  1. Then it didn't come first by definition. This is not the faith that comes from God. You've placed your own repentance and beliefs (your own faith) before God, and this is a false gospel. But God did it all himself, its a free gift. We love him because He first loved us. "Godly sorrow works revenge"
  2. The boasting and argument is because you've made your salvation dependent on your belief works I think, and not the Rock. Satan sometimes does that to believers too, but they can't lose their salvation, just be really confused for a time. At the moment you do all that, you've created an idol in your heart. You don't do anything. God saves us Himself, and he gives us the faith, not ourselves. You can't come to that place. You can't admit. You can't see that. You can't put trust in Jesus, and God will save who He wants no matter how many witchcraft forumulas you give, because faith is only from Him. Because thats all it is, a way to require God to save you, instead of knowing that God has saved you because God loves you. You can't take love. I've been saved a long time, but you've been increasingly boasting against me. The bible says: Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. This boasting comes in when its not believed its just a gift of God, and you have to do something yourself. But God did it all himself, its a free gift. We love him because He first loved us. "Godly sorrow works revenge"
  3. You can stop using Sir as a means of insult, it is hypocritical. I didn't need to use sir to point out that you are wrong to do that. I stopped reading your messages closely when its apparent you weren't reading mine closely. If you weren't quoting Paul's similar admonishment, then I am sorry I misread it. You misquoted my message however, and therefore have misread it. I said Jesus *already* paid the price for your sins, before you even knew him. And that we love God because he first loved us. You seem not to understand that. That you think you have to repent of your sins first before you know it, that it is something you do, and repenting of something you have already been forgiven for is not understanding you already have been forgiven of it. It is not of ourselves, but God, so that no one can boast. You didn't save yourself if you are saved, and God loved you first. You didn't have to do anything, its a free gift.
  4. We love God, because He first loved us. Jesus Christ already paid the price for your sins on the cross, before you even knew him.
  5. Although you are beginning to sound more like what I have been saying the whole time, you are still not right. First, you quote what devils believe so much, but the prOBlem is, this isn't a good witness for others. People aren't devils, and while fallen angels in this world may know all these things, many people do not. Futhermore, devils can't be saved. Lastly, devils also know they are sinners. And most sinners actually know they are sinners too. They may be ignorant of how much but that is because they haven't known the love of God. Also, you may have many beliefs in your heart - but God needs to have put it there. A belief may be wrong, although it is in the heart. That repentance is according to you now an ongoing process means that repenting of sins by the believer is therefore not part of the one time thing done when a believer is born again. Repenting of sins is an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. We come to know God's love, and we become aware of our sins. Knowing God's love also is not our work either. We loved him because he first loved us. A lot of people have been arguing about belief and if it is enough, but the bible says that the faith isn't ours that no one should boast. IT IS THAT BOASTING I suggest that is the cause of all arguments like this that you see online. The boasting and argumentation is an indication that people don't agree that the faith wasn't from themselves. The boasting over salvation is an indication that you may not be saved, and I don't mean that personally. I have noted maybe dozens of arguments like this over various aspects of the salvation process, but isn't it all boasting of sorts? If it is God that gives you the faith, it also isn't your belief in the heart but HIS. Where is the argument and boasting? We love him because He first loved us.
