  1. Here's the gospel that we preach. It's the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

    I Corinthians 15:1-8

    [1] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
    [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    [5] And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
    [6] After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
    [7] After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
    [8] And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
    [9] For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

  2. Vicar of Christ or Pope doens't appear in the bible either yet they don't seem to have a problem with this.

    I put up a post a while back where The History Channel had a 2 hr special on finding the Ark of the Covenant. It turned out according to their expert that the ark was a wooden bowl located in Zimbabwe and the lost tribes of Israel were a black tribe located in that country. Two hrs wasted watching this rubbish.

  3. The apocrypha was added as recommended, but unispired, reading between the two testaments of the KJV. The apocrypha was added within the text of the Vaticanus manuscript. Of course, this is the Catholic text that all the new versions of the bible are based on. There is a big difference between being added between the testaments as recommended reading and being added within the text as inspired scripture.

  4. On one occassion I do know of a fuel system cleaner that did make a difference. Sea Foam is some good stuff. If you look at the ingredients on all the different carb cleaners,etc. they are pretty much the same chemicals.

    I'll tell you what is a scam. All the different shampoos with all the herbal additives and that. It's all nonsense. Even Consumer Reports had an article on this. The cheapest shampoos wash just as good as the expensive ones. All that junk they add just washes out of you hair and doesn't do anything.

  5. Two of my nephews are cops in the Roanoke, VA police dept. They told me it is true that there is a quota.

    I know when I work in Corrections the policy was the more tickets you wrote the bigger raise you received. I didn't write up the inmates too often because, to be honest, they never gave me a hard time except occassionally. Why take a chance on increasing their sentence and making matters even more dangerous for me by writing up bogus tickets. I was reprimanded for this. I asked my supervisor why I should write them up if they are behaving and she told me to find something on them if I wanted a bigger raise.

  6. I have a cell phone for a few reasons:

    I need it with my job.

    I've broken down too many times out in the middle of nowhere and had to walk for miles in pitch darkness or scorching heat.

    It's cheaper than a land line phone.

    I like the text message feature. It's good to send short messages to people instead of talking to them on the phone since I don't like talking on the phone much.

  7. Well, she rubbed her forehead bloody raw trying to rub the mark of the beast off. This was before she killed her kids. Would you say that's not normal? My brother's wife,who was a new Christian at the time, said that when she was pregnant with their first child she had crazy thoughts that she was carrying the antichrist. So, a lot of this bizarre behavior with some women does seem to be associated with having children (I Tim 2:13-15).

    Also, the "hellfire and brimstone" preaching was done by some kind of Charismatic/Catholic/Non-Denominational minister who was out there in left field with his own thing going. So what he said may have pushed this unstable woman over the edge. Plus, I believe her husband was involved in Seventh Day Adventism. So she really could have be messed up mentally, spiritually and physcially by all this. Her husband really seemed like creep. What they call in the modern vernacular as a "media whore".

  8. Go with the Bible that has produce the most and best fruit. I can't see how you can argue against the KJV in this department. There has to come a time when you settle on some version of the bible, any version, and tell yourself this is the word of God without error. As far as I know that only bible that anyone claims this of is the KJV. If you don't get this settled in your heart and allow every theological and linguistic argument throw you off course and bring doubt in your heart you will never be stablished in the faith. You can't look back at men like John R. Rice and such and say "well, they didn't believe that the KJV was without error" and they turned out to be good, godly men. That was a different time and era and the purity of bible was not being attacked as it is today especially by Christian scholars themselves. Arguements like, "Where was the pure word of God before 1611?" or "What about all the revisions of the KJV? or even a question like the OP's question will only lead to more questions and an even more endless cycles of questions that will never get satisfactorly answered. Indeed, they are not asked to get answered but asked only to create doubt. It's best to just stick with the book that has proven itself for the last 400 years.

  9. Does Jesus not say to Nicodemus that unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God? John 3:5 My understanding of this would say that baptism through the water will help wash away your sins after you have agreed to repent and then the baptism of the spirit will take away the flesh and enter you into spirit.

    John 3:6 also says that which is flesh, is flesh and that which is spirit, is spirit. Once we are baptised properly I believe that we no longer walk in the flesh, instead we walk in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

    The "born of water" of John 3:5 would be our physical birth. You've heard when a pregnant woman says, "my water just broke"?

  10. Wow! "Child killer"? The guy was my age, and around my size (6' 2-3" makes you tower over most people; I know from experience). We're youths, young adults, we're not "children" in the common sense of the term. Ludicrous.

    It's amazing how people let emotion get so infused in this, thus muddying the waters. If you believe it's murder, wait and see; if you believe it's not, wait and see.
    God bless,
    Joel ><>.

