Wilchbla got a reaction from HappyChristian in Remarriage
Interestingly, my older brother was saved at a fairly young age (14) when a guy came to his junior high school, put on a karate demonstration and then presented the gospel afterwards (yes, this actually use to happen in public schools years ago) but he never was discipled or grounded in the faith. It's fifteen years later and he marries a divorced Jewish woman who ends up getting saved around two years into their marriage and of course this led to my brother getting into church and being grounded in the faith. I'm pretty sure God forgave their" wicked adulterous relationship" and never expected my brother's wife to leave him and go back to her unsaved ex husband so she wouldn't have "two living husbands".

I'm amazed how you heretics have been allowed to hijacked this alleged IFB site. No, wait, I'm not amazed. Happens all the time.

"We Christians are the real Jews". "The tribulation occurred in the 60ADs". "The church has replaced Israel". "All of Matthew 24 was fulfilled before 70AD". etc etc All papist rubbish that has led to a millenia of wars and bloodshed.

The bible is nothing but a dead book relegated to the past to be allegorized to fit whatever way you want it to fit. Very shakey ground to stand on.

You folks better check your hearts.

Wilchbla got a reaction from Brother Rick in Two Kingdoms?
The fact that Matthew's gospel focused in on the coming, literal, phyisical Davidic, Abrahamic kingdom promised to the Jews and that the term "kingdom of heaven" is used exclusively in Matthews gospel then I would say there is a difference between the two. Although in some sense they are overlapping. You can't get into the kingdom of heaven(physical) without getting into the kingdom of God (spiritual) first.

Wilchbla got a reaction from KAT in Are Pastoral Disqualifications Permanent?
This "husband of two wives" thing is crazy. I know of a Christian man who wanted to be a pastor but was told by a pastor that he would have to leave his saved wife whom he married not too long after being saved and go back to his unsaved wife he was married to while he was unsaved. If not then he was disqualified because he had "two living wives".

The passage is clearly about polygamy.

The gifts and callings of God are without repentance. If God calls a man to the pastorate then he is a pastor no matter what and this can't be taken away. He may place himself in a difficult position to be a pastor through certain behavior though. If a group of people don't care if the man was divorced and they want him as their pastor then he should be their pastor no matter what some IFB pharisee says.

The "qualifications" which Paul spoke of were qualifications before society NOT God.

Those people need to be oppressed. The best thing is for a dictator to rule them with an iron fist. Why? Because what the "people" want in Egypt is another radical Islamic theocracy. Even Israel is concerned that Mubarak will be toppled because he is their only friend in theregion. Americans need to quit this thinking that these people over there want a democratic government that resembles ours. They don't. Watch Iran annex a willing Iraq as soon as we pull out.

The "young people" supposedly wanted democracy in Iraq also. This was the bull fed to Bush and he swallowed it. The future will tell that all we have done in the Middle East is help establish radical Islamic theocracies.
