  1. The "blood comes from the father" teaching was started, I believe, by Martin DeHann Sr. who was a medical doctor. At that time it was the common belief in the medical community that the blood only came from the father.

  2. I think the reference to 'Jesus cookie' was referring to the wafer used in the Catholic mass - which they believe and teach is the actual body of Christ being consumed as part of his 're-sacrifice' in the 'perpetual offering of the mass.' The mass is NOT the same as communion - it is a blasphemous corruption of the Lord's supper that spits in the face of His once-for-all offering of Himself on the cross. Probably that's what Wilchbla was thinking about...? ;)

Yes,this is what I was referring to. Many former Catholics that I know who have been born again call it the "Jesus cookie". This is where I picked the term up.

  3. I think the best option for a biblical education is a local Bible institute. I have friends that went to some of the big Bible colleges and they say that they are over-priced. Someone could leave there in a lot of debt. Same friends say that you learn more actual Bible doctrine by going to a local Bible institute.

I went to a local Bible institute and I'm not saying I'm smarter than anyone else, but I was able to work a job during the day and go to class at night and left the school with no debt. It cost $300 a semester, not the thousands of dollars that the big schools cost.

I graduated Bible school, bought my first house, and married my wife all within the same two week period. I don't think that could have happened if I was going to a big school.

Everyone is different and God leads people in different directions, but I think the best choice is a local Bible Institute if there's one around. We have people come from all over the country to go to ours.

I agree. Bible institutes are usually more affordable and people who have other responsibilites like a job or family can attend them. This makes them more available for older folks too. A Bible institute is at or near the local church is even better. Something about studying the word of God at your local church seems better than studying it in another city or state at a school. Don't ask me why. I really believe that churches should be training and teaching those called at their church instead of sending them off to school. Just my opinion.
  4. Christmas to me is a time to get together with family and it's a day full of good memories. Not once have I worshipped Saturn, thrown a yule log under a tree to receive gifts from Woden or swallowed a "Jesus cookie" (i.e. Eucharist) on that day nor do I intend to. It's also a good time to talk to people about the Lord Jesus Christ who at other times of the year might not be open to it.

  5. I once attended a church that said you couldn't be a Christian if you drove an automatic transmission equipped car. Another church said if a woman ever cut her hair, she wasn't saved. Several taught (especially during the hippie years) that if a guy's hair touched his ears, he was going to hell. A church in the Chicago area once split into 2 camps, and finally into 2 separate buildings, over whether Adam and Eve had navels (belly buttons) or not. One church taught unless your Bible was black, it wasn't proper and the owner was in sin. It goes on and on.
Maybe people should be more concerned with addressing and obeying what the Bible says, verbatim, rather than making up a bunch of man made doctrine.
At least the woman was honest about her attachment to trousers, rather than hiding it. Personally, I am thankful for that. I also think it seems like "a small price to pay" to serve, but if someone is going to be part of an organization, whether it be a church or business or anything else, the rules and demands should be followed. If it is against the Bible, go somewhere else.
Priorities change. When you are hungry, eating is usaually a priority. If you are trying to lose weight, maybe not eating is a priority. I hope she doesn't regret her decision later.

Sounds like you attended a Holiness church. A friend of mine used to be involved in that denomination and they had some extreme teachings. "No hose, no toes and no shows" was on of them. If a woman wore pantyhose she was going to hell. If a woman wore shoes that exposed their toes she was going to hell. And if anyone watched any movies or TV they were going to hell. Women also could never cut their hair or wear shirts with sleeves shorter than three quarters length of the arms. Yet at the same time his church had two woman pastors who would preach AT THE SAME TIME during Sunday service screaming over each other.
  6. I never have any ladies hit on me and I'm not married. A lot of this has to do with the fact that I hardly ever go anyplace and I work nights primarily alone. In my life I've probably have had more men hit on me then women. When I was younger this was very disconcerting to me and made me think "what's up?" until I found out that this is common for a lot of men. Even my brother said this was a common experience for him and he even had his doctor come on to him once and the doctor claimed to be a Christian and was a deacon of his Baptist church at one time. I think married men actually get flirted with by women more than unmarried men do.

