  1. Okay. I am mistaken and I apologize, sister. I got the idea from the thread that I posted on the "rapture", then quickly closed b/c some of the other members including Ukelelemike commented in the thread, when I asked them not to. I got the wrong impression from your post in that thread. I shouldn't have assumed that. I haven't studied the rapture for years, and the reason I posted that thread was to help a Christian friend on Facebook. I was looking for scriptures for her as she has come to the conclusion that the church won't go through the Tribulation. She is one of my non-denominational friends in Christ who is leaning towards joining the IFB. Again, my sincere apologies.
  2. ^^^^^ That is the beauty of being IFB. My personal pet peeve, is that the dress standard is always focused on women. The women in my church always dress modestly. However, the men look like slOBs some of the time. Women wear dresses or skirts to Wednesday night Bible studies, yet some of the men wear jeans and a t-shirt? How hard is it for a man to wear a pair of khakis, a nice button down shirt and a tie to Bible study? I live in in the land of Muslims. I look at the Shi'ite Muslim women dressed in their black burkas, with only their eyes showing and their husbands look like they just rolled out of bed, with holes in their jeans and t-shirts. Down in Amish Country the Mennonite women wear dresses to their ankles, have their hair in a bonnet, with white soaks and tennis shoes on, while their husbands look like some of the sloppy IFB men and the Muslim men. Why is it that these threads are always focused on women's attire? I am certain that many OB members think I am a liberal woman as my hair is just past shoulder length. I wear lipstick, too. Oh, my! Well, if the barn door needs painting, then paint it. I wear very little makeup, and the makeup I do wear is Mary Kay, as she was a born again Christian. Anyhoo, if you knew my hubby, you would know that this is so far from the truth. He is a stubborn Hungarian man that stays true to his convictions. I have never been the spiritual leader of my home. I wouldn't even want the jOB. Truth being, I have had my hair long and it is all over the place. It takes hours to groom. Conviction is key here. I try not to take the inventory of other people - that one is for you, SFIC I have enough to work on in my own life than to be concerned about what other women wear. We answer to Jesus Christ, our husbands - if we are married, and I also answer to my pastor and his wife.
  3. John, the only reason I posted articles from the Huffington Post is b/c I know Covenanter is a liberal. I did that in hopes that he would read them. Surely, you know me by now. If someone sent me a subscription to the Huffington Post, I would use it as toilet paper. I couldn't agree with you more about nations regarding religion and politics. It is Biblical and very complicated at that. I don't understand why we are talking about Israel and fruit trees. What Israel decides in none of anyone else's business. The Knesset (which is secular) decides what goes on in the nation of Israel. America and Great Britain cannot even govern their own nations, much less Israel. Both nations have enough of their own prOBlems, to be criticizing the business of Israel. I can also see why the IDF cut them down, as well.
  4. Covenanter, the Israelis do not have one point of view. If you know any Jews, you will find this to be fact. This article is very biased and clearly shows one side of the story. The liberal media is just spewing it's nonsense once again. Sadly, you buy into it hook, line and sinker. BTW, have you read the articles I posted from the Huffington post, on these Rabbis?
  5. I could be mistaken, but Salyan doesn't believe in a pre-trib rapture, Dr. Ach. If I am wrong, please correct me Salyan.
  6. I will wait patiently for you to post what you have said to Covenanter, Dr. Ach. I have time.
  7. Bravo, brothers! Once again, I am out of "likes" but I couldn't agree more with what both of you said.
  8. It will be well worth your while, Mountain Christian, to read Dr. Ach's posts. I have read some of what he posted to Covenanter, and I am looking forward to reading the other posts, before I came back to OB. Just hang in there, MC.
  9. I am looking forward to viewing those posts, Dr. Ach.
  10. A shorter video of life in Gaza. Oh, if only starving Americans had it so good. I am friends with a young man from Iran on Facebook. He is Muslim by birth, but an Atheist by choice. He calls the "Palestinians" the "Arabian Angels." http://search.tb.ask.com/search/video.jhtml?searchfor=pierre%20rehov%27s%20videos%20on%20the%20palestinians&cb=9N&freeShipping=&p2=^9N^xdm003^YYA^us&sortOrder=&categoryId=&n=780bd792&qid=2bb48a3f83134c4c97dba7d2d2ddb18d&ptb=2B64129C-BE73-48A6-B3BC-8B043ED640F8&ct=PN&si=CK33hpXf770CFZRr7AodIngAaQ&pg=video&ots=1401992461393&pn=3&ss=sub&st=bar&filter=&tpr=hst Gaza O Gaza! So Much Misery." It is the first video on the page.
  11. That is the point, Covenanter. It is scripture that speaks for itself. Your view of Replacement Theology is in error. I don't know how you or anyone else, for that matter, can read the Books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation and come to that conclusion. Also, many people have tried to show you through the word of God that what happens in Revelation has not occurred yet. I don't have a prOBlem with a label. What I do find is that your theology does not line up with the word of God. As I pointed out in another thread, I do realize that it is your theology that has molded and shaped you. However, you seem to have no desire to want to learn what others are trying to tell you through what the Bible clearly states as truth.