  6. Bible verses? Having an unbiblical definition of repentance is as much heresy and changing the bible as anything. I've posted a whole thread on repentance, as well as the actual greek word. God repents maybe 60 times in the bible without counting. I'm using the word repent as it is actually used in the bible. Also, the appeal to emotion and accusation instead of the bible is not a Christian discussion. Many Christians have said the same thing. The heresy you are being mislead to believe in is called Lordship salvation. Meaning, if you don't work enough at being a servant, Jesus isn't your Lord. This is unbiblical. Believing that you are justly headed to hell, and God has judged fairly in this matter, is Christian doctrine. But only believing that Jesus Christ paid the price for your sins already is the actual gospel. You can't repent of your sins, you can only be aware that you are going to hell, and even repenting of them doesn't change the fact that God is just, that He created hell, and you are going there. Jesus came to save you from that. And your sins are already paid for on calvary. You are a sinner saved by God's grace. There is only *one* thing that the sinner needs to be saved. Not two. You are not making an agreement with God. God has already promised. You are not adding to God's work. It is God's work. You have not determined in your heart to follow God - because only God's will saves, not yours. You are not repenting of sins when the price has already been paid, which is a denial that it has already been paid. You are going to hell. You know you can not repent of all your sins, and you don't even know them all. If you are not adding to the gospel - name the *one* thing you need, which God gives you. I see a bunch of things you need to do to be saved (paragraph long statements), and it indicates to me lack of faith in God when He says there is only thing that is the work of God. Lets not argue, lets strengthen each other. The lack of faith is caused by the devil when he sows seeds of doubt in your mind, and we all feel it at times. There is no doubt in mind that there is only one thing that is the work of God.
  7. The logic follows the other way as well. If repent means to believe the gospel, then you added a work, so if it is a gift, then adding the other must not be the true gospel. All these religions believe in repentance. You must differentiate yourself. You have all failed to do so. It is not my jOB to understand for you. Explain the difference, or appear as you do - people who do not know the difference. You teach as the world teaches. Repentance (of sins) is common in the world - but Jesus Christ has already paid the price. Water can't wash away sin. Only the blood of Jesus.
  8. The sorrow of the world produces death. And its all repentance too, but not the one thing you need to do.
  9. I am aware that the churches are now filled with people who are mockers, practice witchcraft, and directly talk to satan. That the churches of satan are filled with the devil possessed, the spell caster, the liar, the abominable, and the homosexual. Remove yourselve from them. God is going to judge them. Come out of the harlot churches, and do not be mixed up with them any longer, because God is going to avenge Himself. Unless the falling away - From the pure faith of the gospel, come first. This began even in the apostolic age. But the man of sin, the son of perdition - Eminently so called, is not come yet. However, in many respects, the Pope has an indisputable claim to those titles. He is, in an emphatical sense, the man of sin, as he increases all manner of sin above measure. And he is, too, properly styled, the son of perdition, as he has caused the death of numberless multitudes, both of his opposers and followers, destroyed innumerable souls, and will himself perish everlastingly. He it is that opposeth himself to the emperor, once his rightful sovereign; and that exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped - Commanding angels, and putting kings under his feet, both of whom are called gods in scripture; claiming the highest power, the highest honour; suffering himself, not once only, to be styled God or vice - god. Indeed no less is implied in his ordinary title, "Most Holy Lord," or, "Most Holy Father." So that he sitteth - Enthroned. In the temple of God - Mentioned Revelation 11:1.Declaring himself that he is God - Claiming the prerogatives which belong to God alone. 2:6 And now ye know - By what I told you when I was with you. That which restraineth - The power of the Roman emperors. When this is taken away, the wicked one will be revealed. In his time - His appointed season, and not before. “ (I quoted it to 2:6 to show that Wesley believed in a historical church history approach, and that it also contradicts other claims by the apostate church.) ________________________________________ Lutherans Smalcald Articles, confession of faith written in 1537 by Martin Luther http://www.bookofconcord.org/smalcald.html http://web.archive.org/web/20071013031852/http://www.iclnet.org/pub/resources/text/wittenberg/wittenberg-boc.html#sa Article IV: Of the Papacy 10] This teaching shows forcefully that the Pope is the very Antichrist, who has exalted himself above, and opposed himself against Christ because he will not permit Christians to be saved without his power, which, nevertheless, is nothing, and is neither ordained nor commanded by God. 11] This is, properly speaking to exalt himself above all that is called God as Paul says, 2 Thess. 