  1. Even though I am not married as of now, i began the habit of saying yes ma'am/yes sir a couple years ago to be an example to the young ones at my church.
  2. Halloween is a great time to pass out tracts and it is easier than any other time since people come to you. I like the Chick Tracts and I used them last Halloween. I heard a sermon about Halloween that I like to share a small portion of. "Asking a Christian to celebrate Halloween is like forcing a Jew to celebrate Adolf Hitler's birthday and asking him/her enjoy it." FInal food for thought: HALLOWeen, do those capitalized letters look familiar? Part of the Lord's Prayer: "Our Father, which art in Heaven, HALLOWed be thy name...."
  3. I found it humorous and not really humorous. To those Christians who believe in conspiracy theories: Remember if it wasn't for the resurrection we will all still be in our sins and condemned to hell and the Lake of Fire for all eternity. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 plainly states the resurrection and the Gospels also give an account of it. The disciples also suffered a horrible death for proclaiming it. it would be stupid to die for a lie but more importantly it is unwise to doubt the clear words of our Lord who speaks truth and cannot lie (Titus 1:2). It is blasphemous to say that any part o
  4. Many ways, I use the KJV, commentaries when I am stumped or want to seek another's point of view. Concordance to quickly find a passage. I also study it dispensationally. I am a pre millennial dispensationalist. It helps eliminate seeming contradictions. It is similar to reading someone else's mail. For example: The 4 Gospels and the Pentateuch is the "mail" or the doctrine for the Jews. The Pauline epistles (ROmans to Philemon) are our "mail" or doctrine for the New Testament Church.
  5. Live in Colorado, Church in Wyoming
  6. In my opinion, I would say that the young man ask her father first since she is under his authority and he has more wisdom and insight. So to answer your question, a pro and con list is okay but not necessary since God knows what you are thinking even before you write them down. I would let her father examine the young man before the young man even approaches her and let him talk to his daughter about him. THen she can pray about it (with the pros and cons) If she has peace about it and her father consents, it is a good indication that it is God's will to pursue the relationship. Otherwis
  7. Great post and I am glad that you are striving to keep your emotions in check. Also, being physically pure before marriage is something so rare these days and I praise the Lord that you are guarding yourself. Principles come first then emotions. In fact principles drive emotions. Everyday is a battle and every circumstance you get to choose between the Spirit or the flesh. Which one wins? It depends on which one you feed the most. Walk in the Spirit in order not to fulfill the lusts of your flesh. (Galatians 5:16) In the flesh there dwelleth no good thing. (Romans 7:18) By the way I
  8. 1. No he is not. If you believe that Jesus and baptism saves, then you are basing your salvation off of a works base. Ephesians 2:8-9, THe person also robs God of is glory since he is playing a part in his salvation GOd clearly states in Isaiah 42:8 that He will not give His glory to anyone. THe person also denies the sufficiency of the Sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. 2. Yes and No. The saved person can have this belief early in his Christian walk by influences from false teachers but if he is truly saved, the Lord will direct his paths in the ways of righteousness. As a child of G
  9. Greetings to all the blood washed saints of this board and others who may come across this post. I have been Independent Baptist since 2007 and growing in the Lord. I view the King James Bible as the word of God without question or apology. I hold to a pre-millennial dispensational viewpoint and believe in modest dress and separation from the world as best we can. If anyone knows of a good independent baptist church in the denver area do tell. I look forward interacting with you in these forums and pray that we will sharpen each other as iron sharpeneth iron. May the Lord bless all