  12. While I agree that Covenanter's views on the Jews is a result of his theology, many on this board have tried to explain through scripture on why he is wrong in his thinking. It has been pointed out so many times, that I want to say, Ad Naseum. I posted a wonderful, factual video, this morning on the Jew/"Palestinian" conflict. Covenanter conveniently passed looking it over. I posted another article months ago, and Covenanter never responded to that, either. Could it be that he doesn't want to know the truth? "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." ~ Genesis 12:2-3 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces." ~ Psalm 122:6-7
  13. My pastor says that IFB's should have the skin of a Rhinoceros. When I first came on OB, I didn't as my mom was passing away. That is not an excuse, rather an explanation.
  14. Are you addressing me, Salyan? What language? The Lord Jesus Christ took my foul mouth from me before I was saved. Please show me where I am in err? Rabbi Arthur Waskow is another liberal Jew. I found several articles on him. I don't put any faith in anything this man has to say. He is the Jewish equivalent of being ecumenical. Sounds like Rome to me. Below is another one from the Huffington Post. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rabbi-arthur-waskow/
  15. Yes, they are monotheistic Salyan. They have no idea that the God of Abraham, Isaac and JacOB is Jesus Christ. They are blind like any lost person is. It is still our jOB, as Christians, to fulfill the "Great Commission". And, that would mean to take the gospel to the Jews, too. It can be done.
  16. Ha! I found several articles on Rabbi Brant Rosen's stance. He is all over the Internet. When I read about J-Street, that told me all I needed to know about this Rabbi. Many Jews would consider him a self-hating Jew. No wonder you like him, Covenanter. He isn't a Charedi Jew, he is as liberal as they come. I wouldn't even call him a Reform Jew. He is one of those Jews who sides with the "Pals" and is proud of it. I have come across these types on Facebook. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rabbi-brant-rosen/alan-dershowitz-and-the-p_b_572645.html
  17. I took several courses in a Bible institute several years ago. The Book of Hebrews is my favorite, along with John and Romans. I simply do not understand why Christians have a hard time grasping this book. I have met many charismatics that have prOBlems understanding Hebrews. I have tried to explain, but I don't know if they understood, as they constantly harped on many things addressed in this beautiful book.
  18. There are several sects of Judaism, Covenanter. I suspect this Rabbi is Charedi. They are extremists who don't allow their children to serve in the IDF. They also make nice with Ahmajinedad. They meet him, shake his hand and kiss him on the cheek. Charedi Jewish men believe the Muslims should have control of Israel until Mashiach (Messiah) comes. They are frowned on by other religious Jews. I question your source, and would need more information on this Rabbi. BTW, my son and step-daughter have two trees in their name growing in Israel. They are blooming after they were planted over 23 years ago, when my son was born.
  19. You're most welcome, Linda. Yes, it is quite good and is fact not fiction. I only wish that the Jewish naysayers would watch this video and let the truth penetrate their hearts. However, I am not one to force the Holy Spirit on someone who believes the Jews are terrible terrorists and the "Palestinians" are such a peaceful people.
  20. Amen, brother:) "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." ~ Proverbs 15:1
  21. I understand what you are saying, Jeffrey. Unfortunately there are women like you describe in your second sentence, in the church. I have seen it happen with a couple of women in my church. Women like this do not allow their husbands to lead the home. Although, I must say that no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Maybe, these women appeared tough b/c their husbands lacked spiritual leadership. I dunno. While I support wearing my Sunday best to church, I have never and will never tell a woman what to wear to service. However, if they look like a street walker, I will gently let them know they should dress more modestly. I worked the bus ministry and homeless ministry for 4 years in an IFB church. Many of the women simply did not have dresses or skirts to wear to church. A few of them asked me if I could gather nice clothes for them to wear, but many did not. In that situation, I would be an example for them. Leading by example is what worked in my situation.
  22. Note: The "Palestinians" are used as pawns by Muslim nations.
  23. **Correction To My Post** There is another member that is an anti-semite; however, he came to OB later and I have not posted anything on the poor "Palestinians" since he arrived. He believes the Jews don't worship God. The Jews are worshiping the God of Abraham, Isaac and JacOB, although they are blind to the fact that Jesus is God. It is our jOB as born again Christians (The Great Commission) to plant seeds to the lost and hopefully win them to the Lord. That would include the Jews, as well. With the horrible attitude by these two members regarding the Jews, I don't see any Jew coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ on OB. This is a very sad reality.
  24. With respect Arbo, there are two mods on OB who do not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. They are also IFB. RT causes all kinds of prOBlems with eschatology and confuses onlookers who hold to a pre-trib rapture. These are the folks I have met on Facebook. They are non-denominational and are heading towards becoming an IFB; however, they are highly confused by the mods and other members who promote a non pre-trib rapture. Just stating a fact... Years ago, on this site, this was not a prOBlem. However, since I came back in OctOBer, 2013 after several years, this site doesn't hold to the widely held belief of a pre-trib rapture and promotes Replacement Theology. One member is an anti-semite no matter how one looks at it. He supports the "Palestinians." I have posted a thread on this and got no response from him. I know Jews who have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, but will not recommend this site to them, either, b/c of this false doctrine. FYI, God gave the deed to the land of Israel to the Jews not the "Palestinians."