2, 4. Even the Turks or the Tartars, great enemies of Christians as they are, do not do this, but they allow whoever wishes to believe in Christ, and take bodily tribute and OBedience from Christians. Article IV: Of the Papacy 14] [...] Lastly, it is nothing else than the devil himself, because above and against God he urges [and disseminates] his [papal] falsehoods concerning masses, purgatory, the monastic life, one's own works and [fictitious] divine worship (for this is the very Papacy [upon each of which the Papacy is altogether founded and is standing]), and condemns, murders and tortures all Christians who do not exalt and honor these abominations [of the Pope] above all things. Therefore, just as little as we can worship the devil himself as Lord and God, we can endure his apostle, the Pope, or Antichrist, in his rule as head or lord. For to lie and to kill, and to destroy body and soul eternally, that is wherein his papal government really consists, as I have very clearly shown in many books. ________________________________________ Calvanists John Calvin's Institutues of the Christian Religion http://web.archive.org/web/20071013031852/http://www.ccel.org/ccel/calvin/institutes.iv.iv.viii.html?bcb=0 7. The Papacy at length appeared complete in all its parts, the seat of Antichrist. Its impiety, execrable tyranny, and wickedness, portrayed, sec. 23-30. [...] 25. To some we seem slanderous and petulant, when we call the Roman Pontiff Antichrist. But those who think so perceive not that they are bringing a charge of intemperance against Paul, after whom we speak, nay, in whose very words we speak. But lest any one OBject that Paul’s words have a different meaning, and are wrested by us against the Roman Pontiff, I wil1 briefly show that they can only be understood of the Papacy. Paul says that Antichrist would sit in the temple of God (2 Thess. 2:4). In another passage, the Spirit, portraying him in the person of Antiochus, says that his reign would be with great swelling words of vanity (Dan. 7:25). Hence we infer that his tyranny is more over souls than bodies, a tyranny set up in opposition to the spiritual kingdom of Christ. Then his nature is such, that he abolishes not the name either of Christ or the Church, but rather uses the name of Christ as a pretext, and lurks under the name of Church as under a mask. But though all the heresies and schisms which have existed from the beginning belong to the kingdom of Antichrist, yet when Paul foretells that defection will come, he by the description intimates that that seat of abomination will be erected, when a kind of universal defection comes upon the Church, though many members of the Church scattered up and down should continue in the true unity of the faith. But when he adds, that in his own time, the mystery of iniquity, which was afterwards to be openly manifested, had begun to work in secret, we thereby understand that this calamity was neither to be introduced by one man, nor to terminate in one man (see Calv. in 2 Thess. 2:3; Dan. 7:9). Moreover, when the mark by which he distinguishes Antichrist is, that he would rOB God of his honour and take it to himself, he gives the leading feature which we ought to follow in searching out Antichrist; especially when pride of this description proceeds to the open devastation of the Church. Seeing then it is certain that the Roman Pontiff has impudently transferred to himself the most peculiar properties of God and Christ, there cannot be a doubt that he is the leader and standard-bearer of an impious and abominable kingdom. ________________________________________ King James Bible (preface) http://web.archive.org/web/20071013031852/http://mb-soft.com/believe/txh/KJavpref.htm Preface to the King James Bible, 1611 …And this their contentment doth not diminish or decay, but every day increaseth and taketh strength, when they OBserve, that the zeal of Your Majesty toward the house of God doth not slack or go backward, but is more and more kindled, manifesting itself abroad in the farthest parts of Christendom, by writing in defence of the Truth, (which hath given such a blow unto that man of sin, as will not be healed,) […] For when Your Highness had once, out of deep judgment, apprehended how convenient it was, that, out of the Original sacred Tongues, together with comparing of the labours, both in our own and other foreign languages, of many worthy men who went before us, there should be one more exact translation of the Holy Scriptures into the English Tongue; Your Majesty did never desist to urge and to excite those to whom it was commended, that the Work might be hastened, and that the business might be expedited in so decent a manner, as a matter of such importance might justly require. […] “…acceptance of our labours shall more honour and encourage us, than all the calumniations and hard interpretations of other men shall dismay us. William Tyndale prayed when he was burning at the stake; “Lord, open the eyes of the King of England”. The King James Bible was the answer to that prayer. http://www.williamtyndale.com/0biblehistory.htm
