Spirit is saying to him through the Word of God when he preaches a message. The Sunday school teacher and what material they use, being published or write by them or the pastor. There are those that say we should not even use a Bible with center references. Does that mean we should not send our young people to Bible collages, for are they not teaching what they believe the Bible is saying. Do we read books written by man to study Baptist doctrine. Was it wrong to read Bro. Rick's book on the Revelation? It all boils down to what the Bible (KJB) says and the Holy Spirit guides us to understand. When we decide that we must take what a man says over what God says then we are in trouble. It must always boil down to "Thus saith the Lord."
  21. But where in the KJB is there proof for babbling?
  22. I for one don't, but I have heard preachers and other Christians who now give credence to it by not standing for the Bible's account of creation. Statements such as "Well we don't really know how long the days in the book of Genesis really were. They may have been 1000 years for one day." "We don't know how long Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, it may have been million of years." "Well you know it takes billions of years for the light from the stars to reach the earth." I was at a VBS a couple of years ago, and had the preacher ask the ids how old the thought the earth was? Over 50% said millions of years old. And some of these children went to Christian schools. Ken Ham wrote a book called "All Ready Gone". In it he addressed the fact that we are losing the young people from our churched. (One of the premises of the book is that our children have decided to leave the church long before they reach the age that they will go out on their own, and that is while they are still in high school) Of the 1000, 18-30 year olds they interviewed 25% +/- were Baptist. Two of the one of the biggest reasons that the gave for leaving the church was that of hypocrisy in the leadership of the church. In that they did not stand for anything and that world views were being excepted over Biblical views.
  23. Fox is definitely not pro-Christian, they are very pro-RCC when it fits their cause. If they need religious panel members or "experts" they call on their RCC friends. They even have one reporter who is assigned to cover the Vatican. If you remember after 9/11 when they had their Baptist experts, Falwell and Robertson on and these men stated that the Muslims where haters and anti-American, etc. They quickly quit calling them and brought on people to rebut them. Can you imagine a news organization that espoused Biblical views and how long it would last?
