  1. Mine was a 90 Dodge Omni. It was OK other than the occasional stalling when in traffic. When you live in a city that is often.

    What was your first car?

    Mine was a 58 international stepside pickup truck in 77 . What can I say , I was a hayseed ! LOL .

Also , please bear with me while I try to fellowship on here. I am new at the computer and just learning the fonts, and other little things etc. God bless
OH yea , AND MAN DO I MISS THAT OL` truck ! She was a goodin`!

  2. This is prOBably one of the most filthy disgusting songs I have ever heard. It is by that so called baptist church Westboro "baptist" church. The end is absolutly horrifying. I was trying to put this in the thread that the church was mentioned in awhile back, but i could not find that thread.

The guy who posted the second link on youtube has excellent videos in which you all might enjoy. The church is Lancaster Baptist Church. They even have a radio station online you might be interested in.

MERCY ! First time I have heard of this church . Can someone fill me in on their doctrine and where they are located ? Purly for future reference to warn friends . Man , thats SAD !
Also , is that Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster OHIO ?
    Forgive my ignorance ,
    In Christ

  3. A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home. Next to her was a basket containing a number tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS.

Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a tall, grinning man.

"Hi there, little girl, I'm President OBama. What do you have in the basket?" he asked.

    "Kittens." little Suzy said.
HHEEEE HEEEE I LOVE IT !
How old are they? asked OBama.

Suzy replied, "They're so young, their eyes aren't even open yet."

"And what kind of kittens are they?"

"Democrats," answered Suzy with a smile.

OBama was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens.

Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two men agreed that the president should return the next day, and, in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.

So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of "FREE KITTENS" when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN.

Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then OBama got out of his limo and walked over to little Suzy.

"Hello, again," he said, "I'd love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you're giving away."

"Yes sir," Suzy said. "They're Republicans."

Taken by surprise, the president stammered, "But... but... yesterday, you told me they were DEMOCRATS."

Little Suzy smiled and said, "I know. But today, they have their eyes open."
  4. I ,for the sake of better understanding ,would like to ask a quetion about denominations. I am whole hearted Baptist because it is the ONLY denomination I`ve found that comes close to defending the ENTIRE Word of God . Also because I believe so strongly in the ``Baptist Distinctives``.

Point being and I guess the REAL question : Can we truely trace our denomination (historically ) back to the cross ? I KNOW THAT SCRIPTURALLY ,INDEPENDANT FUNDAMENTAL BAPTISTS ARE as close as we can get to the true Biblical sense of A BELIEVER WALK with CHRIST . In Christ

  5. Education in the Word of God is somewhat lacking if they become involved with freemasonry.

AMEN ! Also, we MUST be discerning of God's Word INSTEAD of man's word of Gods Word, if that makes any sense. I think that's how people get mixed up in these things to begin with.

  6. Doubtful, why? I know several church members, even deacons, even pastors too, that are in the Masons. If you try to discuss this with them, they cannot understand why they should not be a Mason.

John R. Rice wrote a great book on this subject, Lodges; Examined by the Bible copyrighted 1943.

Mlkmandan , 2 Cor. 6:17 . We are to seperate ourselves from secular worldliness. But seeing that someone has offered the reference of John R. Rices book ,I think I`ll let him do the explaining ,for he prOBably has ALL the scripture references right there .
Also I WOULD NOT attend a church where the Pastor was so blind to the Word of God that he would not understand WHY he shouldnt be a member of such an organization. Or the deacons for that matter. I believe it would and should be a disciplinary matter for not only the officers and teachers but the congregation also.
I know for a fact our church would lovingly bring these matters to ones attention who is the offender.AND disciipline them according to Matthew 18 if the matter wasnt resolved.Thank you folks for allowing my candor. This seems like a great place to air our thoughts as well as fellowship.

