  1. When one truly tries to walk in the path of Jesus, deny their self, and bear their cross, there will be some who will always see it as being legalist.

The Holy Scriptures be quite clear, you either agree or disagree.

2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

If you want to fellowship with unbelievers, workers of darkness, don't put down those who OBey these plain spoken verses.

But honestly, out side of trying to witness to them, trying to bring them to Christ, what have you who belong to Christ have in common with them, that is if you are going to live and stand for Christ?

    Remember:

Php 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

If your fellowshipping, being friends with, running with, bosom buddies with, the unbelievers, the infidels, your buddying up to those who are the enemies of the Cross of Christ.

Try talking about your heavenly Father, about your Savior Christ, and Christians things while your in the company of unbelievers, infidels, them see how much fellowship they will want with you.

Of course if all you do while in their company is talk about worldly things, leaving God and Christ out, they will prOBably like and enjoy your company.

Remember, they stand against everything you claim to believe by confessing Jesus as your Savior, they are the enemies of the cross of Christ.

OK BROTHER , allow me to drop this on you . My nephew just emailed me and said I quote `` I am convinced there are less ``heretical viewpoints from Gods standpoint than there are from mans . I have taken this stand from Paul as he speaeks in 1 Cor. 2:2 I have decided to know nothing ,save Jesus Christ and Him crucified . : If another one and I can stand together on that ,then everything else is details ,in my opinion . `` UNQUOTE .
THIS is a little bit ``NEW EVANGELICAL sounding to me ! CORRECT ME IF I`m Wrong . But dont think I am .
Hes really starting to concern me . He came out of the German Baptist church and seems to be swinging FAR left . if I may use that term .
Please exhort with scripture . alll join in.
    In Christ Jesus

  2. Vince, just a reminder that we are to post only KJV verses. Thanks. Under Board Rules, #3 says:

    AMEN AMEN AND AAMEN! :amen:
Kitagrl and Happychristian , I believe what your are trying to say Paul is spelling out in 1 Cor. 5:10. I agee with you both .I sometimes think that we try to go ,as you said Happychristian, alittle to far wih seperation. Consider the fact that the Lord DOES work in mysterious ways ! From that concept I believe that He will allow a faithful believer (of which must be grounded in the Word) to have casual association with such as we speak. This could very well, through association with the Holy Spirit lead to conviction in that persons life enough to bring them back into fellowship or even lead them to Christ,if not saved to begin with! Not to lean on my own experience ,but I have seen souls won to Christ when everybody thought they were saved in the first place, out of situations like this.

  3. Here's the thing...I don't think its Biblical to say "You are my best friend in the world and we do everything together even though you're a rebel."

However, I also don't think its Biblical to stick your nose up in the air and say "I can't speak to you because you are bad and I am good" (which OBviously thats not what you'd say, but its kind of the attitude too many Christians "with standards" get.)

Its something I've been thinking about in general...why do we have standards and convictions in our lives? For God? I hope. To show the world we are different? I hope. To compare ourselves to others who may not have the same beliefs? Too many times, YES but not Biblical, as God tells us not to compare...if we aren't comparing, then we aren't judging, because with whatever judgement we mete, with that also we will be judged.

How many people have said "you don't raise your kids right" only to see their own kids rebel? How many scorn a woman who got a divorce and then five years later they have their own basket of marital prOBlems?

I'm just saying that too many people take this verse WAY too far. Yeah if you have someone shacking up, you aren't going to hang out with them or be their best friend. But too many times these verses are used to castigate people who do not share the exact standards of the preacher or deacon or whoever else.

It should be somewhat rare in our churches that we would actually have to follow these Scriptures and discipline someone out of church, or keep a friendship back.

You are speaking from MY heart now sister ! AMEN to ALL you said. I through prayer and study ,come to believe the reason for my ``confusion was simply expained by Gods Word : I.E. ,2 Tim. 2:23 ,expains my delema .
BUT ,David ClOUD JUST posted an email on ``Using Creation Science Material`` . While it sounds ``off the subject``,He made a point on the fact that we need to be discerning when talking to others about such things as creation science , etc, that could become a debate or contention, interfering with the TRUE preaching of Gods Word . Ya have to read it to appreciate it. But anyway the principle he was refering to was the same in this situation .
It really spoke to my heart !

