  1. Oh?

Where do you guys come up with all this? Cerntainly not the Word of God.

Christians are not required to give 10% of their money to support missionaries.

The Biblical tithe was not used to support missionaries, Abrams tithe of the spoils of war were not to support missionaries.

You know, the Word of God isn't a book you can add to any time you think something needs to be changed.

I think you are taking this to the extreme like you do with your position that people can't be saved from other versions of the bible.

It is the responsiblilty of the church to support their missionaries. We send them out we should help them out. The Mormons seem to have no problem with this. Maybe that's why they are growing while bible believing churches are shrinking.

I just can't fathom how you can't see this.

  2. Christians don't laugh?

Calvinists don't laugh. How can you find anything funny with that belief? Unless you are a member of Westboro Baptist who literally have laughing sessions over people going to hell.

  3. Herod's temple was the third temple. It wasn't completed in Christ's time. It was only completed during the reign of nero, shortly before it was destroyed.

Herod's temple was not the third temple. It was a renovation of the second. The temple would have to be completely destroyed to be a third one.

  4. I don't know why God wants a temple on earth. Revelation 21:22 indicates that there will be no temple in the New Jerusalem because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

The New Jersualem won't be on earth. It will be above the earth and apparently will replace the sun. Also, the New Jerusalem will be strictly the abode of the bride of the Lamb (i.e. the church). There will still be people (Jews and Gentiles) and a Jerusalem on earth.
  5. I think there's a fifth interpretation which would be the historical application in that it was already fulfilled when the temple was rebuilt by Zerubbabel. This may be a stretch though.

If anything I would say it has to do with a future temple in Jerusalem.

  6. I know the word tithe mean "a tenth" but didn't the Israelites actually give around 28% of their increase and this did this only once a year. If this is true and some of us are still intent on following the OT in these matters shouldn't we go all the way with it and follow the same model?

  7. If we're going to judge a man by who gives him money, then consider the fact that Paul gets nine times as many donations from soldiers than all other GOP candidates combined.

The troops support Ron Paul because they're tired of dying to protect people that hate us or don't appreciate it, and they're tired of us sending money to people that hate us. Why should we be taking money from people who are hurting and struggling financially in this country and give it to rich scumbags in other countries?

It's not so much his taking money from these people as is his atitude towards them. I just don't trust a man whom the Neo-Nazi's feel they can cozy up to. I don't like his position on the drugs and prostitutes either. I just don't see how a believer can support these positions. And please don't wave the Constitution in my face about it. Try waving the bible. A believer should not be supporting these things. The Constitition was for a righteous people not for a people who want to legalized every form of wickedness in the name of it. As far as the argument that Paul only wants to leave it in the hands of the state is a rogue. All libertarians are for the legalization of all drugs and prostitution. Just try watching John Stossel on FOXNews sometime. Anyway, we see how leaving it in the hands of the states is doing. The states all eventually made MLK day into an holy day and now you see the states dropping one by one to the gay marriage issue. Why people think that the state governments are so great is beyond me. Most are as messed up and in debt as the Federal gov. is. This isn't 1860 anymore.

Without a doubt Romney will get the nomination anyway so the whole agrument is moot.

  8. If America cut off all foreign aid, Israel would not need our money. Israel has said this themselves. The only reason Israel needs aid from America is because America gives millions of dollars in aid to her Arab neighbors. Israel is so far advanced beyond her neighbors that if it were not for American aid to the Arabs, Israel would have a huge advantage over her Arab neighbors on her own.

America can be friends with Israel without handing them money. According to God's Word, Israel is to be a lender, not a nation needing to take money from others.

Israel said that they wouldn't need our aid? When did they say this? And where is Israel to be a lender? In some ways the Jews are "lenders" since they do run a lot of the world's greatest banks. It seems to me that part of blessing Israel, as God said to Abraham, involves financially. I just don't understand why a believer would want us to cut Israel off unless there's something evil in his/her heart towards them.

  9. So is there several raptures then? Do some believe there will be a pre-trib, mid-trib AND post-trib raptures?

Eric, why do you say there will be five phases? Why are these phases and not simply separate events?

There were several harvests in the OT. Firstfruits, the main harvest, gleanings. This would probably be a picture of these events.

  10. Even in the liberal schools I attended as a kid I was still not arrested for drawing pictures of soldiers in battle, bringing in inert hand grenades for show-and-tell, or doing my science project on how to make napalm and fu-gas bombs! Today, my parents and I would be jailed and then run out of town.