  10. The time to mock God's people has come to an end. God has fulfilled His word.
  11. You've brought in the heresy of Lordship baptism, you tried to get people to believe satanism isn't as bad as it sounds on another thread, and now you are scourning. Sir, you have no fellowship with me in my heart, and the attempt not to praise God here I have noted. I give the praise to GOD ALMIGHTY that He makes His prophecy so detailed, that when you look at it more and more, it gets more and more detailed. Holy is the Lord God Almighty, and Holy is His Word. http://home.fuse.net/gospel/pope%20mass%20with%20cup.jpg That is the whore's golden communion cup, which is always golden in the Roman Catholic church. Communion is the same word as excommunicate, which is how the saints were always killed, they were excommunicated, and the cup of the great whore and all her harlot daughters literally has blood in it. All their harlotries, all their excommunications. Drink up your fill John. Let all God's children say Amen to God's prophecy and God's word which He has made true. Revelation 1 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 22 18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
  12. It says repent of certain sins some places. It also talks about repenting of not believing the gospel a lot of places. And it also says God repented a lot of times, but it is not talking about sin there - because God doesn't sin. If we haven't accepted Jesus Christ yet - turning from those sins does us no good, God won't clean us up for repentance. God cleans us up by by the blood of the Lamb! Actually, the letter in Revelation 3:3 says repent and Remember how you have heard and received, and hold fast; as an example of turning from unbelief. That one was just off the top of my head, but it actually is relevant to the topic of the whole thread. Some people needed to have their clothes washed in the blood of the lamb and made white as snow (as you can see later in the book), because they were trying to wash their sins off with something else (ie their works). THAT fyi is in a lot of our gospel songs, and they have good doctrine from the bible: Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/a/r/aruwashd.htm Nothing but the blood of Jesus http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/n/b/nbtblood.htm There is power in the blood http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/t/h/therepow.htm There is a few more I'm forgetting if anyone wants to post. God bless.
  13. That seems nicely put to me. This is what I believe - and I almost finished writing something on it tonight.
  14. This doesn't even need a reply. Go back, humble your message with what is your opinion, that you "think may be true", and facts, while not attacking anyone who is dead or in general terms ie "those people" "mason run churches" etc. It hardly takes a "mason" to be an American who is a patriot. I am hardly a mason, but I know you are wrong. At least if you follow Benjamin Franklin's advice, and be humble how you present your opinion, others will more likely listen to you and feel more like giving you what they actually know is true. Remember the sin of Ham.
  15. The founders were for the most part better men than you. You should humble youself. You're both speaking ill of better men than you who are dead, and saying things that are untrue.
  16. Ray Comfort - who got me on this kick of defining repentance carefully, doesn't believe that. I've seen him say that he doesn't believe someone is saved based on a sin in their life after being saved, in his witnessing. He's witnessing the law. Ray Comfort adds repentance of sins as two things you need to do to be saved, not one (and he says - there is two things you need to do). And he doesn't believe people are sinners saved by grace.
