  1. 2 Corinthians 5:1-2

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

Could this be "In my Father's house are many............. . Is the Father's house the entire heaven, where God abides???

  2. In my Father house are many Mansions........I go to prepare a Place for you..

Does a Place equate to a Mansion??  Will we need a physical place to live in?? Will our "new" body require certain substances for survival?? Will we require sleep and rest??

So many questions with no answers NOW; but, they will be revealed when we get Home.

Without Faith it is impossible to please God.

  3. "It is not even that God is silent about it - there is simply no biblical nor linguistic room for a gap."  I would agree with the biblical; but the 'linguistic' is way above this ole country boy's head.

5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

If we looked real - real - hard we could find a gap between evening and morning (nighttime) and between morning and evening (afternoon)!!!! Now we have to deal with 3 gap theories. :eureka:  I think I need a vacation.

  4. I  have had to switch to IE and am using Windows 7.  I am having the same problem, cannot paste and cannot quote.  It works fine when I use Chrome, but I have other issues with Chrome so am using IE.  It seems to me (but I am an idiot when it comes to programming, etc.) that it is probably a glitch between this forum software and IE.

    God bless,

    Larry

I have Window 7 and use Firefox.

  5. For some reason I can not copy and paste here either.

Anyone know why this is happening and how it can be remedied or is this an issue with OB?

Are you using the pop-up window menu OR the keyboard? Can you highlight the words to be copied?

If using the pop-up method and you can highlight the words; try the Control-C for copy and Control-V for paste on the keyboard.

What is your Operating System and Internet Browser?

  6. Steve:

I'm having the same problem. When I 'Quote' or Copy/Paste; the lettering is so lite, its hard to read. Also I cannot type a response. What did you do to correct your problem? Thanks

Works OK now. Had to delete all the "cookies".

  7. I believe we need to be careful not to let "labeling" baptists destroy us from within. We have IB (Independent Baptist) and IFB (Independent Fundamental Baptist) and

OFIFB (Old Fashioned Independent Fundamental Baptist). Needless to say there will be more coming down the road. Maybe we should just call ourselves Christians and let the chips from the outside world fall where they may.

  8. There be many excuses one can come up with for not attending church services. And one who fails to attend church services because they can come up with many excuses not to, are generally hard to convince their need for being an active member of a New Testament Church.

One thing for sure, if we found a perfect church, once we joined it, it would not longer be perfect.

We are in the church age, if everyone decided not to attend church there would be no church to carry out the great commission that Christ gave to his churches, go, teach, and baptize.

Besides that we have this verse.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

We would all agree that we should and must attend church. The question was not why people 'should attend church' or why they don't; but what should we expect from the church that we want to be part of and become a member of that church. The references to Heb 10:23,24, and 25; do these commandments only apply when we are "in church", or to our everyday walk?
  9. Why go to Church? Sometimes I feel we have lost our way when it comes to the reason why we should attend Church. When we moved to our present home; we visited well over ten IFB Churches. All were KJB and very good people; but there seemed to be something missing. PrOBably the thing I look for the most in a Church; comes from a statement a very wise man made to me 25-30 years ago. He said "The biggest prOBlem in our Churches is that we have a lot of Preachers, but very few Pastors". If that was true then; how far have we fallen? What would be your #1 priority for selecting a home Church. Mine is the teaching of biblical doctrines and help in living day-to-day for Christ.