My junior high years were a battleground. Every day I was continually bullied and was in physical altercations at least once a week. Lost count of how many pairs of glasses my Mom had to replace. Had access to guns and knives but knew right from wrong regarding that. Eventually, late in the 8th grade all the beatings and harrassment forever stopped when seven hoodlums who thought they could take me down in the locker room were found writhing on the floors by a coach as he passed row after row of lockers and eventually came to the last man standing, me!

Yes, I exploded. My anger was directed at the thugs who attacked me and nobody else. Righteous anger and self-defense. This kids actions are inexcusable unless he was nuts to begin with.

Not excusing it. But the fact remains that some people will explode if pushed too much.

Proverbs 30:33- Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.

  11. This is speaking to matters where is not a clear command. When it comes to our dealings with people we are told what sort of people to support, what sort to yoke with, and those we are to separate from and those we should not wish God speed.

Lying is one of the sins God hates. When men stand before us and boldly lie day in and day out with regards to their own records and their own plans is that someone we should support? When their own plans and policies give proof that their words are lies, should we give them our support?

When men stand before us and declare their unbiblical positions should we support them?

When men stand before us and declare their unconstitutional positions should we support them?

In this case we should vote for no one ever since they're all a bunch of liars. I'm not sure I'm ready to make that commitment. Also, don't confuse the Constitution with the bible. A lot of Christians do these.

  12. Actually, Paul is not pro-Isalm and he's not actually supported by "neo-nazis". Many candidates receive donations, typically a very few dollars, from "neo-nazi" groups (which according to best reports, there are only 2,000 or less actual semi-organized "neo-nazis") so they can try to gain some free publicity.

Bush, Hillary Clinton and many other presidential candidates have received those tiny donations from some "neo-nazi" group. Hillary took the amount she received and donated that amount to some charity. Some have called upon Paul to send the money back but as Paul says, why give them the money back so they can do something stupid with it?

The whole "neo-nazi" thing is a red herring and means nothing more with regards to Paul than it does with regards to the other candidates they donate a few bucks to for their own purposes.

Yes, Paul knowingly received money from Neo-Nazi groups and when he was asked whether he would return it he said no. Would you take money from these people? Have you ever had to deal with these people? They are scum. I'm not for the mixing of races and a white man should be as proud (or thankful) of his heritage as anybody else but these people are mostly drug dealing prison scum

  13. Does God say anywhere that the only way to be a blessing to Israel is to give them money and then boss them around because of it? No. What Ron Paul puts forth is in keeping with being a true friend. Paul's policy would untie the hands of Israel and allow them to pursue their own best interests on their own terms. That would indeed be a blessing to Israel.

I think their own best interests is to continue to have our backing. I wouldn't want to be the one to cut off support to them. I wonder how God would feel about that?

  14. Just how many raptures/resurrections will there be?

I don't agree with the previous post.

As far as I see it the church will be raptured before the seven year tribulation and then the two witnesses along with the 144,000 midway. This would be the "man child" that is caught up in Rev. 12:5 before the woman (Israel) flees into the wilderness for 3 1/2 years. The rest of those on earth have to endure until the end (i.e. the Second Coming of Christ) and avoid taking the mark.

  15. America is a Constitutional Republic and Ron Paul, despite whatever faults people may drudge up on him, is the only politician that represents that.

What about his position concerning Israel?

  16. Rick Santorum

Support for Pro-Abort Christine Todd Whitman

, CFR member and former EPA administrator (2001-2003). Governor Whitman has deep associations with radical abortion supporting groups; Republicans for Choice and The Republican Majority for Choice. In fact, Whitman is even an active proponent of partial birth abortions. In January 2008, she was named a co-chair of the globalist new age Aspen Institute's Health Stewardship Project. The former head of the , new age environmentalist Maurice Strong, has membership in the following organizations, but this does not include the entire list:

In 1997, Santorum campaigned for the abortion promoting governor of New Jersey,

He is also a long time member of the Futurist Society (which Newt Gingrich belongs to as well as Newt’s long time friends Alvin and Heidi Toffler).

    Water Policy Institute

The bottom line is...why would a so-called social conservative ever support a woman like Whitman who is anathema to Santorum's spouted beliefs? Or is she?

Support for Radical Abortionist Senator Arlen Specter

In 2001, Senator Santorum actively campaigned for pro-abort Senator Arlen Specter instead of pro-life congressman Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania. Santorum had previously endorsed Specter in his short-lived campaign for president in 1996. Specter had previously supplied Santorum with key political staff for his successful run in 1994. Specter of course changed from a left-wing Republican to a left-wing Democrat hoping to retain his seat.

Specter has never been a conservative. He served as assistant counsel for the

nominee in 1987 is seen as an important factor in the nomination's failure.

