  1. Hi, I live in MI too. Way up in the UP eh? I am IFB too. Lot of good IFB churches around. Just have to look for them. Any good radio stations down there? Grace Baptist College in Gaylord has a really good one. You can find them online. I haven't been on in a while myself. Welcome

  2. This is going to sound crazy, but my oldest son picked a skunk up by the tail and tossed it in a field and it ran away. If you corner it and grab it's tail really quick it cannot spray. The muscles on its backside cannot flex to allow it to spray. He met me at the driveway one night holding a live skunk by the tail as proof. We have chickens and it was trying to get to them. If the skunk is cornered it does not turn around. We sicked our dogs on one, one time and all we did was wind up with a stinky dog for several weeks. Tomato juice only works so well.

    Good Luck!!

  3. Alot of people would have to become a born again American, because alot of people seem to have forgotten what an American is and the fundemental principles this country was founded on. But that is the plan anyway isn't it. Was it OBama that said the founding fathers are outdated. Kind of like when people say the bible doctrines are for people back then and doesn't relate to now, so we need all these new versions to corrupt what God has given to help us learn how to live. If people can't read KJV than they should have flunked English in school reading Shakespeare. But most people can read that and understand it.

    From Alimantado:

I do not know how to pick out a certain part of your post and "quote" on it, so I will just tell what I am responding to. You wonder if you are taking God's glory to praise those who work for him. He still gets the glory, because it is Him that strenghthens us and give us boldness to witness to him. It also edifys and uplifts the brethren, which we are supposed to do. It is nice to know the effort the brethren put forth comes to fruitation. Sometimes we never know. Sometimes we do. You will find that out. So its nice when someone says something, although I had nothing to do with you up until now. I have been off for awhile and do not come on all the time.
I am greatful to God that he never gave up on you. He knew you would eventually accept Him. That's why he didn't. Likely He tried hard because of your quandry. He knew it was important enough for you do be sure. He already has plans for you. I pray you grow in wisdon and understanding in the Lord quickly. The more brethren the better. Time is running short.
  5. Don't even get me started on this one again. Picture Jesus sitting in the temple and listening to the harps, lyre, psaltry and what, electric guitars, snare drums????? Coming in the clouds with a jamming rock beat or with the trumpet of Gabriel???
Doesn't matter if this is a different age. It isn't a different Jesus.

  6. Tribulations, troubles, and persecutions can come to Christians, severe persecution may even come one day to Christians in America, but church age believers are certainly never going to go through the great tribulation.

Agree. Examples are all through the bible (New and Old). God always takes His people out before destruction comes if they repent. Yes he does let us go through hard trials and some of us even unto death. But not the main Trib.
  7. Just wanted to update. The children's dad would not change the visits to days that would allow my children to go to church. He even shorted himself some hours with the children that I offered him so I couldn't have the children in church on Wed. They are going to miss most of the Kings Kids they are in on Wednesday nights because he gets them 5-8. I offered him all afternoon so the children could go to church at night and he refused. The court went with most of the standard Friend of the Court schedule which does not accomidate church anymore like most sports and events around the town. I am greatful that several people from my church showed up in court to support me, though it did not seem to work at the time.
I still have much faith and trust in God though I do not understand alot of what is going on. I have seen some prayers answered as a direct result of the decision. I am very greatful for God's work in this situation. As I asked before, I want to pray that God's will is done, not mine. I still pray for the children's dad and other 1/2 brothers and sisters. I am seeing some results there too. Some appear to be changing. Some are not or are getting harder hearted. Only God knows.
Thank you for your prayers in this situation. We are also praying for revival at our church and this situation and a few others seem directly related. It appears to be getting ready to happen, but a few changes still in people still need to take place. Where we live is a tough place. Jesus is not put first here. He is shoved out of the schools, sports events, most stores. The church I am in is by testimony I hear from people around town, is the most convicting church/preacher in town. They say "Isn't that the church with all the rules." or "Aren't they kind of strict." When people say these things and I just smile and say "That is what I have been looking for, for a long time."

    May God get the glory

  8. Long time no see. I am just requesting prayer for many things lately. I am in a battle for the godly raising of my children. I need to stand strong and let God take control. It is hard when you know he's working in your life and people you pray for, but you don't know what the outcome is or how he is working. I am pretty much going by blind faith. I have no choice. I can do nothing else and the heart of another person seems to be getting harder.
Also pray for the outcome of a meeting on Monday. That God is in control and will protect His own.

    Thank you very much.

  9. Agree with Madeline. Pray.
Phil 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which stregtheneth me.

Don't try to do it in your own power. Give it over to God and get out of the way and let Him do the work. I've learned to do that and it is amazing what He can do....