  7. I use a devotional called "Feature" that is IFB, and in the front cover of every issue is also a reading plan that takes me through the whole Bible in the year plus through Psalms and Proverbs twice. I really like it a whole lot, it keeps me focused, and when I find a topic that I think is interesting, then I'll study it out more after my daily reading.

I guess I didnt say in my last comment, but I DO read through in one year cover to cover . Been doing that for prOBably the last 6 or 7 years. And wonder WHY I ever stopped years ago, because of the strength God gives me because of it
Its really the only way a believer has to walk rightly with the Lord.As I said in my first comment you read through it within a year and study the same way .It truly is a wonderful practice.

  8. Chances are that they were just a different race of people. Science used to portray "Neanderthals" as some brutish half human cavemen but the more evidence they find the more OBvious it becomes even to scientists that the "Neanderthals" were just as human and just as intelligent as any number of other primitive cultures.

Well , thats the KEY word ``PRIMITIVE`` . There is no nor has there ever been such a thing as ``primitive`` man. According to the Word of God,not my reasoning .
Man was as intelligent 4000 yrs ago as he is now . Thats why I said in my first comment about history ed. being so important. Man back then ( not that most people would know this because of lack of education) but man back then even had BATTERIES ! They knew electricity The mere fact that we havent discovered more of these types of things could be as simple as GOD DOES WANT US TO KNOW BECAUSE HE WANTS US TO LIVE BY FAITH and NOT BY SIGHT!
And I dont care what modern science says ,when it is written ,IT IS WRITTEN ! The lack of knowledge that even Christians are dealing with today is from the fact that FEW people want to pick up their Bibles and read for themselves. THERE IS NOTHING that we deal with in modern life that is not in the Word of God if we only read it believing !

  9. Yes.

    Now I'll explain:icon_mrgreen:

A truly born again believer can be involved in any sin, sinful activity or organization. The Holy Ghost doesn't convict everyone of all their sins at the same time. A believer can be a part of something sinful and not have had the Spirit directly convict him yet.

Eventually, a believer should grow in the Lord enough and should submit to the Spirit enough that he will eventually be convicted of whatever sin he's involved in...whether personal sin, some sinful activity or involvement in a sinful organization.

Of course there is also the prOBlem of a person so resisting conviction that their hearts become hardened in that area and no longer recognize the conviction.

There are many professing Christians who are also Masons. Some are true believers, some are not.

Thank YOU John , I couldnt have said it better. I too believe this only because the apostle Paul warned true believers so many times about false gospels and cults. Thank you for your input , in Christs Love ,Tbinkley

  10. Thanks yall. I think I just finally had it with publishers, and went on a rant. There are certain publishers I strictly avoid from the get go, and then there are those I have dealt with.
I dont have a prOBlem with understanding the KJB, but just cant find myself to trust a publisher, if I have found an error in their publishing. Is that being OCD?
I am not going to another per-version.
I am checking out LCBP's website now.
Has anyone had any experience with the Rock of Ages Study Bible by Oxford?

  11. I am at my wits end here.
I can not tell you how many King James Bibles I have, and the reason I have so many...errors.
I keep finding errors, with typos or word replacements.
When I find one error, I push my Bible to the side, and begin my quest for another publisher. I have tried Holman, Hendricks, Scofield, Cambridge, Zondervan and Tyndale publishers, and always find some little quirk.
I am beginning to abondan the idea of authenticity, am seriously thinking of switching to an ESV and starting all over again.
  12. Can anybody (preferably a pastor , or mature believer)answer a quetion that just popped in my mind ?
Can a TRULY born again believer be mixed up in and a member of the Freemasons ?I guess I mean to add ``without being convicted``?

  13. At the risk of sounding cynical ,and no offense intended, where do ``neanderthals`` fit into the Word of God ?
The only change in mans intelligence EVER came by the FALL of Adam in the garden. Mankind hasnt changed in thinking ability whatsoever. Just wallowing in our sin more !
This is why Jesus Christ had to come to earth and die and raise again the third day to save those who believe and trust in Him and HIM alone !
By mans sinful nature we have derived these ``caveman``theories to take us farther from the Truth which is ONLY in Gods Word !