    Specter's opposition to

    Supreme CourtRobert Bork

giving the Democrats a 60th vote in the Senate when Al Franken was declared the winner in Minnesota and sworn in after court challenges in July 2009. Specter put that vote to good use casting the for cloture on Obamacare in late December 2009. Having enabled Obamacare to proceed to a full vote, Specter cast the (guaranteeing passage because Biden could cast a tie breaker).

Santorum claims he had to support Specter's Senate race because Specter was the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and could see to it that the skids were greased for President Bush's Supreme court nominees. All but 22 Democrats voted to approve Roberts.

. He voted to prohibit job discrimination based on , and was a co-sponsor of the Matthew Shepard . Specter is opposed to , but is also opposed to a federal ban and supports . Specter also voted in favor of repealing in the lame-duck session of the .

Specter voted 50% of the time with the Democrats when he was a Republican and 90% of the time when he became a Democrat. Thanks to President Bush and Santorum, Arlen Specter is responsible for giving us the draconian Obamacare legislation.

Why would "Mr. Pro-Life" strongly campaign for a rabid pro-abortion candidate against a strong pro-life candidate?

    Santorum and Planned Parenthood

Santorum Voted to Subsidize Abortion, Planned Parenthood

"Mr. Pro-life" voted to have innocent Americans placed into the PP vegi-matic laboratories and enthusiastically campaigned for pro abortion Arlen Specter against the more conservative Pat Toomey. Rick may mistakenly believe that his votes to indirectly fund Planned Parenthood can be hidden from Christians that march for life, but they can't.

Mathew 7:16-17 states, "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit."

It is not by their words, but by their actions we are to judge these politicians, and thus in effect we are to be "fruit inspectors."

Santorum threw his support behind Arlen Spectacle because pappa Bush told him to. I clearly remember the Arlen Spector deal and how it came back to bite Santorum. It eventually cost Santorum his seat in PA.
  17. No.

Gingrich is the biggest liar of the bunch. I'm surprise how easily he can sucker Christians into buying his garbage. I would vote for Obama before that chronic habitual liar. At least with Obama you know what you are getting. The Grinch will break every promise he makes. Just ask former Rep. Steve Largent. The Grinch is the consummate politician. He even looks like a caricature of one.

Paul is supported by the Neo-Nazis' and is pro-Islam. And I still don't see how legalizing prostitution and drugs will help matters in America. The man looks tired and broken down too.

Romney is a RINO. Just a white Obama to a lesser extent. The Mormon thing doesn't bother me too much unless he starts doing favors for the LDS in Salt Lake. I always ask myself though how much discernment can a man really have in leading a nation down the right path when he can't see through the crazy beliefs of Mormonism? I used to be Mormon and I know what crazy things they believe.

And what is the deal with Santorum and the Opus Dei and the Knights of Malta? That scares me. Even the guys name sounds like a Latin Mass. Apparently he harbors a disdain for Protestants too like Gov. Jindal in Louisiana does.

I'll probably vote for Romney since he'll most likely get the nomination unless someone pops up at the last minute to challenge him. But I don't think so.

  18. The Athenians weren't looking for the truth just whatever would titillate their minds. They liked to used big words and fair speeches to inflate their egos and "one up" each other. Basically what the Pharisees did with religion the philosophers of Greece did with education. If you are seeking wisdom that is the truth there is nothing wrong with that. I don't believe God wants a bunch of dumbells.

  19. That's what I said. Since you say the rapture couldn't be near because there was no Israel, that means there could not have been any possibility of an imminent return of Christ prior to 1948.

This reminds me of those who said the restoration of the nation of Israel in 1948 meant that Christ would return no later than 1968 because of prophecy, as they read it, concerning ther restoration of Israel and one generation. When Christ didn't return by 1968 but Israel did capture Jerusalem in war, they decided that Christ would return no later than 1988, another generation, this one from the time Israel controlled Jerursalem. When Christ again didn't return as their interpretation of prophecy indicated, they once again came up with a new view.

Similar has happened throughout history, with virtually every generation pointing to something that was occuring in their time to be proof the coming of Christ and end of the world were near...the black death, freak weather in early America, the Dust Bowl in America, WWII, etc.

I mentioned this before to you. The generation that shall not pass is the generation on earth when the tribulation begins. Anotherwards, that generation won't be wiped out before Christ returns. The reason they keep messing this up with the 1948 stuff is they think Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 was a fulfillment of prophecy which it isn't.
  20. I've read these chapters plenty and still can't figure them out. Seems to me that the events concerning God and Magog occur after the 1,000 year reign of Christ yet in these chapters the battle seems to take place before the millenial reign. Who knows. All I know is much bigger problems in my life to be concerned about then banging my head on the wall trying to make head or tails over this stuff.