    God be with you all

  4. Your nephew could possibly be picking up on your confusion a bit - and then, not liking your answer tries to put it back on you.

WELL ,thats kind of what I was thinking . But then again thats why I start quoting scripture ,To let God speak so as to clarify my position. Didnt seem to help much. I really believe the man is struggling with his self right now . Seems to have a strong personal testimony ,but he is wondering around between denominations . He has a jail ministry . But I think he is really confused on where exactly the Lord wants him .
Thank you so much for the input , In Christ

  5. Your welcome. On this subject the word epistle comes to my mind, so I search the New Testament for the word epistle and find what I need on this subject. Wish I could remember many more key words for other subjects, for they surely help one find what they're looking for.

Jerry ,Am I understanding you right when you say ``epistle ``? Do you mean the epistles come to mind , because of what Paul taught , or something different? Cause it sounds like your coming from where I am.

  6. I don't think they should be your best friend, but I don't buy this belief that some teach, that if one of your family members is immoral that you aren't allowed to eat Christmas dinner with them.... I don't think that's in the Bible.

Read the context...its of church discipline.

I LOVE talking with people that I can AGREE with online ! I whole heartedly agree with you ! Thanks for the response ! God bless

  7. I don't believe that verse in Corinthians are limited to the church. Do you really think it's okay for us to keep company with fornicating Christians as long as it's not at church?

WELL ,scripture is clear on the fact that if (Paul wrote of this )a brother wont listen to rebuke then we should put him away from us . That does not mean putting our noses in the air when we see him on the street .
Like I saw another brother post on here AMOS 3:3 Except two be agreed they cannot walk together. I had a preacher rebuke me about that one time saying that was talking about Jesus only . I told him IT was the principle of the verse I was following ! Come to find out later the man was DEEP into Calvnism . I ended up seperating my family and I from that mess. In His name
  8. Forgive me if this isnt the proper forum to post this . I get confused as to which I should use but really covet feedback from other believers .
I get a little ....confused ,rattled ? when someone comes to me with a Biblical or spiritual matter or question confronts me with it . Then I give them scripture and verse to a simple straight forward question and they get upset or even angry with the answer.
If I am wrong for getting confused or even rattled ,someone PLEASE rebuke me in love and show me scripture to change my heart ! I dont get rattled enough that it would show to the point of causing contention with another . So THATS not the issue.
What is troubling me is that my nephew is asking questions that I am spiritually recieving scripture and verse to give him . He tells me that I am confused with the question . then I hear 2 Tim. 2:23 whispered inside me and walk away . When I truely have a desire to help him understand from a spiritual perspective . DO I MAKE ANY SENSE ? AM I BEING A LITTLE TOO SENSETIVE ? AM I TRYING TO OVERSTEP GODS BOUNDRIES OVER THE SITUATION AT HAND ?
    God bless

  9. My nephew just asked me : #1 He was wondering if there is a wrong way to find happiness in Christ ? #2 Should we seperate ourselves from people who give a personal testimony and show fruit in their lives but have different scriptural preferences ?
I know these sound like loaded questions , But I desire to hear other believers views on these two questions .
I believe I answered him scripturally correct . But the questions themselves threw me for a loop !
I just am doubting if I mis understood him . And if I didnt muddy the issues more than help . I basicly told him about scriptural seperation and how satan IS the great deciever and mocks and imitates Gods ways . So we must be ``discerning `` when fellowshiping with people with people who say they are saved but walk in a `` different ? scriptural way . PLEASE SEND scripture and verse feedback .
    GOD BLESS

  10. Lamb steak in a three peppers sauce, steamed new potatoes, runner beans, carrots and celery, left over cauliflower cheese.

