    Knowing God’s Will Requires Surrender
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2).
Knowing God’s will begins with surrender of myself as a living sacrifice to serve Christ. This refers to full surrender. A sacrifice doesn’t have its own will and plans. It is dead to self and alive only... Read More View the full article

AMERICA’S MORAL INSANITY CONTINUES APACE (Friday Church News Notes, July 21, 2017, www.wayoflife.org fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - Last week, 23 Republicans joined all of the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives to defeat an amendment that would have ended Barack Obama’s policy of funding “gender-reassignment” surgery for solders. The amendment was offered by Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R, Mo.), who said during debate on the bill, “Military members undergoing transition surgery are non-deployable for up to 267 days. The Earth’s Ecosystem
According to the Bible, God created the world as a delightful place for man’s existence, but it was plunged into death and chaos because of man’s sin. Thus we would expect to find two seemingly contradictory things in nature: harmony and chaos, delight and pain, glorious life and terrible death, and this is exactly what we find.
The examples of the harmony and integration of nature are endless. Henry Zuill, Ph.D. in... Read More View the full article

    A Warning About Professional Sports
The more I have meditated upon the topic of professional sports, the more disgusted I have become.
This is not to say I have not found enjoyment from sports in general. In the 1990s when my sons were teenagers, I got involved with baseball and, to a lesser degree, with a few other sports. At the same time my limited experience has been bitter-sweet and I have noticed many spiritual dangers. There is a tremendous... Read More View the full article

    The Flagellum Motor
The flagellum motor is a microscopic motor-driven propeller that propels the sperm cell and certain bacteria. Molecular scientists are amazed at its “apparent” design. Harvard biologist Howard Berg calls it “the most efficient machine in the universe.”
The flagellum motor is composed of a propeller, drive shaft, stator, bushing, u-joint, and is powered by the flow of hydrogen ions. It can rotate at 6,000 to 17,000 rpm but usually operates at... Read More View the full article

The Independent Baptist Mutual Admiration Society of Compromise
Iam deeply concerned about the rapidly-growing compromise among independent Baptists. After I was saved in 1973, I didn’t know where to go to church. I was led to Christ by a Pentecostal man who went on his way the next day, and I have never seen him again. I began to study the Bible diligently, visit churches, listen to Christian radio, and read books, seeking God’s will about church membership. I knew that I wasn’t going back to the Southern Baptist Convention that I had grown up in, because they simply didn’t take the Bible seriously. There was no separation, no discipline, no call for sold-out discipleship.... Read More View the full article

How to Make Wise Decisions in God's Will
Many people have spoiled their Christian lives because of bad decisions made apart from God’s will (e.g., wrong job, wrong friends, wrong marriage partner, mistakes in the pursuit of education, mistakes made in moving to another place). And it is not only young people who make unwise decisions; many older and even elderly people have committed this grave mistake. Following are some foundational Bible principles for making wise decisions in God’s will:
    1. Don’t trust your own understanding; trust in the Lord. See Proverbs 3:5; 28:26; Jeremiah 17:9. The individual that trusts his own understanding will make wrong decisions, because of the fallen nature. We must seek God and trust Him explicitly. Even though... Read More View the full article

Separation from the world must be emphasized continually. The world’s pop culture is devouring multitudes of young people in the churches. It is capturing their hearts. The church must deal effectually with the world’s music, social media, video games, dress fashions, friendships, attitude.

Pushing the Edge on Dress Standards
In my preaching conferences I have had occasions, sadly, to observe that though a church or Christian school might have pretty good dress standards (written or unwritten) for workers and youth, many of the girls and young women dress immodestly.
I am not the only one to notice this. One pastor wrote as follows:
“In 2006, I visited the campus of --------- Christian College and attended a chapel service. I was grieved as I watched the students assemble. Many of the girls were wearing tight, form fitting blouses and skirts. There were a lot of skirts above the knee as well as slits that went above the knee. Israel was forced into the war by the belligerence of the Muslim nations who vowed to destroy her. Egypt’s president Gamal Abdel Nasser, the leader of the coalition, said, “Our basic objective will be the destruction of Israel” (Isi Leibler, The Case For Israel , 1972, p. 60). 15 Bible Reasons a Christian Should Join a Bible-Believing Church
The following is by the late Dr. Bruce Lackey:
New Testament Christians joined a local church. The churches had membership lists, either in writing or in memory. Since the Scripture was given for instruction in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16), God evidently wants us to follow their example. Although there is no specific verse that says, "Thou shalt join a church," there are fifteen places that either require or teach by example that we should do so.
    (1) THE FIRST CHURCH HAD A MEMBERSHIP. "And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)" (Ac 1:15). This Jerusalem church had a list of about 120 names that made up.. Read More View the full article