  14. (PhysOrg.com) -- Neanderthals used makeup and jewellery challenging the idea that they were cognitively inferior to early modern humans, according to research published in the Proceedings in the National Academy of Sciences today. Radiocarbon dating by researchers at Oxford University suggests that pigment-stained and perforated marine shells were almost certainly used as pendants by Neanderthals in Spain 50,000 years old. ... (more) http://www.physorg.com/news182439329.html

yep, they have the capability as modern humans. just that ideas haven't evolve yet so that's why they seem "stupid" (according the title of the article). Sometimes I think animals are just as bright as humans, just that humans are the only one who questioned if there's a God.

  15. I confess... I saw this on another board.. but thought that it would be fun do do here... what did you prepare, or have for supper last night?

We had pork tennderloin that I bbq'd , small red potatoes that I diced and baked with butter and garlic, and corn in butter sauce... we had apple turnovers with ice cream for dessert!

Yummm yum ! I love red potatoes ! We had chicken breast marinated in Italian dressing and Caesar salad /garlic bread. I like yours better !

  16. For several years, because I have had plenty of time being a full time pastor;
I read 5 chapters in Psalms - to keep my heart right
I read 1 chapter in Proverbs - to keep my mind right
I read 1 chapter in Acts - to keep my feet moving
I also read straight through 3 chapters / day
Total of 10 chapters. Then what ever I study for messages

brodave ,I REALLY like this study plan of yours. I know so many pastors who dont put in nearly that much personal reading in a day .And that bothers me severly ,for how can and are us lay people supposed to be faithful in Scripture study when pastors dont dedicate themselves to the WORD personally ?
I like also the way you seperate THAT MUCH personal devotion from actual message study ,THIS is how a preacher should spend his day! Just read Acts 6 ! May God Bless , Tbinkley

  17. For normal, everyday readings of the Bible, how exactly do you read it? Do you read it cover to cover? Follow a reading plan? Old Testament in the AM, New Testament in the PM? Just open the Bible randomly and read wherever you land?

I normally read it cover to cover for daily reading.

I like David Clouds study ways. (Contact him at Wayoflife ministries) . He says and I agree. we MUST read it from cover to cover . I would like to add ,we must read it BELIEVING ,Heb. 11:6.
Bible reading is a common sense thing. How would you read any other book?
Although there is alot more to understanding GODS Word because it is the mind of GOD.
David Cloud says we must READ it and also have another time where we STUDY it . Now these can be tied together, as I have learned in practice.
We should read the Word with the idea of allowing God to speak to us and then STUDY it with the idea of saturating ourselves with Scriptural principles.
First read the scriptures after praying Gods blessing upon it and read it believing and trusting that God will deliver a message to your heart.
Study does not require a library full of books! Just the BOOK and an open mind to learn it. I like Bro. Clouds idea of having a good reference Bible,a Strongs Concordance,PENCIL(not pen, unlike most I found that I dont like marking up my Bible with unerasable Fallible human notes) for notations in your Bible, and a notebook(I use mine MOSTLY for jotting down scripture refs. and words to look up later). These are really the only tools a Biblebelieving ,God fearing person needs to get started.
You will find as you go along that you will prOBably want at least one commentary ,a Vines Greek OT AND NT Dictionary, maybe more as God leads Tbinkley
  18. :amen:I am from Troy , Ohio and faithfully attend Troy Baptist Temple .
I just logged on here after surfing IFB websites and thought it a good place to fellowship.
I have been looking for a site like this where I can speak my scripturally attentive mind and have other likeminded brothers and sisters share our thoughts.
Looking forward to chats on this site .
    In Christ , Tbinkley