If you start talking about God or about your spouse they usually will get the message and leave you alone.

  7. I don't know about most faithful, but I know the Reformed Baptist church closest to this area is the most soul winning church around. They have folks out soul winning constantly and the people from that church pass out tracts everywhere. Their church has grown well too with so many coming to Christ in that area.

Exceptions prove the rule. Usually when Calvinism creeps into a church that's the end of it. You do have more moderate forms like Dr. James Kennedy and his "evangelism explosion" but, like I said, exceptions prove the rule. I use to attend Regular Baptist churches who are moderate Calvinists and some of the churches tried to reach the lost and some of them left it up to God to overcome them with his "irresistable grace".

  8. So you agree with my first point, which was: "Firstly, evolutionists claim that speciation happens over many many more generations than people have been breeding dogs."

    Serious as a heart attack.

Even if a man DOESN'T try to get a cat from a dog while breeding you can guarantee it will no more happen if he tries to get a cat from a dog.

Evolutionists depend on time like we depend on God. They hide behind millions and billions of years to prove their god which of course can't be proved unless you can go back 4 billion years ago and watch everything "evolve" from a pool of scum.

  9. Take the Liger for instance. In the wild tigers and lions don't mate. Even in captivity it's rare and in some of those rare cases zookeepers "helped" the process artificially in order to get a Liger. Likely as not, without man's interference, the tiger and lion would never mate, never bring about a variety known as the Liger. In the same way, without man's interference, it's likey the weiner dog would have never come about.

    .

Also, those who have bred the Liger say they wouldn't survive in the wild because they are too large.
  10. The sodomites are turning everyone into homosexuals.

Timothy 1:15- Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
I remember a few years back when I was browsing the magazine section at Barnes and Nobles there was a magazine for gays (not a porn but a lifestyle magazine) that I took a look at to see what they had to say. An article in there claimed that George Washington and Alexander Hamilton were both gay and of course Jesus most likely was gay also. I can't remember the reasons they gave for their conclusions but this just proved what Paul said in I Timothy 1:15. In these peoples minds anyone who opposes the gay lifestyle, never had kids or was never married (or happily married) is secretly gay themselves.

  11. That statement makes him the infidel. The Scriptures are clear that the sword of justice is for government and not the churches.

You get around this like all the Popes and John Calvin did. You say that the church is the kingdom of heaven and because of this all the kingdoms of the world fall under the authority and control of the church. Then you can proceed to use the government to butcher in the name of Christ.

  12. Secondly, dog breeders have been attempting to produce...dogs. So even if a cat could come from a dog, we wouldn't expect dog breeders to come up with one.

    Are you serious here?

The god of evolution is time. They need millions and billions of it to prove their claims.
  13. I just checked up on the status of this pastor in Iran and apparently the Iranian government is now saying he is being put to death for rape and extortion although the court transcript only makes mention of apostasy. Also, I guess they haven't put him to death yet. Most likely they'll wait awhile until everyone forgets about it then they chop his head off.

Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. Hadith- Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57)

  14. They're gonna tear Cain apart when it comes to gays and Muslims

I agree. This is why he'll never get the nomination and why we'll never have the right man in office. The problem with America is not financial it is spiritual and America has abandoned that area a long time ago. The money problems comes from America's spiritual problems IMO so look for a continued downslide.

  15. Do infants who die before trusting Christ go to heaven?

    Hmmmm....

Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up. (Ho 13:16)

In God's judgment above, He declared that the infants would be 'dashed into pieces.'

Why dash the infants to pieces if they are innocent? Makes one wonder.

Are infants capable of trusting Christ? I believe it is possible... if they are brought up in the right environment; i.e., Church, godly home, etc..

Psalm 22 has an interesting statement:

But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. (Ps 22:9)

I am not totally convinced that infants who die all go to heaven. I believe there is evidence that they too, like us, have an opportunity to trust Christ and be saved.

So you think hell is populated with babies?