Sounds delicious ! How do you fix your ``new potatoes ``? Just steam them ina double boiler? I LOVE new potatoes ! Just never learned how to cook em ! The way I always ate them it seemed they were steamed then browned in a skillet . But never found anyone to give me verification .Mom passed away before I could ask HER .

  11. Chicken and cheese casserole, green beans, and stewed cabbage with tomatoes and sauerkraut, and chocolate cake.

Sounds DELICIOUS ! I love good old home cooking like that . Especially the stewed cabbage and tomatoes and saurkraut.
  12. :th_tiphat:Just for the sake of chat ,I would like to hear some feedback on the topic of what Jesus was refering to of the ``unpardonable sin``. Hopefully there are some great theologians on here that will give me a greater insight into this . :th_tiphat:

  13. Hi everyone. I am looking for a good KJV Bible for my best friend, Darrell. He is a seeker at this point in his life and I am wanting to find a KJV Bible geared towards seekers. I would prefer one that has notes in it and such that show how Christianity is true and explain key doctrines and such. If no such Bible is available, I would take the next best offering. What do you recommend? :puzzled:

I`d like to recommend just a good reference Bible . Although I have a few ``study`` Bibles I am at a crossroads of getting back to the the plain old Word Of God , with references of course . I have ALWAYS valued the Old Scofield but ALL study Bibles have human error in their notes ! And CAN AND WILL cause confusion the new convert.
This is why I started recommending a simple reference Bible (can be with dictionary and concordance preferably) to my friends.
There are some good inexpensive ones on the KJVSTORE.com.
A reminder: Only Gods Word is INSPIRED . NOT the NOTES .
    God bless

  14. Long ago Chrisendom was divided between Orthodox & Catholic. True believers were not under those umbrellas, but were persecuted.

I remember an argument in the papers in the 50s, where I contributed. The Anglicans were trying hard to defend their claim to be part of the catholic church, whereas the RCs were claiming exclusive use.

I encouraged readers to ignore the debate & seek a living faith IN CHRIST. My letter was published.

[i had recently left the Anglican church, & been baptised as a believer.]

:amen:AMEN brother . I do believe the Orthodox,Roman Catholic,Protestant etc. are just names Satan uses to start arguements to get the believers minds and hearts off the subject they should have it on .. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST . While we should have a basic understanding of these words , I think they tend to get us caught away from our ministry we are called too.
    In His name
  15. :clapping: Just want to THANK THE LORD for His patient faithful mercies to us ! I recently found this site and it has been a tremendous help and blessing to me in the few days I`ve been on here . PRAISE THE LORD ! Ps. 149:1 :icon_pray: :amen Also , I `d like to praise Him for His precise chastisement and guidance in our lives. Back in May of 09 I came down with severely herniated disc in my lower back. Causing a spinal cord injury and internal damage and leg and foot damage that will not permit me to go back to work. Surgeon says one more day and I would have been paralysed from the waist down . POINT : Only the Lord is merciful enough to allow us to go through things just to the point we can endure. Then in His merciful judgement releases us from it . Praise again to the LORD OF LORDS AND KING OF KINGS .:amen: May God bless

  16. No, it is located in CA. You can look up their church online. They are a KJVO IFB church.

Oh, THANK YOU MAM ! The reason I asked is because I know of one in Lancaster ,Oh. But not familiar with it .
Its SO good to hear of KJVO AND IFB churchs around the country . So many are compromising these basic scriptural principles. IT HURTS .
    GOD BLESS YA`LL RICHLY
  17. Wow ! After reading amblivions post on the westboro church I looked it up ! Ya know what ? I have NEVER seen ANYTHING good come from a ``tulip`` church . I accidentally got involved with one of these calvinist churches after visiting it believing the sign outside which read Independent Fundamental Baptist Church . Now let me warn ALL readers, after listening to a few messages MY whole family realized this wasnt the place for us ! They put on airs and come across as loving or try to but underneath is a seething caldron of hate in their hearts much like I saw in the clip amblivion had !
After talking to an old IFB preacher friend of mine I asked him about calvnism and all he would say was RUN FROM IT ! I wholeheartedly agree !