  17. Repentance found the world over. Admit you can't do it, and Jesus Christ already paid the price on the cross. He stands at the door knocking. "The sorrow of the world produces death" Roman Catholics http://www.diocese-sacramento.org/vocations/faqs_priest.html I’m not that “holy.” Can I still be a priest if I’m not very holy? Holiness (to be like Jesus) is a lifetime endeavor for every person in every vocation. Don ’t worry if you don’t see yourself as very holy right now. God will form you slowly, day by day and week by week, so that you will be ready to be His instrument when the time comes. But for now, use the sacrament of Penance at least once a month. Repent of your sins, receive the sacraments, and pray every day. You will be surprised at how Christ-like you can become! Jews http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Judaism/repentence.html Maimonides on Repentance "What constitutes complete repentance? He who is confronted by the identical situation wherein he previously sinned and it lies within his power to commit the sin again, but he nevertheless does not succumb because he wishes to repent, and not because he is too fearful or weak [to repeat the sin]. How so? If he had relations with a woman forbidden to him and he is subsequently alone with her, still in the throes of his passion for her, and his virility is unabated, and [they are] in the same place where they previously sinned; if he abstains and does not sin, this is a true penitent" (Mishneh Torah, "Laws of Teshuva," 2:1). Mormons http://www.whatmormonsbelieve.org/mormon_repentance.html Repentance in Mormonism Repentance is one of the first principles believed by the Mormon Church. Article of Faith 1:4 reads: ""We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance…"1 Mormons do believe that faith leads to repentance and the need for repentance has always been necessary. In Ecclesiastes we are told that 'no one is without sin and that if we think we are, we are deceiving ourselves. '2 We each sin whether that be through ignorance, our weaknesses or willful disOBedience. It is believed that we each come to this earth to grow and progress and work towards returning to our Father in Heaven; it is a lifelong process for each of us. Because each of us sin, it makes us unworthy to dwell in the presence of God. Mormons believe that Jesus Christ suffered the penalty for each of our sins so that we can each be forgiven if we truly repent. Since we are not perfect as the Savior was, we need help in returning to live with our Father in Heaven. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ (atone = reconcile or to restore to harmony), we can be prepared or reconciled to return to our Heavenly Father and able to dwell in His presence forever because we have been made perfect through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Repentance is a vital part in our returning to live with God. This life, as short as it may be, is believed by the Mormons, to be the time to prepare to meet God. Repentance is a daily process – we sin daily, thus we need to repent daily. Muslims http://www.themodernreligion.com/basic/repent3.htm Question 1: I fall into a sin and then repent, but my base self overcomes me and I fall into it again. Does this nullify my earlier repentance leaving the previous sins intact, unforgiven? Answer: In the opinion of the majority of scholars it is not conditional for a repentance to be accepted that the penitent does not fall into the same sin again. It is conditional that the sin be given up immediately and that there should be true feelings of regret in the heart. This should be accompanied by the firm intention not to fall into it again. Now, with these conditions met, if he falls into it again, then this will be considered a new sin altogether requiring a new repentance and with no connection with those of the past. Question 2: Is repentance over a particular sin acceptable while I am a victim of another? Answer: Yes, repentance over a particular sin is acceptable even if the repentant insists on another sin which is of a different nature and not the same as the one he has repented. To take an example, if a man repents having accepted "interest money", but not drinking wine, his repentance over the interest money is acceptable, and vice versa, but if he repents simple interest but not compound interest then his repentance is invalid. So also if he repents drugs but insists on drinking wine, or vice versa, then that repentance is invalid too. It will also be incorrect and unacceptable if a man repents adultery with a woman but commits it with another. In all these cases they have only shifted from one variety of sin to another within the same kind. Hindus - http://www.hinduwebsite.com/hinduism/h_karma.asp
  18. Not it isn't. Faith is what God gives you. It is not you turning. It is not something you can hope to do. It is not repenting of all your sins in tears. You may do that and be saved, but it isn't what saves, because it is God alone that saves. Faith, saving faith, isn't something you can do. God gives it, you believe it, and you confess it. That is why when I read Luke the other day on saving faith, I realized what it was talking about. It wasn't talking about how to get faith, but how to see if you have it, to consider and think about it. Am I really trusting God? And yes, HE WILL FINISH THE WORK HE STARTED (Ephasians 2:10, Php 1:6). Now, I know this discussion is hard because defintions have become what they aren't, and I also have gotten annoyed at times, but I hope to see that "as iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another", so sharpening defintions which involve what every false gospel badly defines is a good thing. Repent does not mean what many thinks it means. It may or may not be about sin, and God repents in the OT a lot. In the gospel, it means believe the gospel - Romans 10:9.