    6'2" or 6'3"? Wow. Notice just about every picture the media shows he's a smaller kid? Some of them he looks around 10 or so. Apparently he was big enough to get on top of Zimmerman and pound on him. Of course, I believe this should be investigated but it's still hypocritical to call this out like they have while ignoring all the shootings in Chicago. They say that us whiteys ignore all the crime in the black neighborhoods when in reality they do. What is Sharpton's and Jackson's answer for this? Call for the lynching (kind of ironic, huh?) of Zimmerman and call for more money to be dumped into Southside Chicago. Neither solving anything.

  11. As stated above - The term fornication is a general term and can be used inside and outside of marriage. Fornication can also speak of homosexuality and sins with animals, etc. None of that changes how the passage is interpreted. I have give a clear exposition of the passage. Christ is making it clear that there is no Divorce in God's eyes.

    Then why are the terms used seperately in these verses?

    Mark 7:21- For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

    Galatians 5:19- Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

    If fornication is a general term used for sexual sins then why is it distinguished from adultery in these passages?

  12. Yes, I've heard that one years ago and I think from the same man who taught kooky stuff like children always inherit their blood from their father, Noah cursed Black people to be slaves, and angels "cohabited with women"(his words). The Bible says the Bereans searched the scriptures for themselves instead of just taking Paul's word for it. . We can feel "safe" swallowing everything we hear, never questioning anything, then when a REAL wolf in sheep's clothes with a jug of koolaid comes along, we are liable to get bitten. Once again, dig a little deeper and study what that word "fornication" actually means. Take a scripture and dig into every word, find the root meaning of it, not some man's interpretation.

    What in the world are you talking about? If you are referring to Peter Ruckman, which I'm not, then you are way off base because he doesn't teach that in this passage. I got the teaching from Charles Ryrie. He said that the passage was referring to a betrothal and not a true marriage and thus why the word "fornication" was used. The preivous verses I posted do refer to a brothed man as a husband.

    Duet. 22:23,24-

    [23] If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

    [24] Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

    Also, to "put away" can also mean killing someone though in Matthew it doesn't appear to be. Grab a concordance and check it out. To "put away" can also mean to kill someone.

    Duet. 17:12- And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.
  13. This forum has been pretty fair and balanced IMO. Beleive me, despite any of it's problems it's far better than most of them out there on the web. I've been on some that having any difference of opinion on even the slightest thing got you banned and some others that were so out of control that you would actually get reprimanded for trying to follow the rules.

  14. Blah blah blah. The bottomline is is that your Savior is doing a crummy job of reigning right now if he is. Especially in the Middle East where there is NO knowledge of God. In fact, some nations like Somalia and Afghanistan are 100% Muslim. And take a walk down the Red Light district in Amsterdam or the French Quarter in New Orleans during Mardi Gras and then tell me the devil is bound in the pit right now.

  15. There's another drug out today that is totally legal called Salvia Divinorum. It's a type of sage plant. I'm amazed this stuff is legal. Anyone can go into a herbal store and buy the stuff. There's a ton of video on Youtube showing people who are on it.

    Check it out and explain to me why this is legal.

  16. Did you know that over St. Patrick's Day weekend there were 49 black on black shootings in the southside of Chicago with twelve deaths and not once did you hear a peep out of the Rev. Al Dullton or Jesse "High Five" Jackson? I guess none of those young men and children reminded Obama (who did all of his community work in the southside of Chicago) of his own children.

  17. I believe Jesus is presently reigning - King of kings & Lord of lords.

    In Rev. 20 the 1,000 year reign, John sees the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. These are dead believers - they've experienced the first resurrection - conversion (John 5:24 ff) - and are awaiting the bodily resurrection. (1 Thes. 4)

    Christ is reigning now, during the present "millennium" with his saints in glory. The concept of a future millennium, where Jesus again lives on earth with the ungodly, & presides over a temple where animal sacrifices for sin are offered acceptably is totally foreign to the NT. As for his glorious reign on earth being such a failure that the whole population turn against him - it's a monstrous lie.

    This is ludicrous. Christ reigning with his saints in glory? You must think Satan, the antichrist and false prophet are bound in the pit also? How can you honestly believe this silly nonsense? If Christ and the saints are reigning now (and boy does that sound popish) then what are they reigning over? Surely not over the kingdoms of this world. Where's the "mountain of the Lord" where the knowledge of God is spread from sea to sea and nobody needs to be taught? Yeah, sure. Christ and the saints are really reigning in the Middle East right now aren't they? If Christ is reigning now he sure is doing a lousy job of it.

  18. So If Mom is having an affair, according to you, it's OK to "separate" from her? But what does Jesus say in Matthew 5:32? He says you cause her to commit adultery when you even PUT AWAY your wife AKA "separate". Matthew5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Now, I intentionally left out a clause from that verse, can you tell me what that clause is? Here it is: saving for the cause of fornication

    There is an argument that in Matthew 5:32 the "wife" is really an espoused wife and not one who has actually consummated the marriage. This is why Jesus said "saving for the cause of fornication" and not "saving for the cause of adultery" since being betrothed was almost the same as being married in ancient Israel.
    Duet. 22:23,24.