  10. If a woman works outside the home, who takes care of her children? Is she in God's will if someone else takes care of the children? Why have them if you do nOT have the time to care for them. Women alOT of the time have jobs outside the home for extra money. Do you really need the extra stuff. Stuff is cheap and you can get it anywhere. What about your kids.
I have done bOTh, work outside the home and stay at home or have a business at home. I have seen the results and would pick staying at home in a heartbeat.
Maybe my opinion will get me in trouble too, but it is nOT really opinion. The Proverbs 31 women helped provide for her household, but my guess is her children were involved with it as well. She made the things she wanted to sell at home and only went to the market place to sell them.

  11. I praise God for His son Jesus Christ. I praise His for strength in trials. I praise Him for His truth, justice, prOTection and boldness to be a witness for Him. I praise Him for His discernment, wisdom and understanding he bestows upon me.

  12. I do nOT like the current administration, but this pastor is nOT doing God's will right now. He is supposed to be praying for Obama yes, but nOT for his death and hell. He is supposed to be praying that God gets a hold of his heart.
This man is making anyone else serving the Lord and conservative look bad. He lost his testimony in my eyes. It does nOT show his whole sermon though. Maybe something taken out of context? To much hate. There is enough in this world without it getting to us.....

The following has been cut and pasted from FOX NEWS today:

A Phoenix-area pastor has started to draw prOTesters to his congregation after he delivered a sermon titled, "Why I Hate Barack Obama," and told his parishioners that he prays for President Obama's death.

Pastor Steven Anderson stood by his sermon in an interview with MyFOXPhoenix, which reports that the pastor continues to encourage his parishioners to join him in praying for the president's death.

"I hope that God strikes Barack Obama with brain cancer so he can die like Ted Kennedy and I hope it happens today," he told MyFOXPhoenix on Sunday. He called his message "spiritual warfare" and said he does nOT condone killing.

But a small crowd of prOTesters gathered around his church Sunday, calling Anderson's words "incomprehensible." And MyFOXPhoenix reported that the sermon, which has drawn widespread attention, led to death threats against the pastor.

Anderson's inflammatory message stems in part from Obama's abortion-rights stance.

In Anderson's controversial sermon, delivered at his Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe before Obama arrived for a speech in Phoenix earlier in the month, the pastor said he wants the president to "melt like a snail" with salt on it.

"I'm gonna pray that he dies and goes to hell when I go to bed tonight. That's what I'm gonna pray," he told his congregation.

The last time fierce opposition to Obama's abortion position drew widespread attention was when Obama delivered the commencement address at the University of NOTre Dame.

The Anderson sermon also drew concern after it was reported that one man carrying an assault rifle outside the Phoenix arena where Obama spoke was a member of Anderson's church.

  13. I'm a MI resident and I don't have a problem with it as long as it doesn't affect our prison conditions (I don't want overpopulated prisons or prisoners being released) and as long as we see money and jobs from it (it costs a lOT of money to house inmates). In fact, I would much rather them be under our laws and rights than in some foreign prison somewhere. If these people are in our custody, they deserve a trial and rights like everyone else. The Bush era way of doing things (foreign prisons, custody without trial indefinitely), is completely illegal bOTh internationally and domestically. So if we have to hold on to these people, why nOT Michigan?

BTW: Most of the people there aren't terrorists. They are suspected enemy combatants. Think of them as prisoners of an undeclared war against an undeclared nation. What a mess...

I also heard that Granholm will be proposing prisoners-for-cash to the state of California (nOT sure how that's going to work since California is more broke than we are). NOT sure if there's any truth to that story though.

I've been told recently that prisoners were released and the gov't is paying for them to be put up in hOTels in the SOO....
  14. You have work (or I should say God does) ahead of you convincing a 7th dayer. They can't get rid of the sabbath or the meat thing. They can't accep the fact that we are not under the law like Galatians says, and the ceremonial laws (including the sabbath) have been nailed to the cross. We have a higher standard to live by than the Jewish law.

I am IFB not just plain Baptist, because I am led to be by the Holy Spirit. This church I go to follows the bible more closely than any church I have ever been too. Most o their preachers are like the "fire and brimstone" preachers of old and do not apologize for preaching the Word of God and its Truth. They do not sugarcoat or pat people on the back for undeserved righteousness.

In my religious seeking, I have been to about every church you can think of at least a few times; 7th day, Church of God, Assembly of God, Mennonite, Mormon, regular baptist. Have been member at Lutheran(which I grew up as), Wesleyn, Methodist, and IFB.

IFB in my opinion is far stonger in the KJV bible and they are more servants.