  19. Fyi - on those seven hills of Rome. One of the hills, capatoline, is where we get our word capitol from, and means "head". Neverless, lately, I've been looking at prophecy in a different way, looking at all her harlot daughters. Apostasy is widespread in the church, and God does not approve of its wickedness. I think He will end up convicting all them together.
  20. 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. On preaching the good news. I beleive this verse prOBably has everything I beleive about sin in it (you need to be saved) and everything you aren't suppose to do (condemn the world). If Jesus Christ didn't, I shouldn't. God talks to us through love. We realize our sins after we see his love, and not because he accuses us like satan. And how much did he love us? He loved us by dying on a cross for our own sins and to give us eternal life, and we were enemies!
  21. I haven't been careful in all my messages to state this over again (using Acts 8:37 as an example), but: Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That is ALL you need. And I believe God. That is all eunuch believed too: Act 8:26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. Act 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Act 8:28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. Act 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. Act 8:30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? Act 8:31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. Act 8:32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: Act 8:33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. Act 8:34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Act 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. Act 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? Act 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Act 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. Act 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. Act 8:40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
  22. I've been saved for a long time, but the way I treat people I believe are in error is the way I am treating you. I hope I retain that in my old age, and don't fall to the way of the world. I pray that I improve. 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. The thief on the cross is a good example. When he had faith that Jesus was who he said he was, and asked Jesus to save him Jesus saved him. It was a free gift that the thief received. (in joy). People react differently to different things. Putting an emotional response to it as some seem to require is essentially (re)pentance. If you are defining anything apart from faith as what you are talking about than you are just wrong, because faith is from God alone. If you are adding anything to what faith is, you are still not right. This is my heartfelt belief after a lot of thinking about this. Trying to make salvation a nice process of you do this and you do that, and all the doctrine disputes about repentance, and what process you follow, and where you put it in, is so much witchcraft and works of men. Jews repent. Catholics repent. Mormons repent. Jesus saves. God saves you through Jesus Christ His Son. PERIOD. Its grace through faith, and that from God alone. You don't get more faith or lose less faith by something you do, else it isn't the faith God gave you. Amen.
  23. Yankee Candle's posting of pictures of the RCC reminded me of something. God loves us. I remember creating something like that many years ago. I didn't have much back then, and I was under attack almost instantly. And I prayed about for it, and God answered that prayer. First, I advertised the site on google ads because I didn't know how to get the message out, because no one would listen, or help, and because of censuring messages. I only had $50 to advertise, and I received it all back. Second, I put it up on an ISP I no longer have an account with for a long time, and it is still up. Its been preserved. Third, it was put in a newspaper for the pope arriving for "world youth day", in the middle of the pedophile scandal, although I didn't know that happened until a long time later. God is loving us and taking care of us even when we aren't aware of everything He is doing. I've seen that type of thing many times in my life. I assume that is God showing me something. Here is the original site. Note, this is one of the first things I wrote. I understand more now, and it isn't perfect, but God is gracious. Amen: http://home.fuse.net/gospel/pictures%20and%20quotes.htm Here is the newspaper link. I'm told its a liberal magazine. Perfectly fine for the intent of the site, makes no difference: http://www.nowtoronto.com/music/story.cfm?content=132908&archive=21,47,2002
  24. FYI - My reading of sin lately means that lots of people are teaching it backwards as well. After we are saved, we are suppose to worship God and give him the glory continually. Romans 1 says that those who don't do so and turn the truth of God into a lie, he turns over to their own lusts. So ironically, by trying to remove sins ourselves instead of having FAITH in him and worshiping him for having already forgiven our sins, we make things worse. Futhermore, we are sanctified by his word. Reading it, the Holy Spirit uses it to make us become more aware of sin and to remove it from our lives, and to renew our minds. This is again different than the works based ideas of santification, but reading God's word and having faith in him is OBeying Romans 1. Trying to be good ourselves and not giving him the glory is what causes God to give them over to their own lusts. Reading God's word and worshiping Him means God will naturally remove the sin from our lives - as in he will finish the work he started.
